You have no basis for that statement. Just because he was "stunned" and didn't immediately proceed does not mean they're equal. When Luffy attacks logias and they don't immediately proceed to attack it doesn't seem that his rubber DF is equal to their logia DF.

No but there we see the logia phasing/regeneration kicks in, which acts as a immediate response to Luffy's attacks making them ineffective. We really don't see this type of response when Croc attacks Akainu. Also I figured they were equal or at least close not really based off of the assumption that Croc stunned Akainu with his attack but on their track record of ability use thus far. One more thing that I noticed was that the sand produced by Croc suffered no real alteration when it came in contact with Akainu's magma body.

None of this explains why they'd be equal tho. Just because they're capable of something other logias have yet shown to be able to do does not mean they're equal.

No, but Lucci has better mastery over the technique as a whole and would have more strenght off the bat due to his zoan abilities. About magma "cancelling" fire, I understand that as fire being smothered by magma (by depriving it of air to continue burning), and thus forcing Ace back into being flesh, just like water would turn Croc into mud, thus forcing him back into his natural form.

Hell's judgment and the stinger attack were the only acidic venom attacks the reast of the Doku Doku's arsenal consents of paralyzing venom, and various gases. Wax doesn't have nerves so the paralyzing venom of the hydra won't work, but Hell's judgment is acidic and was able to eat through the Doru Doru constructs. As stated before the Doru Doru were used as a means of blocks and striking Magellan without actually touching him or suffering the effects of the paralysis venom. So my point is that not all of Magellan's attacks were acidic and when they were they couldn't through the Doru Doru constructs despite them being as hard as steel.

have u ever seen a cartoon where theres like a snake or some type of poison in it where it hits the ground it makes a sizzling noise like water on a stove to kinda enhance the pressance of the poison like omg the poisons so bad its melting stuff! its that kinda effect that oda was going for

? I'm not an expert, but I think that acids (or most of acids) are poisonous. Sulfuric acid is.

Now for my own theory … I know it's insane ... but I think Blackbeard will eventually ally with Luffy. They have a lot in common, and while Blackbeard has done some pretty nasty things, the fact remains that the true enemy is the World Government/Marines. Also, Blackbeard is so far the only known enemy D ... and what we know about the D's so far really implies that most of them are good in the end.
Also, I expect this to be a controversial suggestion ... but I expect Smoker, possibly Tashiki to ally with the Straw Hats (possibly join, but I don't want it to go nearly that far). Simple thing is, Smoker is very strongly in support of "Moral Justice", and one of the most intelligent members of the marines. He must already realize that the World Government is corrupt; his view on justice, however, directs him to focus on the pirates. I see him eventually realizing that the good deeds the Straw Hats perform more than atone for their transgressions, and he's given the proverbial middle finger to his superiors in the past anyways. Pretty much the only thing against this is that Smoker is, by all accounts, the most invulnerable character in the entire series (how the hell do you fight SMOKE?!?! The man has no apparent weakness!), and therefore would make one rather interesting final boss ... but with that kind of morality, I don't expect him to actually fight Luffy to the death. I only mention Tashiki because, face it, she's a lost cause without her precious Smoker...

Eeep, I ought to clarify that … I've seen the most recent few episodes, and read the most recent few chapters ... I'm trying to stay caught up with current stuff, due to ... certain recent events. At the same time, I'm working from the beginning to make sure I have it all. Anything that really confused me, well, I kinda cheated and used the wiki. I know at least recently what Blackbeard has done, though some of the earlier stuff I don't know much about. It's true I'll probably be proven wrong very shortly. What I said about Smoker is almost entirely based off what I have seen so far. Sorry for the confusion ^^;;
As for the progress ... in the manga, I'm at Laboon (need to update the sig), and in the anime, I'm at Rainbow Mist. But I'm catching up quickly!
EDIT: Also, buttloads of TVTropes experience, should point that out too ... by now I pretty much know a good outline for the series, but that's not the same as actually reading/watching it...
The reason first aid was needed in this last chapter was because Dragon was heavily wounded from his fight with an admiral of the time. It was at this point that dragons infamy was spread as he not only attacked the nobles that killed sabo but he defeated the admiral that came after him for doing so. He did manage to kill the admiral by biting off his head in his haki dragon form but the earth logia admiral of the time was able to break and crush a few of his bones thus the need for immediate first aid.

The marines must think Luffy is dead now so if a timeskip of say a year happens and Luffy shows up again stronger than ever Sengoku must freak out at Garp again, while Garp laughing his ass off as always :) can't wait :P
I can also see Akainu or Kizaru going to hunt Luffy :)
There's no reason to assume the marines assume Luffy's dead.
Kizaru/Aokiji combo attack against Law's ship, not that they believe it completely but they're optimistic about his death (cf Kizaru's comment)
