@Aka:
the creator of the manga chose the word because thats the way he fancys it or because he has a reason for that. even in the anime they dont translated it… why screw up things and call it some other words just becasue they sound cool to some people? the word Haki sounds cooler than other words pffff
The reason people want it translated isn't because people want it to sound cool, in fact one of the reasons why people Don't want it translated is because Haki sounds cooler.
And what do you mean by in the anime they 'dont translated it', Do you mean the subs, because Funimation wanted to use Ambition but were told by Toei to use Haki Energy.
And what you mean by "The way he fancys it" and "Has a reason for that", In the Japanese language, Haki means Ambition, Passion, Spirit, stuff like that. Your saying Oda chose that word for a reason and shouldn't be translated, but to a japanese person reading the work Haki in One Piece, would be the same thing as us reading Ambition.
That bugs me with people in this discussion. I can kinda understand how some people want Attacks and stuff like that to be untranslated, I prefer them translated, but what ever, people have their preferances.
But the people that are saying they don't want Haki translated because "If you say Ambition, people won't understand that it's a technique, and it'll be confusing" Well guess what IT's like that to the Japanese audience. When they are reading 'Haki', it's the same thing, if we are reading 'Ambition'. Both ARE regular words, that are being used to also describe the Technique
