Huh. I didn't even realize the Ides of March was so close.
You lot would plot to assassinate me the day Okamiden comes out.

On March 15th, one legend will fall and two more will rise in its place.
(Had to make a terrible Shuma, Okami, RobbyBevard and Caesar joke all in one).
Has this show started airing yet, btw? -
As the evil pirate that I am, I'm already playing Okamiden, I only have one word: "Awwwwwwww:wub:"
-
the picture was already posted last week
-
I fixed the picture of Korra in the spoiler tags. Looks like the link was broken[qimg]http://musogato.com/avatar/sprites/img/aang-dobs-c2.gif[/qimg]
Ironicaly, it stil is :ninja: .

"forbidden" XD well taboo says it's the same pic that was posted before so never mind.

Alright, go here to see Korra: http://images.avatarspiritmedia.net/newsupdates/korrasface.jpg
Don't know what was up with it before. Sorry about that.
EST IST VERBOTEN !!!

Nein Nein Nein Nein Nein!!
-
Man, 2012 is far away.
@Thousand:
Blegh, a little sexiness would have been appreciated. Manly females are boring and lame. It's like saying females can't be badass unless they're beefed up. (…) Still wanted a sexy lead.
It's like you're saying females can't be sexy unless they have the muscle definition of a blow-up doll
Seriously though, we get a slight hint of something resembling an actual human body and people start talking about "muscle-girls" >_> -
I know, it was supposed to be out later this year. The only thing that confuses me is the title. The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra just doesn't seem right since "The Last Airbender" was Aang's title. They could of just stayed with what fans on the internet called it with Avatar: Legend of Korra. To me that makes more sense.
-
maybe it had something to do with copy rights with the CG avatar movie?
-
I thought it was avatar: the legend of korra?
-
I think the title of the thread is confusing people. o:
-
Apparently, it's been retitled The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra though they haven't given a reason as to why that is. It might be that they intend to go through with the live action films though and want to keep that The Last Airbender name in the public consciousness.
In universe, if Tenzin is the only Airbender, then the title would still make sense since he's a major character.
-
Yeah that makes sense, 'cept the story is about Korra, not Tenzin. Though, if Tenzin is a major character, then it definitely works.
And to all the confused people, after Korra was announced to the public last year, all the fans started calling it Avatar: Legend of Korra, which, would be the obvious choice. The article I provided referred to the show as The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra. But I still don't think that officially means that that's the title, but when Mike & Bryan where interviewed they didn't say anything to the interviewer when he called it that.
-
Since merging the two threads together seems to be causing confusion rather than just solidifying the one topic, I'm unfusing them.
Sorry for the
tear=bendinginconvenience. -
Don't apologise to us mate.
Apologise to taboo :ninja:
-
Well the Ides of March have passed and I'm not assassinated, so… its probably all good.
All though my copy of Okamiden hasn't arrived yet...
-
i stabbed you like dat girl got stabbed in the last chapter of bleach but you just dont know it
youre a ghost now too
-
is this gonna be like the sixth sense?
-
Robby sees banned people.

Sorry for the
tear=bendinginconvenience.Wasn't the confusion about the title from the fact that there are articles that use a new one? Like the Wall Street Journal interview or this one:
http://www.nickandmore.com/2011/03/10/nickelodeon-upfront-2011/
Nickelodeon, the global leader in television animation, will introduce 450 episodes of new animation programming over the next three years, with almost 200 episodes rolling out on Saturday mornings in 2012. (…) and the brand-new series The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra–a spinoff of Avatar: The Last Airbender,…
-
i stabbed you like dat girl got stabbed in the last chapter of bleach but you just dont know it
youre a ghost now too
No, that's now how it works. It makes them consider you a friend and want to protect you from your real friends, even though you've been attacking and hurting them in gruesome ways for no good given reason.
….........
Ah yes, I think I realy will kill Kubo if he goes there.
-
MY GOD, ROBBY'S AVATAR!! Where is the adorable husky we know and love?! Maybe it's a hallucination. Yes, that must be it. ha ha ha…
on topic, holy shitzen this is awesome~~~ I'm seriously excited about this. I didn't realize there was going to be a new series since I rarely even bother coming into this part of the forums. I hope we'll have moved back to my house in time for the premiere because my dad was too lazy to bring the TV over and pay cable. Steampunk Avatar will be awesome. I wonder if cabbage man is still alive.

@Bryan:
The main characters are in their late teens, we’ve always loved those kind of teen love triangle type stories and there was plenty of that in the original series. We’re definitely getting into it in this series. The difference is these people have cars and motorcycles and things. There’s definitely a different dynamic. I’d say the show is more sophisticated than the original series but it has the same balance of tones we’ve always liked with humor, action, drama, scary stuff and romance.
Interesting.
Korra, we kind of describe her as a fiery waterbender. She’s very pugnacious. Kind of in your face. We wanted to create a new Avatar that was completely the opposite of Aang. So, whereas Aang was the peaceful, nomadic Airbender guy, she’s very tough, very headstrong, not scared to get into a fight, and kind of picks fights with people too sometimes. So she’s definitely totally the opposite of Aang so it has been kind of fun to write her character and put her in situations that Aang never would have gotten into.
And that kind of ties right into her buffer, more muscled appearance, as speculated. neat.
-
I wonder if they have guns as well? Wow the Avatar world advanced so much faster then our one. Interesting they already have that kind of tech I guess the tech level should be on par with maybe the 30's or 40's era.
-
They already had flying gliders, carts, war baloons, and giant mechanized drills and boats made of metal, and a couple crazy super inventor guys.
So while its a bit of a jump, its not entirely crazy to think that, once the fire nation stopped being in war machine mode 24/7 and made their metal factories and technologies available that things could progress fairly quickly. The drill is pretty much the major precedent for mechanized transport.
I mean, look at the tech jump the real world has had in the last 20 years, let alone the last 70.
-
Will we find out what happened to Zuko’s mom?
DiMartino: That question will be answered in some way, but not necessarily in the show. That’s all I’ll say.Damn you Michael and Bryan!! Damn you! I've been hoping for some resolution to this since the series ended, and now you're still teasing me! Damn you!
-

We can hope its in that comic collection coming out soon from Dark Horse. Some of that will be reprints from Nick magazine, but a lot of it will be new.
We can also hope for 86 year old Zuko in the show.
-
If the medium they chose for that are cheap "novelisation" spin offs I would not be pleased.
Edit: …..Aang's face.....O_O
-
@No:

As written and drawn by people that actually worked on the show? In comic form?
Hardly cheap OR "novelization".
-
Y'know if the creators go the Miyazaki route they could make this a 'technology vs nature thing' with Korra being while tough and rebellious she's also a nature pacisfist at heart and she hates where modern tech has gotten them, or something.
I think they might go that route.
We can also hope for an 86 year old Zuko in the show
Andrea Romano confirmed 'everyone from that generation has passed on'.
-
I meant in the form of those cheap paperback books they sell for animated shows sometimes.
-

Somewhat sad that this means Bumi isn't still living. Would have been brilliant.
But then again, somewhat glad that this'll mean its a fresh series in a familiar world.
-
Andrea Romano confirmed 'everyone from that generation has passed on'.
Well of COURSE they wouldn't acknowledge that, that would completely spoil any sense of surprise or reveal. Plus, being that aged, it likely wouldn't be the same VA's for most of them anyway. So aside from Zuko and his scar, we wouldn't likely even initially recognize the characters as they were on sight anyway.
When people in that world live to be 120 and are still totally fit, I have a hard time believing we won't see at least one of them again. And yes, Aang is obviously dead, but he'd by default be Korra's spirit mentor like Roku was for him. So we'll probably see him in some form or another.
I can believe not wanting to show the 12 year old protagonists as really really old people, but we're going to see SOMETHING of them. Plus, there's always flashbacks. And the spirit world. And Yui in the moon.
@No:

Hardcover, 240 pages, like the artbook was. From the people that actually worked on the show. It won't be cheap.
-
I'm not talking about the comic book at all Robby.
I said novelisation, not comic books.
-

Yeah, well I have a weird prediction that somewhere they might retrun in some sort of reincarnation. In fact recall that scene in that episode in which Zuko and Aang were revealed to be spiritually related, that scene where the gang were talking about how friendships can transcend lifetimes even through reincarnation(which an example can point to Roku who was friends with Aang's master before he was. I think we will see them in a similar fashion.
-
-
I knew from panel one it was gonna end that way. That makes it even more hilarious.
-
I love how old soka managed to grow Wang Fire's Beard.
-
Twenty minutes later:
Sokka's Kid: MOM! DAD! AUNT KATARA! UN… huh, I wonder what sky bison tastes like.
