I just recently cleaned out my computer, reorganized things, deleted things, defraged/cleaned by baby. I also "cleaned" a lot of my accounts on various things such as Photobucket(which is why a lot of my old posts using images will no longer work. For example: My old desktop on this very page!). Anyways, here's my new Desktop.

These threads are always solid stuff. I'm somewhat surprised by the many folks still using XP, and more imporantly, using the default settings. There are plenty of ways you can mod your XP layout without installing crap like WindowBlinds that hog system resources.

Hey, you can't beat the classics! XP still works phenomenally, I'm used to how it works, and the default settings give me a bit o' nostalgia.

Thunderbird as an email client is phenomenal. I highly recommend it. It's as close to Apple Mail as you can get for simplicity, plus the interface is easy on the eyes compared to Outlook.

I can't remember what kind of Mac you said you had.

I have the white iMac, and just upgrading to Snow Leopard caused that stupid 10+ minute boot time =_= I was told the best thing for Snow Leopard in the older Macs was to to a clean install (which I will do once I can afford an external harddrive TT_TT)

But if you have a newer Mac, it may not be a problem.

@Arei: I have the aluminum iMac, I purchased it only a year ago. I'm hesitant to upgrade simply because my computer works perfectly fine the way it is now, and I've heard about several users having problems with the new OS. Don't really see the sense in upgrading until it's absolutely necessary as long as everything is running smoothly. And of course I'd like to put off the hassle of a clean install for as long as possible. The only thing that was tempting me to upgrade now was to save myself the trouble of doing it later on, when I'll probably have even more data to reinstall.

Ah yes, and I do recall now the trouble you had with SL, thanks for the reminder. It's probably best to wait, then. ^^

Leopard is fine, if you don't want to upgrade it then I wouldn't for the time being. I'd wait until there was another ground shaking OS update.

I really want to put leopard back on there, but if the clean install works then I won't complain. I can't tell if it's just bugged up or something's actually going wrong with my computer DX
