It would if it was a real match like this between Kaidou and Moria.
Mihawk and Shanks are best buddies i doubt they ever fought with the intention to kill one another (because that is called a serious fight Imo).
However,Ace and Jimbei became good buddies too b4 the war and they had almost killed each other in the past as they stated.
But again, this incident is an exception.@Cymelion
Yes WB and Shanks fight was not seen but for the start but do u rly think they would kill each other if they had the chance during the battle?Do u?Well I don't thus I cannot call this a real fight. And about the past tense comment we will see if u r right won't we? ;)
Exactly - Ace who is more stronger then Luffy and Jimbei fought for 5 days - Luffy exhasted from battle and after fighting Oz - then took on Moria who was fully rested and not exhasted and he lasted not even an hour or so.
Argument over Moria = useless
On the Shanks and Mihawk battles - while they would be sad to kill each other - in the origin storyline of Luffy Shanks makes it clear that when you start the fight you bet your life on it.
WB and Shanks - Mihawk and Shanks fighting to a stalemate does not mean they are not being serious it means that the battle will go longer then they want it to.
If one was weaker and lost the fight I think they would honour the other by finishing them off rather then let the loser live in shame.
Moria was a powerful force I can imagine but losing to Kaidou made him weak not stronger he looked to outsource his strength not improve his own.
Luffy has lost a lot now will he rely on his crew becoming stronger then him to protect him and realise his dreams? No he will become stronger to protect them.
Moria wanted Zombies because he didn't want to protect his crew anymore - he tells his zombies to "make him the Pirate King" where as Luffy say's "I will be the Pirate King" he will do it with his strength protecting his crew as they protect themselves and him.
