They just uploaded that page way to early.

@Gia:
As far as i have seen, some of the older volumes now have the boroque works title. I have seen volume five titled east blue as well. I would just go to the store if you live in the US to buy them.
Yeah that's what I've been doing for a bit. So far I've gotten 1, 6-8, 14-15 and 20 in the new ones that way.
Was kind of hoping to just get the rest all at once to get it out of the way.
-
I saw a copy of Volume 23 with the Baroque Works title a month or so ago.

been out since January or so

If you're buying the earlier volumes to get the new logo on top of One Piece, I suggest NOT buying through online sites.
I remember someone here saying they got nearly all of the volumes with the new logo … except for like one or two. Kind of ruins the whole look if that's what you're trying to do.

Dunno whether to react in anger or be happy we're at least in the top 5
-
I'm happy we're at least in the top 5
-
-
Why would you react angrily?
-
-
That's awesome. I think that's a sign that the speed up caught new fans' attention. Also, with the speed up over, that One Piece is still selling well enough to make the list even though it's only one volume every four or so months … that's good. Hopefully, this trend continues.
One Piece isn't JUST in the top ten, it's in the top FIVE.
-
I was in B&N today and almost bought volume 55, but all the copies they had were damaged…bent corners, peeling covers, etc....there's another B&N close by so I'm going to go to that one HOPEFULLY soon. I wanted to go today, but my mom wanted to go home.
-
Sounds like alot of
assholespeople sit/lay down/camp on the floor and read for free in your bookstore. -
That's true…carrying on tradition though, because they've ALWAYS done that with manga at this particular B&N...which is why so many of my old volumes of Dragon Ball are so beat up. Plus Viz's book quality wasn't that great in 2003 / 2004 and into 2005...a lot of volumes from those years have really weak bindings. They've gotten much better since then though.
-
Awesome. Looks like the speed up helped!!
-
Sounds like alot of
assholespeople sit/lay down/camp on the floor and read for free in your bookstore.I should try that.
I really need money so I can buy these volumes. I only have up to 48.
("Only";) -
I did that with FMA when I visited my aunt America in 2005. But they had recliners :3
I always got in trouble by my dad when I was little and sat on the floor looking at magazines.
-
when I was in university and poor (unlike now when I am working and poor), bookstores didn't offer chairs and generally frowned upon reading unpurchased materials, I would do what I called a bookstore tour, read a chapter in a book in one store and then move on to another store until I had read the entire book.
luckily for me I read very fast (over 1000 words a minute)
-
lol well B&N has a cafe and tons of chairs…they basically invite people to come read in the stores. I read in stores once in a while...I have nothing against it necessarily, just if you're going to do it, don't bend the covers and spill food on the book you're reading XD
-

Yea there always like that at the borders stores i go to, its rather annoying. Its one of the reasons i bought the viz big Dragonball volumes online since every one they had in the store was just mangled.
-

You see kids dropping crumbs and shit in the books and i just want to beat the shit out of them but i heard jail isn't very fun.
-
@Joe:

There are libraries though. With chairs.
-
It makes you wonder why B&N and Borders don't have security guards posted in all the book sections.
I guess it'd cost too much. -

none of the libraries i go to have one piece volumes.
So B&N will have to do.
-

I guess it'd cost too much.Probably because they figured out that, just as with me many years ago, most people who love to read will eventually buy.
-
I don't know if this has been posted already.. But just found out that VIZ isn't planing to make any more Omnibus releases :( I was hoping that OP would be released in multi omnibus releases. And to be honest, i find the cover of the volumes a bit to colourfull..
anyway this was there 'official' response about the omnibus releases:"Thank you for your interest in our product. Please keep watching www.viz.com for current info
PS sorry for the form letter. There are not currently plans to make any more One piece OMNIBUSES" -
does anyone know if shonen jump will lower its One Piece chapters from 4 to 3 anytime soon? or are they just planning on doing 4 forever?
-
Was happily surprised to find my local FP has up to Volume 52. And FINALLY have got Fairy Tail in!
But those are for another day, had to get work clothes today instead. I hope my FP ins't being sold though, I saw a 'For Sale' sign that I dont't recally noticing before at the very top of the building. Though I don't think it uses all 3 floors …
-
I really wish they would stop teasing One Piece Color Walk 1 at the end of these recent volumes. They KNOW it's out of print.
Maybe they'll reprint it
ifwhen they bring over the other Color Walks? -

I had no idea it was going to go out of print, so I feel lucky I ordered it when I did. Damn.
Too bad it doesn't look like they'll release the other ones though…
-
I have a question : what were the Tenryuubito called in the viz translation ?
-
Celestial Dragons.
-
Whenever you guys talk about Color Walk 1 being out of print, I always think of that one lone Color Walk 1 sitting in my Borders. I think it's still there even after they moved the store too.
-
This is just a little rant I want to get off my chest.
Why does Viz have to translate almost every attack name and/or move for One Piece?
In Naruto, they either have the japanese word and the translation (ie. Chidori:One thousand birds), or just the japanese word.
With Bleach, it's pretty much the same as with Naruto. "Getsuga Tenshou" and "Bankai"… not translated.
But in One Piece, we get "finger gun" and "iron body" and "six powers" , etc.
I mean, I don't see the point in doing that! Dammit, Viz.sigh That felt good.
Feel free to ignore this little rant. -

"GOD!!! WHY DOES ENGLISH HAVE TO EXIST??? I HATE IT. WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LEAVE THE MANGA IN JAPANESE??? WHY TRANSLATE IT? I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN DOING THAT! DAMN YOU, VIZ!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!"
-
Why does Viz have to translate almost every attack name and/or move for One Piece?
Presumably because a good 75-85% of the people they're localizing this for don't speak Japanese.
-
And here we go …
-
I know I really shouldn't be responding to this, but the settings of Bleach and Naruto draw much more heavily from Japanese culture and mythos than One Piece does. And English people naturally don't speak Japanese.
And we still got ''Hakokku Sovereignty'', BTW.
-

That's completely not what I was saying..
@Cyan:Presumably because a good 75-85% of the people they're localizing this for don't speak Japanese.
And yet people still understand Rasengan and Sharingan and Getsuga Tenshou and Ki and Bankai…..
-
The only attacks that should be in Japanese are Zoro's.
-
I thought it was Finger Pistol.

That's pretty much it right there.
Just because One Piece doesn't give off that "qoute" Japanese vibe "unqoute" means they have to translate most of the techniques into complete english. -

I'm mostly talking about the Rokushiki techniques.

okay so you're pissed about the rokushik- er, just to make you rant, I'll call them the SIX POWERS!!! Ooooooohh you must be in so much pain….

you call it blowing it out of proportion, i call it a lampoon, a satire.
