Pokemon's Fifth Generation
-
Bacondorf needs a trident.
-
I was expecting a fire/psychic poke, but then again it would just be a fire version of Grumpig and Spoint, Fighting/Fire it is then…
Hoorah.
Also the final evolution Actually makes Mijimaru the most favourable for me.
So I guess i'm going to have to pick the deformed otter then, Hooray! -
I prefer ganonpork
Anyway we don't know for sure that he's fire/fighting. Granted he really looks like it, but I been surprised before. Really seems like a odd combo to get 3 times in 3 gens.
-
So now the starter evos are real again?! Oy, whatever. My initial reaction is still that they're pretty stupid, but maybe they'll grow on me.
Anyway, 156 new pokemon would give us a grand total of 649. I'm willing to bet there's one more secret pokemon to give us a grand total of 650.
-
Well the guy said 156 was the Isshu dex number to a total of 649 but like you said there may be some more pokemons after the National dex, DP had most of the leageds and the new evolutions and rotom only after the league then it was changed in Platinum so i see that happening indeed.
The evolutions are most likelly true but not confirmed 100% true yet Im still wishing they arent.
-
I don't really mind the evolutions of smugsnake and firepig. But Wotter's last evolution is just too radical.
I'll probably end up choosing firepig though. (If the evolutions are legit that is.)
-
Wotter second evo looks great. The last one reminds me too much of Dialga.
-
The monkeys, we can see the red one but the blue one with a cleared pic seems to be the exact same as the green one but in blue colour I hope not, Plusle and Minun differ much but i still i hope this have some diferences besides color.

looks at the evos Yep, definitely Tsutaja for me. It's evos are the nicest.
I've nothing against Mijumaru's final evo, but yeah, it's a weird leap from 2nd to 3rd.
Pokabu . . . . . yeah, only the first form is cute. 2nd/3rd . . . . not so much.
-
The Otter's final evolution looks like a bloated four-legged Dragonair. Everyone else looks rather agreeable.
-
Looks like we are getting YET ANOTHER Cat. I hope this time it's more useful than Persian, Delcatty and Purrugly.
-
We always get the generic cat its a tradition.
In other news Americans can rejoice lol, the setting of the game is indeed New York, Pokemon Pia(some document about the game) confirmed it and its probably why we wont get any pokemon from older regions in this one.

New York? Well that's a first.

O_o
Excuse me while I try to catch a Mijumaru.
-
Some of the americans were speculating that it looked a lot like Manhatan(I dont really know) and some other guys were thinking it was Shangai but seems like yeah that confirms the zone to take place in NY.
-
There needs to be Frank Sinatra in this game.
NOW.
-
A place in New York
Called Isshu :wassat:? I wonder what they will translate it too.
Also Mike Tyson should be the champion of this region.
-
"Insert Mike Tyson joke about ears here"

Why is there a guy whos hair is shaped like poop?
omg just realized it … an excellent question.
-
The real question is why they let japanese Hitler host a kid's show.
-
Japanesse hitler is a nice guy. British Hitler was Charles Chapplin, remember.

What's the purple thing next to the plant-monkey?
This generations cat. Speculation says that it being a dark type that evolves into a panther.

I wish we had the old Famitsu back…
Anyways, Black and White got 40/40

Wow, I can't believe it. In exactly 10 days B&W will be out in Japan and we'll be able to see all 156 new pokemon in all their digital glory (well, those of us who want to)
-
And I'll be able to play through it…adding MORE games to my backlog. 8D
-
I think Pokabu's forms are epic looking xD but however I am torn between Tsutaja's and Mijumaru's final forms
I must say tho I am really liking this game it is the first game that I like all 3 starters and not just 1

a perfect score? no surprise there.
-
I think I'm going to break my trend and go with the fire starter in this round. Bacondorf is looking too tasty to resist.
-
Never before have I been compelled to go with the grass starter on looks alone. Sorry Bacondorf and Ottercorn.
Although all that could change if we learn about some potentially tasty dual-typing.
-
Sadly if its actually true, its a Pure Water, Pure Grass and Fire/Fightning(again)…
-
Dialgwoter could be Water/Dragon
-
Dragon would be cheap if any starters had that typing.
Anywa if he is something i think it will be Water/Rock or Water/Fightning if he can stand in two feet but its probably pure Water type cause it was the guy whos leaking everything else that said it, hopefully not.
-
Fire/fighting… AGAIN? What the hell is their fascination with that typing? (and then not giving the other starts something) When theres a dozen elements fire HASN'T been paired with?
-
-
why isn't it surprising?
Considering Famitsu is infamous for their harsh scores and they've only given out like ten perfects in 20 years… and the previous pokemon games scored 37 and 36's... it IS in fact, surprising.
-
I really wish they'd make the pokemon league in the game alot more like the 1 in the anime. The format is so much better. You should have to battle ur way through to face the Elite 4 and not just go through the lame victory road. It should be in the format of what you'd find in facilities in the battle frontier.
I really wish they'd do it that way. It'd be a million times better…and for god sake, at least give an option to make the game harder. As fun as it is, it is no good if u just steamroll every oppenent with ur starter or team of 2 or 3 powerhouses.
That being said, i'm lookin forward to these new pokemon. I already built a team just frm the 40 we've seen so far. I just hope that badass looking eagle turns out to be really good. I also like that swan type pokemon..becuase i love swans in real life..i hope thats a good 1 too.
-
Where are you guys getting info on the evolutions' types? There still isn't even any confirmation that they're legit.
-
I don't trust famistu reviews, but the stuff nintendo have changed seems interesting.
-
Another fire/fighting type just turns me off completely to the fire starter. I'd rather have pure fire at this point.
-

I did a bit of research on Famitsu (in other words I just looked it up on Wikipedia) and apparently they've become a lot more lax with their reviews lately. They've only given 15 games a perfect score, and 9 of them were within the last 3 years. And they've been in publication since 1986.
Oh, and among the games they've given a perfect score include:
-Final Fantasy XII
-Nintendogs
-Monster Hunter Tri
-Bayonetta -
Wow, I'm not digging any of these final evo's for the starters. They all look ridiculous, except maybe the fire type. But if it's fighting, I'll hate it, too.
Where's my Swampert?
-
I'm liking Wotter's final evo for the most part. My only gripe is just that it's too much of a drastic change from what Wotter started out as.
-
Why are we all still calling them legit when there's still zero official sources stating so?
Trusting 2ch as the source is like believing 4chan. Especially when we've had a good number of times where "legit" evolutions have been popping up and being retracted.

I think they're more trusting Serebii rather than 2ch. Serebii's inside source says they're real.
-
Serebii's inside source also claimed that Shellos evolved into Lapras, and Serebii also hasn't been that good in it's history with being trustworth (he thought Brandon was a GIRL.) So yeah, still taking those evolutions with a grain of salt.
