I'm playing it.
I don't see how it clones Shadow of the Colossus at all, outside of one boss mind you. The "God of War clone" stance seems to be the obvious angle to approach it, but even that seems too derivative and misleading to me.
While the combat does have its similarities, The game has a lot more variety to it than it looks, notably in the environments and level design but it doesn't sound like the demo has really done a good job of showing it, and if anything, it kind of reminds more of the Prince of Persia games with the linear but well-paced platform climbing and jumping with a little bit of Super Castlvania IV with some varied and vivid terrain unlike in Lament of Innocence or Curse of Darkness.
The controls are slick, but also kind of sensitive, and I think that can be attested to just how fast Gabriel moves. The slightest tilts will make him run, and dodging is done by holding the L2 button and tilting the stick however slightly, you can even hold down the button and just roll around with the stick. Because of that you may find yourself either slipping off a platform, running into an invisible wall, or just stopping in your tracks from time to time to get a looks at the scenery. Its not that big of a problem though, just takes a few minutes to get used to.
Of course I also have to mention the sound and music for this game. Though I haven't encountered any classic tunes (yet) the music is really great, as is the voice acting and narration. When Patrick Stewart speaks, you'll actually want to listen.
So yeah, its a good game, but I've got a lot left to do in it. Maybe I'll give a full review after a full playthrough.
