I was bored, so here are some statistics on 4Kids, taken from their NYSE page on Yahoo! Finance.
Now, the question is,
"How much money, per individual, would be required for Arlong Park to take over 4Kids?"
4Kids gross worth as of October 12, 2005 (tomorrow!), will be around $122,100,000. That's one hundred and twenty two million dollars.
We need 51% of the company's shares to control it. Controlling interest at the ending price of today (~$17.30) would be around 3.6 million shares.
Arlong Park has 2,307 members.
In terms of money, we need $62,271,000 to take control of 4Kids Entertainment.
If everyone at Arlong Park, around 2,307 members, bought one share, which is at $17.30, we would own about $39,911. If everyone on Arlong Park bought five shares, that would equate to $199,555.
If everyone on Arlong Park bought ten shares, which would be around $173.00, we would have $399,111.
In order for us to take down 4Kids, with a minimum of 51% controlling interest, and assuming everyone on Arlong Park is active, has the money, and is willing to cooperate, we would need to purchase 3,599,480 shares of the company. Divided amongst all of us, that equates to 1,560 shares each, or $26,988 per individual.
Is "One Piece," really worth that much to people? :/
