To think Miura has already resolved his troubling thematics about fate by "gutts is outside it for some reason lol"….
Damn Terek. Someone needs to reread this thing from scratch.

Guts defies fate by surviving when surviving is impossible, from as early as his birth. That's not the same as having no fate at all.
Also, when Guts decides someone needs to die… they die. However long it takes.
Every second of reading Berserk should be accompanied with the foreboding feeling of "is this all preordained?".
I only considered everything up through Astral World merging, because that's all we've seen. There's nothing that says Abyss won't fully merge as well, but I'm going to wait to see the other God Hand walk around in corporeal forms before I accept it.
Griffith still required a mortal body to incarnate, so even if he's already full power Femto, he needed a physical tether in some form, and that as of when he first incarnated means his ego only existed in Physical, Interstice and Nexus. If the worlds as far do eventually merge together, killing him once will definitely kill him forever. But for now, if he's killed, he'll join Idea in Abyss like the dead Apostles. But as a God Hand, I'm skeptical of that being the end of his sapience.

This is a larger trend going on here, the Astral World just got fully merged, but what makes you think things will stop there?

If the worlds are merging then corporeal will have little to do with it.

And what makes you think the reckoning with Griffith will come now rather then at more advanced stages of the plot.
Griffith may not be corporeal but the godhand's existence would have been shifted a plane lower by the world merging. Guts' Apostle killing sword may be able to damage them now.
Guts could already damage them. He was able to damage Slan in the troll's den thanks to his Apostle killing sword. Normally you shouldn't even be able to inflict any damage at all to such a high level spirit like the Godhand is.

She was getting off on it. It wasn't damage in the sense that it was dangerous to her. I assume that is what he meant.
She was getting off on it since she likes pain. She is a sadomasochist.
In Volume 26, Even Skullknight pointed out the swords ability to damage her.
Skullknight: Don't falter. With that sword of yours, Knight…. It can be done. Take that sword, tempered by the malice of hundreds........thousands of undead. Run her through.
Then later on Schierke comments on Guts sword after she found out he faced Slan down there.
Schierke: Guts what exactly happened there after the rest of us fled? Those wounds.....They're not something a mere troll could inflict. And the talisman I applied. At some point was effaced.
Guts: I kicked her ass with one stab from this. A monster who pretends to be an angel.
Schierke: No.....Could that be...?! Oh that would explain that bizarre flow of OD. But....in that case there's no why he could be all right like this....Not that he's all right. In the first place....a mere human has no way to fight such a high-leveled spirit....that sword.... maybe with it's specialized power from continually cutting those of the astral world.

I am aware of that. My point is that it wasn't dangerous/deadly to her. It may be now, though.

It was, she left right after the sword wound. Just before that Guts shot her with his canon. She was happy he did that and it left a big hole in her stomach but the wound instant regened right after. If the sword had no effect on her like the canon shot did she wouldn't of had no reason to leave since the wound would've instant regenerated like the canon shot did.
Also if the sword had no effect like your saying it would've made the Skullknight's and Schierke's comments on Guts sword in that very same volume pointless.

It didn't damage her whatsoever.
You're confusing Gutts damaging the crappy fake form she took with him actually damaging her.
EDIT: I'm glad we're back to the Terek/Phoenix Zoan funhouse of Berserk cluelessness.
Her crappy form can instant regenerate itself. It's not as crappy as you think.
Her crappy form isn't her. Thus it's crappy.

You are correct in the sense that it was damaging to her manifestation, but it could not have been deadly because she was just manifesting using the troll intestines. Guts did the same to Ganishka's cloudy apostle body. It wasn't deadly to him, it just caused him to lose his apostle form. Now that the realms have been merged though (assuming that is what happened), it should be capable of killing her with finality. That is what I meant.
Well if Guts could damage one now due to the state of the world, any chance of one of the Godhand appearing at Elfhelm for one violent intent or another, and we'd get a fight with them?
Kind of a stupid thought, but just popped into my head.
No.
They're too big in the mythos to be taken down yet, or take downable.
Remember, Gutts has yet to overcome the top apostles in The neo-Hawks.

It did damage Ganishka though. It left that X scar on his forehead exactly where Guts attacked his mist manifestation.
But I agree though if Guts wants to kill somebody for real he has to actually defeat their true form and not their manifestation. With the realms being merged now it most likely means that the Godhands no longer have to manifest themselves to appear or what for a Eclipse to be summoned. They can do it now with their real bodies.

Ganishka's situation was similar in nature, he wasn't trying to make a direct comparison.
She was projecting her ego into a corporal form.

Seems to early for a Godhand battle. But you never know with Miura. We'll probably get alot more fantasy battles for now until Guts returns to the mainland.
Guts can't be that far away from the new Hawks top apostles. Last time he fought one with the Berserker armor he was already heavily injured and still held the upper hand until the injuries really caught up with him, albeit with a surprise arm cannon hit that the apostles would probably know about now.
Maybe just an appearance by a God Hand to show how much more he needs to go to beat one, as Elfhelm probably won't just be a peaceful arc.
We're gonna need a rematch with Grunbeld, I'm looking forward to that.
I just want to see Grundbeld's Apostle form again, he had one of the most badass designs I've ever seen in a manga.

Yeah I don't really see them reaching Elfheim and nothing happens. They'll probably be some big fantasy boss they end up facing there. A rematch with the Neo Hawk Apostles should be in Guts favor though. Since if Guts is going to get any powerup it'll be at Elfheim. The next time he faces them he should be stronger. We might get a possible timeskip were Griffith's Kingdom goes to shit. Guts returns to the mainland and the Age of Darkness is in full swing.
If his kingdom goes shit at all. Maybe Griffith will become the hero the people always thought he was. Thus making Guts the bad guy trying to kill a beloved king. If that's what Griffith wants it will problably happen.
I kinda always figured that would be the case. Even if the citizens did find out what he did, the entire country isn't going to care if he sacrificed a small platoon of men if in the end it gave him the power to save their whole nation. When Gut's goes after Griffith, he will only be seen as a bad guy in the people's eyes.
His status as a 'villain' has only been going up since the golden age arc ended, such as with the knights of the holy iron chain.
Reading the Demon Dog part right now… LOL
His monster D!ck tentacool was cut off… serves the perv right. XD

Don't really see it going down like that. Griffith's goal was to become a ruler of the kingdom. He has now achieved that dream. Eventually he's going to get tired of being on top and his demon side will come out. Aside from his new more honorable Apostle's of the new Neo Hawks, the one's from the Eclipse are still man killing, woman raping monsters. I don't really see Griffith putting a leash on them and forbidding them to do what they want.
Muira has been hyping up the Age of Darkness for a while. The Age of Darkness is basically when Demons rule everything after the 5th Angel (Godhand) takes over.
Here's the prophecy from what Schierke and Azan said.
"When the Sun has died five times, a red lake will appear at the West of the city with a name both new and ancient, and it will be the sign that the fifth angel, the Falcon of Darkness, is born. The Angel shall be both master of the sinful black sheep and king of the blind white ones. He is the one who shall bring an age of darkness upon the world."
Femto now has control of the sinful black sheep (the apostles) and the blind white ones (all the people of the kingdom he now controls that think he some kinda savior).
With the world mergings all kinda shit is going to hit the fan. All the evil fantasy monsters are going to terrorize everything. Then you can add on the other 4 Godhands members doing all kinds of crazy shit now since they are now in the regular world. Griffith may join in but we know his apostles will end up doing some crazy shit after a while. If Muira choses to start the Age of Darkness. By the time Guts get back there may not be a unraped girl in Griffith's Kingdom.
I think there's no reason for Guts to be stronger than Grunbeld or Zodd's apostle form RIGHT NOW. And if he does defeat them, he'll need to use his Berserker armor, go bat shit insane, almost kill his friends, then spend 2-3 weeks constantly bleeding till almost dying, going in and out of consciousness. . .Then he is miles away from killing a God Hand. Remember these guys have shown powers that can manipulate reality.
Gutts needs "something" more. I don't know what. Magic does't suit him AT ALL, so I really don't know what could work.
Assuming the series does come to an end at some point, I think Guts will inherit something from the Skull Knight. The dimension sword is pretty sweet, but the Dragonslayer is much more awesome.
@JERK:

I never liked how that fight got interrupted and once it did I was sure that a rematch was going to take place just a little bit down the line.

I honestly see Elfheim as being this once untouchable place and because of the merging of worlds and guts initial presence there shit will start to go down fast.

How about a fusion of the two weapons? I think that would look awesome.

Look at it this way all sorts of creatures have entered the real world which also means much stronger weapons can be made from their skin etc… Guts could also tame a magical beast and mount it?

I second that.
Also Guts seems for a longer time really exhausted. So I think his condition will be completely restored by King Hanafubuku, which will be something like a powerup for him.
Completely forgot about my quest to read this manga before the hiatus ends
I'm at the chapter where the King tried to rape her daughter
I'm already used to manga violence, but I'l never get used to manga loli rape
You can't spell loli rape without lol.
Only now noticed you are Kairoseki
I'm very slow
At least I kept the ava/sig combo eh? Can't say the same for some people cough :ninja: .
Woah…Skull Knight, Nice, very nice. Was it ever explained in the later chapters where did he got his inhuman powers? Just a yes or a no will do.

Not yet. He is a riddle shrouded in badass and wrapped in awesome.
Oh I see. Thanks.
I'm still reading the post eclipse chapters. It wasn't shown in the anime, Zodd vs. Skull Knight fight. He surely made some chopped beef out of Zodd, too bad Zodd can attach dismembered parts of his body, even his bloody horns. XD
Edit: Holy shit….Caska regressed to a child like mental state, Hmmm...did Miura study human psychology? Wow, the progression of the story sure is fluid and clear at this point.

! I thought it was implied that he was the one who's flesh was stripped of his bones by the Armor, since he also knows about the sideeffects (Guts loss of colorvision). Doesn't he also know/hate the first Godhand personally.
…indeed, there can be no doubt about his awesomeness.

! That doesn't explain how he got his powers. You are right about the armor belonging to him though. Yes, he does seem hate Void more than the others.
! Wasn't it hinted that the Skull Knight is the former emperor Gaiseric? I personally think he has the same story as guts. Decided to wear the berserker armor, succumbed to the side effects and was once a sacrifice chosen by void, like guts being betrayed by Griffith.
Wait, why am I using spoilers again?

Spoilers are cool.
! What you think is thought by many fans, including me. Could be a red herring though. By the way, have you noticed that Void and Skully are sort of inversions of eachother? Void is all brain and muscle while Skully is a skeleton. Think it means something?
^^ and the third one is made of skin, he is found in elfheim and called Blimpman.
! spoiler!
It would be interesting but I don't think that they were made from the same guy, unless one of them uses false teeth^^.
! sry, it is a good idea but I can't stop finding it funny:ninja:
I didn't say that they were made from the same person. :/ I said they were inversions of each other.
Consider me corrected.:whistling:
They would still make awesome Kinnikuman fighters.
He was to awesome for one body… so he split into three: Skullman! Muscleman!! and Bliiimpman!!!
Brainy's probably the one who betrayed Skully.
Wow
Just read the Eclipse
Fucking awesome

great book by stephanie Myer J/K
but seriosly I remember when my eclipse cherry was popped. My jaw dropped to the floor the entire time.
