We're any of the soft-subs for the CAM-rip versions any good? If so, someone could quickly knock-out and re-time one of them? Been waiting so long, I think I can't resist this copy even though I'll have nightmares with SAMPLE in the top left corner of my minds-eye for the following week…
-
Where are any links to the softsubs for the cams?
-
is this the director cut ver.?

Wow you're like two or three months late :O

My brother and I watched the movie a couple hours ago. I managed to go into this movie with very little spoilers outside of the trailer itself. I can't believe that I managed that. I loved it. The rest of this is going to be spoilers don't say I didn't warn you!
! Probably the best point of Strong World would be that all of the characters are 'on model'. They look like the comic brought to life. That was a treat in itself. The anime most often looks nothing like the manga.
! This movie really showcased Nami's actual use outside of being attractive, although that is covered nicely as well. Nami has near super natural weather detecting/Navigating skills, something that Shiki (being a greedy fuck) couldn't live without. Normally it's 'Nami the cat burglar' or 'Nami the Conniving Bitch' ( I guess that conniving bitch wasn't good enough for the wanted poster) not 'Nami the Navigator'. I have to say that I enjoyed the movie using that side of Nami. It was refreshing to see her actual reason for being on the crew. So of course Shiki kidnaps Nami after tricking the Straw Hats. He then beats them (yeah I said BEATS) with the Sunny knocking them down on to floating islands separating them.
! The next bit of the movie is all of the characters running around doing their thing trying to reunite with each other. The funniest of which had to be the Usopp/Sanji combo. Sanji keeps screaming for Nami and Robin and on account of him being so loud more and more giant animals show up, much to Usopp's dismay. It was hilarious.
! Baby-chan (Nami) is hanging out with Shiki being as hot as she can be. She is told of Shiki's grand plan to use a drug called IQ to make all the animals huge and aggressive. When she questions why Shiki told her any of this he tells her it's because she's "part of the crew now". Baby-chan escapes from Shiki's lair with a new friend Electric Caru.. I mean Billy.
! Eventually the crew (minus Franky, Brook, and Robin) all get back together only for Shiki to come to reclaim Nami. The entire crew (minus individuals mentioned above) have a sunset showdown with Shiki only for them to end up in a spiral of rocks. Nami agrees to go with Shiki.
! Shiki being a sadistic bastard makes Nami leave a 'goodbye' message for the crew. Nami leaves her message on a tone dial and departs with Shiki.
! Franky, Robin, and Brook all show up to see the rest of the crew encased in a stone spiral. After they get free they listen to the tone dial. Nami says that Shiki is a legendary pirate and that they will all be killed if they try to get her. Luffy freaks out and punches stuff.
! Nami betrays Shiki and tries to blow up all of the IQ plants. Her plan is foiled by Shiki himself and he imprisons her with well placed rods.
! The Straw Hats burst into Shiki's lair and lay waste to as much as they can with Bazookas and guns. Usopp looks the coolest because of his helmet. Luffy tells Usopp and Chopper to find Nami. Usopp rides Chopper like a HORSE! Why hasn't this happened before?! That was one of the coolest scenes in the movie! This all sets up for the last bit of the movie.
! Luffy has a satisfying final confrontation with Shiki and kicks him with a Gigant Axe accompanied by lightning fueled by Usopp's awesome new Dragon move (and a MEGASTORM). Shiki is knocked unconscious down into the ocean. All the islands start to fall…
! It's like the Straw Hats didn't even think for a moment what would happen to the FLOATING ISLANDS if they beat Shiki... It's a good thing all the villagers were bird people. That could have been a big OOPS moment. Oh. Too bad for all the stupid animals...
! Shiki's 'death' is left open. I'm sure Indigo or the Ape could end up saving him from drowning. Like most One Piece villains just having his dream crushed by Luffy is enough to probably deter Shiki. Although it would be kind of badass and completely unexpected if he were to show up in the manga.
! The crew parachute down from the falling islands using Shiki's pirate flag. After they all settle back down on the ship Luffy asks for an explanation about the tone dial message. Luffy in his anger earlier in the movie didn't hear the entire message where at the end she says in spite of all of those things she mentioned the crew would "definitely come and save her".
! I knew that there had to be more to the message on the tone dial and even though I expected it, nearly word for word, It still managed to choke me up. How could Nami not have faith that Luffy would save her? The ending was perfect! The funny thing is Shiki's plan most likely would have worked had he not been a greedy asshole. All bad guys have their faults I suppose. If only he hadn't kidnapped Baby-chan…
This movie was well worth the 'blind' Blu-ray purchase. Now all I need to get is a Blu-ray player. And an HDTV.

wow this news made me post lol
big thank you

i think you need to be a child 9 years old to say this is a great movie cause is a very PG13 for-childs movie and i love one piece but i think the movie is very very children's and i recommend THE SERIE but the movie not, anyway i know you like this movie but is so creepy to me

Like it or not, One Piece IS meant for children; Movie, comic or show. And when did PG-13/children's entertainment come to automatically mean bad or un-enjoyable?
Anyway, I agree with piratesan wholeheartedly. I absolutely loved it!

One Piece is a children's series.
By a happy coincidence, like all great children's shows, the quality of the writing and humour allow it to be enjoyed by adults as well. -
Anyone notice the newly added scenes yet? Cause I personally didn't notice them^^;;.

I doubt the added scenes would be in a review screener.
-
Actually, Shonen manga like one piece are aimed for boys between 10 and 18 I believe, so while older kids as part of the target, teens are a larger part of it. Although I suppose that varys from Manga to Manga in the demographic, but given One Piece's popularity, I'm guessing tons of teens read it as well. Although some people would still classify teens as children I suppose
-
This movie is a masterpiece and im starting to think it takes place after they reunite…...
-
Watched it, it was awesome. Although it was nothing special, I thought it was done nicely and it was very fun to watch.
The animation was awesome for most of the important scenes, I was surprised the animators were the usual One Piece animators. Their performance here was just awesome.
-

When you get a ton more time and money, you get a better end product.
-
When you get a ton more time and money, you get a better end product.
That's true…But it also depends on the animation director.
Which, btw...I loved his style.
-
Oh, ok then. Maybe the extra scenes are probably the teaser trailer after Chopper's movie or something. If anyone manages to see them, I hope they post them here soon.
-
Did anyone release a sub or should I do it? the raw is shitty :V

As far as I can see, there is no sub yet, if you're willing to sub it (which I'm quite sure you are), that'd be great.
-

The Raw isn't actually that shitty, but if you're worried about it, just do a softsub release of the sample (so you don't have to worry about encoding or distributing a huge file for a sample version) and then, rework the sample script to include the new scenes when the DVD/BD Version hits and then do a full release.
-
I'm waiting for Yibis Release! :(
Does anyone know if they're working on it? Or are they gonna wait the Dvd and Blu Ray on 8/27?

You're seriously doing it? Oh good, I can breathe again.

No 9-year-old's children's programming would flaunt tits every 5 seconds in the face of the camera. But this is japan we're talking about.
And besides, it's a movie. The beauty of One Piece is that a lot of its darker scenes are few and far inbetween. And even when they do happen, they only take place after they've had time to develop properly. The only exception would be the 6th movie, which was in another universe to begin with.
That reminds me, what would you guys rank this movie with the past One Piece movies? I'd like to hear just how good it was.
-
It might be kind of late though, I have a flight tomorow from vancouver to dubai. it's gonan take a few days at least

Both. Vegard has translated the screener but we won't release until we have the BluRay.
-
Me and Zkaiser just watched it, and despite being no subtitles, it was easy to understand. Clearly half the dialogue can be filled with "East Blue is the land of champions."
-

Thanks for the info and the attention. That's one of your best qualities! Don't ever lose that!
So, I'm gonna wait for your release! =D

shonen jump is for the 14+ crowd, bro.
i think most readers recently are 17-19, according to polls the readership is getting older.
but, it's not like it's adult-only entertainment or ever was. what's wrong with all-ages stuff? most ANIME ESPECIALLY is made for kids too young to read the manga.the manga is for teens/pre-teens, and the anime version is for an even younger audience..
fdein is actually subbing this?!
-
congrats to fdein if he does, lord knows what the point is on sitting on a finished translation for a month+
-
And just roughly a week before school starts as well.
-
really hoping for a speed sub. I also don't see the reasoning behind waiting for the bluray to sub, this sample is a perfectly watchable release that only lacks a few extra scenes that apparently weren't important enough to the plot to be included in the theatrical release.
-

fdein to the rescue!

これは警告だ。 Shiki is a BAD ASS. Fuwa Fuwa no mi sounds so cutesy. I love the dynamic. Great movie. I think that this one is up there with movie six.
I think I'm gonna watch this again. Just one more time before I get my Bluray…
-

The movie doesn't take place at any point in the series. I really don't get why some people can't just watch the movie and enjoy it without speculating over pointless stuff like this.
-
Because we're Americans and that's the American way.
-

We ARE enjoying the movie and it's NOT pointless speculation when Oda himself had a major hand in making the movie, purposely released a manga tying in Roger's history with Shiki's past (which was later animated and titled into "Episode 0"), said events were made canon in both the anime and manga (Shiki's escape from prison, and his first attack on Marineford), and the movie went out of its way to explain a simple fashion change for Nami that happened all the way back in the East Blue arc.
All I'm saying is that while its possible that the movie is non-canon there sure is a hell of a lot of evidence indicating that this movie isn't. Why put this much effort into putting all these little clues and easter eggs in the canon material and the movie itself if this is just an alternate universe?
