Wow. Registered SAL for Brook cost like 2,000 yen. I wish I went with EMS after all.

3750 For Bobble Butt Moria EMS to the US
Also , To the people who get their Super Ships Collection first , please post pictures =) I ordered the Mihawk and Ace ships , but I wanted to know see the others in hand before I did.
-
Also to those people talking about amiami's shipping rates, for Brooks and Sanji POP, first I had EMS as 3840 yen for shipping to make the total 13610 yen. SAL parcel would cost 3850 yen for both to make the total 13620 yen. I then asked them to be shipped seperately via small packet SAL and it costs 1380 yen for Brooks and 980 yen for Sanji. This totals up to 12130 yen. I trust SAL small package for now and don't mind the wait since I haven't been screwed. This is just a FYI for the people considering shipping options and STILL mixing up SAL parcel and small package SAL.
thanks so much for this. I sent them an email asking to split the shipment into two and ship with SAL small packet. 12130 vs 13620 is enough of a difference for me to make the request for sure!

Arei - For the posters could they be shipped with sal and do you think they could be shipped Sal with a p.o.p
I wish HLJ would just ship my hijikata GEM this is the 5th day :(
-
Finally decided to take a picture of my Usopp POP shrine. Only figure still missing, Usopp/Chopper combo which is still in box.
-
btw, arei, where can I find an actual picture of that strawhat poster you have there?
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3591/onepiecezu2.jpg They're wearing outfits from this color spread.
I've yet to see more then a preview image for the poster.

The box with all the posters in it is not very big or heavy so it should be able to ship with the POP.
I had the posters sent by unregistered SAL and it was like 780 yen for shipping, not bad at all.

How long does Registered SAL usually take? I've got a shipment from AmiAmi that's been in New York since Sunday according to USPS's tracking. I've also got another shipment from an ebay seller in Japan that arrived in New York the same day, and it hasn't left yet either.
I usually don't sweat these things, and I know SAL takes a while. But I don't understand why it would take three days for it to travel from Japan to the US, and it's going to take over six days to make its way from New York to northern Virginia.
-
hey guys i need some advice…
this is my first time pre-ordering a figure. I want to get the Strong World Zoro suit version coming out in September and there seems to be a lot of places providing pre-orders.
For you Canadian or North American collectors which online store do you recommend the most?
cheapest with shipping?I'm thinking of ordering from AmiAmi, but i heard their shipping fees are kinda high
My next choice was to order from Hobby Search but they stopped their pre-orders, so i'm on the waiting list.
And my last resort will probbaly be HLJ -
TOTAL: 3160JPY for Moria for me, registered SAL to Canada. OH BOY

Arei where did you bought those posters??
Thanks in advance :) -

FYI, since you live where you live, use Unregistered SAL or EMS. Anything registered goes to ISC NY and usually is stuck there a minimum of 2 weeks (some people have had packages stuck for a month+). They never scan out so you're not gonna have anymore updates til it shows up at your house.
SAL for me (and I live in Texas) usually takes 7 days (the day it shipped out a week later is the day I get it). Unless its been sent to customs in NY. Thankfully last time someone sent out a package registered it went to Chicago and got here in the normal 7 days X_X But before the registered packages were going to NY and being stuck there 2-3 weeks.

@Arei
that Mugiwara crew poster is <3 xDI know everyone received theirs already but my POP Crocodile and Smoker just arrived last week since i chose SAL ( I'm such a loser ).

Terrific. I didn't have a choice on shipping for the ebay purchase, and I had asked AmiAmi to switch the shipping from EMS to SAL because I couldn't afford EMS at the time. Turns out they switched it to Registered SAL instead of Unregistered like I wanted.

Hey guys~
While we're on the topic of amiami shipping, could someone explain the exact difference between shipping normal unregistered SAL and small packet SAL? Is small packet SAL always cheaper, or was it only so in the case of your larger packages? Since I'm only buying one SH Figuarts Ace and want everything as cheap as possible.
Thanks -

Unregistered SAL is without any tracking while Small Packet SAL does have it. If the stuff is too big for small packet they make it Small Parcel, which is for the bigger packages. If it's still too big then it becomes EMS |D

I really think the differences between different SAL options should be posted on the front page…..way too much talk of false information flying around mixed with confusing misinformation for new people....in a nutshell, you have 2 types of "SAL shipments:
One is SAL parcel and it has rates comparable to EMS and has a very large size/weight limitation just like EMS. The only thing is that it's rarely that much cheaper than EMS to the US (I don't know about other countries) for similar size/weight parcels and EMS is much faster....so most choose EMS and most shops don't even offer SAL parcel for this reason since EMS makes sense...perhaps people use SAL over EMS for custom purposes...I wouldn't know being in the US. This can be fully insured and registered at an additional cost (well a very high insurance limit anyhow that no one here will ever hit buying figures). EMS has an automatic insurance tacked on of 20,000 yen for loss or damage and you can pay for more....SAL has nothing automatically tacked on and you have to pay to have any insurance.
The other is SAL small package. This has a much stricter package size limitation (as the name implies, small package only) and a weight limit of 2kg. This is significantly cheaper than EMS or SAL parcel if the shipment can fit into this category. There is only insurance up to 6000 yen on the registered small packet SAL and no insurance option on the unregistered small packet SAL.
Quick notes, registered shipments = tracking # provided, SAL shipping ranges from usually 7 days to 4 weeks pending on location.....EMS lead time is usually within a week and most of the times in 2-4 business days without customs intervention.
If you guys really need more information, read up here in more detail of the exact specifications:

I figure most of us should be educated in this as we're all avid collectors buying often from Japan.

Even when I ask some people to not send shit registered on Ebay, they still do it anyway =_= Last package I got was such a case but thankfully it didn't end up in NY.
When you ask AmiAmi to switch shipping, you must be specific on exactly what you want. I think it was mentioned when they started to offer Unregistered SAL that if you do not say Unregistered they will assume Registered. I've switched to Unregistered a few times after receiving an invoice and always made sure to mention that and there wasn't a problem.

Full of good information, big thanks Sensui
i always use SAL small packet Unregistered ever since I started buying online, it's very cheap since i live in Asia, one POP normally cost less than 10USD for SAL.Thanks Arei and Reddragon

SUPER SHIP RELEASED
-
i received the invoice from amiami today
this super ships collection costs 4000yen to ship, what the hell….so expansive
do u think the quality is good enough? worth it??
or should i cancel it -
aaah awesome shots from you again richgrohl!! __
-
thanks trashcat ^^,
thanks for the pic gt2003
hmm the super ships kinda look smaller in actual pic than i thought -
Yeah they look tiny. Ace looks like a rip-off what with the size and all. Kinda like when they release Brain Point Chopper and he's the same price as the rest of the crew.
-
Ace one comes together with the Mihawk coffin boat

Here's my input on the SAL vs EMS shipping thing.
Your basic shipping is either SAL or Airmail Small packet. Small packet has 2 restrictions.
a) your package must weigh less than 2kg
b) total dimensions (length x width x height) must be less than 90cm.
This is unregistered and without insurance. To register small packet costs 410 yen and this gives you a tracking number and up to 6000 yen insurance. If your package is bigger or heavier than this, you have 2 options
a) SAL international package gives you a tracking number, no insurance and has a weight restriction of 30kg and dimensions up to 3 meters (size restrictions differ by country). 2 weeks
b) EMS is basically the same as SAL international package but you get inurance up to 20,000 yen and it only takes 3 days to deliver (except if your package ends up in JFK). It can be either slightly more expensive than SAL IP or cheaper (depends on the country)The main reason some things like POPs have to go out by EMS (example Kuma) is that they are too big for a standard small packet box or too heavy once they go in the box. A box to fit something like Kuma POP weighs 600 - 700g already. Once you add the POP, it tips it over 2kg.
Figures that go over the size and/or weight limit for small packet once in a box include Kuma POP, Ichiban kuji Ohz, Ichiban kuji Whitebeard, Whitebeard POP.
Now, back to my vacation. heeee.

So don't worry about that =) -

Nice to see a WCF set where I only want one of them (I blame Vepe) shame that these are getting releases before important chars tho
Nice that I'll be saving money. I suppose it'll go towards Hancock instead.
-
Thanks immensely for the shipping explanations, sensui and crease. c:
We should have a sticky post somewhere with shipping information, lool.-
Ah wow, I didn't know they would mean for those ships to be displayed like that. Still, I really only want Ace. ;-; It looks like the bulk of the weight of those ships is in the bases…wow.
BEPO WCF = MINE
-
Chopper keychain this month. Always thought it was a old set. But this confirms finally its new. Nice to see other points..
-
Oh, and thank you for the pictures, Red. (:
Ahh, Enel Super Effects is so tempting. I still adore Enel. What a psycho. Too bad I need to save everything for my Ace and Lucci stuff. zzz
-
Wouldn't mind the Jimbei but I imagine it will be expensive and abit hard to find so shall give it a miss. Don't really want any WCF's this month, Law and Kidd are nice but I dunno, not essential
-
Yay! Bonney and Bepo finally :D
I just hope they arent the rares of the sets.
