Wow O_O
I'm so sorry Dracmeer, Rona and for everyone else who has lost money. PayPal should side with you, I hope beyond words that you guys get your money back!
I can't believe this, this is a huge shock.
And without having any idea from what's going on behind the scenes i was on the wagon with other people who felt sorry for her from all the abuse she was mentioning all the time and half of us tried to comfort her o_O I feel so stupid.
Although to be honest after i came across her crying out a drama twice (and trying to say something supportive with all my foolishness), i started to get suspicious after the third, fourth and so on times. Because there was ALWAYS some minor abuse/theft/being left alone in between her lines and she always had a response for everyone. She just had so many answers to give as if it was way too hopeless and there was no way out no matter who gave what kind of advice/support. This pattern seriously started to feel too much repeating itself to me… in case there was a %1 chance that all she was saying were true, I didn't want to break her heart so I didn't say anything too... damn.
@klet:
I didn't have any transactions with her, but I've got to say that behavior like that is just all too common in online sales. People will be trustworthy and send things out promptly and safely, then disappear with all sorts of money. They're usually the ones like gunbunny who post things that are a bit too personal in public places. My dad beats me up, my friends steal my stuff, I'm joining the military, etc., etc. Those just aren't things you tell people right away–especially the abuse stuff. Most abused people don't want to tell anyone, because they feel ashamed. I doubt she was telling the truth about any of that, though she probably has some deep physiological problems if she need attention that badly from a group of strangers.
The sad thing is, she'll probably be back, in another community, and have some good transactions for a while, then screw people over again. Happens all the time, unfortunately.
For those of you who trusted her, especially when you had successful transactions with her, don't blame yourselves. You had every reason to trust her, and sadly, that's just a pattern with these kinds of people. I honestly didn't see the warning signs, but looking back, they were definitely there. First one was how she publicly told everyone about all those "bad things" happening to her almost right off the bat after joining the thread. That's not to say that she planned on stealing from people from the start–it's just a first step for people with that kind of personality/mental debilitation/whatever. I don't think that they ever join a community with the intention to rip people off (it just kind of happens), but that's just my personal opinion. Maybe I'm just a sucker.
Still, she should not get away with anything. Get those claims going now, people.
This is so true. There will be people like that, heck there still are in other forums. We can't do anything more than being careful and working with people we trust because when it comes down to money, that is serious. Even then, i think it's a good choice not to send too much money at once without anything solid around, like photos or other proven ways to contact them, a common friend who worked with them before, or maybe paying half beforehand rather than full etc… i don't know these are just some ways i could think of right now because most of us DO shop via people online. I don't think i will add another person/service other than the ones i'm working with right now after this situation ><
Once again, I'm so sorry guys, I hope you get your money back!!!!
