@jackvance:
Hm seems like I've been misunderstood in what I'm trying to say here. I wasn't actually trying to judge anyone here or anything, for those who've been reading my earlier posts they should know I don't judge good or bad, I just kinda analyse. And the whole STD and failure rate of condoms looked like a lot of 'mental masturbation' to me, or armchair analysis.
If you're gonna throw out these kinds of numbers you can scare anyone about anything. Most accidents happen at home. If I start giving tons of examples and stuff, hell, you'd think twice of walking around in your own house. Or death rates on the road.. if I keep hammering on those you'd get scared of ever driving a car again. Well, I hope you understand what I'm getting at..
I understand that's what you were pointing out in the first part of your post
@jackvance:
Meh this discussion just turned boring. I'm sorry to say but if you really want to push the fact that you might contract a disease even if you use protection,
I was pointing out actually the second part of that sentence
@jackvance:
yeah, then you're just using a rationalisation cuz you simply can't get laid.
You know, because I had to defend myself for still being a virgin and all - social insecurity and all that jazz - otherwise the boys at school will steal my lunch money again…:laugh:
But, yeah, numbers can scare people, especially when they are presented in such a way as to focus on the negative parts. It's pretty reasonable to say that driving is more necessary than sex, though. I don't drive unless I have somewhere I need to go - I can't really think of a similar analogy for sex. But, being careful with both is key, otherwise undesirable things can happen.
