Jesus I am gone for like 2 days and I come back to AGOG level posts. I read the first couple posts, and then said fuck it. I mean how can you honestly believe that Handjob is really going to follow Luffy around in the New World. This is fucking AWFUL.

RE: Luffy's Message
SA2Y = Sabaody Arpilechigo (spelled it wrong i know) 2nd Yarikuman Grove.
16 bells is meet up at beginning of next year.
Sounds logical, but how does OP calendar work? If it is the same as ours, Luffy's bday is May 5th, so what do they do for the 4 months prior to his bday(next adventure when Luffy is 18)?

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
what is worse an island of haki trained warriors or the blackbeard pirates.
what is worse an island of haki trained warriors or one of the yonkou
what is worse an island of haki trained warriors or the revolutionary army
what is worse…
They don't go Yonkou hunting. They also said they hope that BB is taken out by one of the Yonkou. So that leaves the revolutionary army. How do you find them though? Should they just have their forces be on stand by at all times just incase? You make it seem like they would have to have a huge force to destroy AL. Like I said, 2 VA or Aokiji on his bike would suffice just fine, and what, they have to be gone for like a week?

RE: Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
i'm not saying an admiral maybe could destroy all of amazon lily
but you guys are talking 100% that it would be first priority, send 3 admirals, sacrifice virgins and so on in order to destroy them.
how come they didn't send an admiral to kill luffy when he got a 30 million bounty?
Aokiji is chilling in his office right now. Why couldn't they just be like, "Hey we need you to ride your bike over to AL and destory the place". So in a month or two when things die down why wouldn't they be able to send an admiral, or a couple VC's.
What is worse 1 pirate crew that is only worth 30 million, or a whole island of haki trained warriors that are against the WG?

RE: Moria's fate
Moria managed to get away, or else he would be dead. From what we heard, Kaidou isn't like Luffy. He wouldn't leave his opponent alive if he had the occasion. And if Moria managed to escape from Kaidou, he can escape from Doflamingo.
I don't think you understood what I was talking about. During that post I was talking about whole crews, not just single pirates. So yes, Moria himself escaped, but his whole crew died. I was saying Moria's crew would be able to escape if they were "equal" like my other examples.

RE: Moria's fate
I doubt Moria could have ran away from fucking Kaidou, dude
They were considered "equal" though, so I would think that he would be able to get away. There have been many skirmishes, WB vs Roger, Kaidou vs Shanks, Roger vs Shiki. These people are/were pretty much equal to each other.
This argument is stupid as fuck
Very dragged out, my fault for not post more clearly.
Well yes I understand that and I'd agree to an extent although (over)confidence and pride (weaknesses) plays a factor in any decision when it comes to running or surrendering.
We don't know much about Kaidou or his abilities or his crew. Could've been some trump card insta kill move that made Moria lose his crew.
Overconfidence and stupidity are kind of the same to me lol.

RE: Moria's fate
@Zik:
Doesn't make much sense. That'd mean anyone who ever lost a fight in OP was dumb. That's not really the case. Strength does not indicate intelligence or lack thereof.
I think I might be phrasing what I am saying wrong. I think Moria was dumb to not realize the gap in strength of the two crews, and continuing to fight. At the same time I guess we really don't know if Moria tried to run or surrender. So my reasoning for him being dumb, is off my impression that he choose to fight Kaidou and didn't try to retreat.
By the way, I am impressed that we were able to have a debate like this with no insults. Pretty rare on forums lol.

@Zik:
I'm a fan but the Art of War isn't absolute. You can't be seriously applying military warfare to the everyday happenings of individual in fights or the ones in the context of a fictional pirate manga. The argument was never about whether or not fights are dumb but the choices prior to it and whether or not those choices make you dumb. Besides this is a shonen action adventure battle manga. If you think fights are dumb you're reading the wrong comic.
Just because a fight is dumb doesn't mean it can't be entertaining. All I initial said was Moria was dumb for fighting Kaidou.

@Zik:
^I could never agree to that narrow minded view on intelligence as it pertains to any kind of engagement and prior knowledge of your opponent.
According to you everyone has a high probability of being dumb when it comes to fighting.
I think you rely way too much on information gathering when it comes to a fight. You could have all the info, choose to fight, think you'll win and still get your ass kicked. Then you'd feel even more like a dumbass despite doing the smart thing.
Not a fan of The Art of War? Most fights are dumb. Fights are suppose to be the last option.

RE: Moria's fate
@Zik:
It's happened countless times in real life and in the OP story.
What did Luffy know about Kuro before fighting him? What did Kuro know about Luffy? What did Luffy know about Morgan? What did Morgan know about Luffy? What did Luffy know about Buggy? What did Buggy know about Luffy? What did Luffy know about Kreig? What did Kreig know about Luffy?
I never said anything about having a plan before fighting them. don't just bring up new things that wasn't previously discussed. Moria could of had a plan without any intel on Kaidou before fighting him
And just to be clear who says Moria didn't have some intel on Kaidou and felt with that knowledge he could beat him and just lost anyway?
This is quite the dumbass statement. Especially after I clearly distinguished what I was talking about. Maybe you should go back and find where I said challenging someone without intel on them makes them smart. Please go find that statement in any of my posts.
It isn't a dumb plan either. Especially if it works out for you. You mean to seriously tell me Whitebeard had intel on every person he fought before he fought them? or that he was dumb for not having intel before he chose to fight someone?Tunnel vision.
I'm not talking about "planning ahead" which BB did not do. His plan was become a shichibukai so he could steal a marine ship, leave Marine HQ, break in to ID, and recruit. Planning ahead would be making sure you'd have each step of your plan secure before you did it which BB obviously didn't do after getting pwned by Magellan.We aren't going to get any where. We clearly aren't seeing eye to eye on this.
But, to put my point simply, before you attack someone you should have information on them. It is the smart thing to do. Whether it be the strength of an opponent, the size of his army, his weakness, etc.
In every situation you have three options, fight, flee or fuck. This is where the information helps out, it helps you determine which one to do. If I bump into someone at the bar, I must do one of these three things. If he is stronger than me, I'm not going to fight him. If he is a dude, I'm not going to fuck him. Leaving me with my last option and that is to flee(ignoring him in this situation). In this same situation, would it be smart of me to just spin around and throw a punch before I even have any information on him? No, it would be stupid, what if he is a huge bouncer, but than again, it could work out for me and he is a little wimpy kid.
In OP the same type of situations occur. Luffy sometimes just spins around and throws a punch, he doesn't gauge the persons strength ahead of time. Other times he doesn't have any other option, but to fight(can't flee, and its OP so fucking won't happen). Examples would be Arlong, and cp9. Does him engaging in these fights make him dumb(having no info on who he is fighting)? Yes, but at the time he has no other choice but to do something dumb.
In conclusion - Moria fight kaidou, was a dumb move on his part. He obviously didn't have enough information, or misinformation. This is the thing I said that started this whole debate.
