Isn't Jinbei too strong to join? I always thought that Oda had mentioned that the "Monster Trio" would always remain the same (i.e. The 3 top fighters of the SH crew would be Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji). Not sure about Luffy but I think it's safe to say that Jinbei (and likely Hancock) is stronger than both Zoro and Sanji, considering previous encounters with Shichibukai.

TBH, If it's gonna be someone we've already met, Perona does seem more likely than anyone else (maybe Marguerite to keep an eye on Luffy for Hancock, but that seems like a stretch).

After reading the nakama threads for the past few months I have come to believe that this is exactly what some of those people believe.

And at the risk of getting flamed, yes AGOG goes a little overboard sometimes but to me his arguments seem somewhat reasonable and not the ramblings of a madman.
If people actually bothered to read them…

Another thing that hurts Jinbei is Fishman Island because we know nothing of it. Perhaps there are fishman that are close to Jinbei and will join in his stead. Perhaps, Jinbei turns cynical and some outsider ends up joining– just the truth of there being no information about FI leaves readrs unable to make a choice on Jinbei because there isn't anything we can expect from it.

You have to be able to use the word "perhaps", or this wouldn't be speculation. It would be straight out fact, and we don't have that. Our goal, however, is to make that "perhaps" as credible as possible using logical arguments.

Or in AGOG's case there, provide additional "perhapses" to arguments already made, because there can be more than one solution to a problem.

What does that have to do with fanfics?

Similiar to how some people suggest Perona could join Law or Buggy, or how she'll stay behind in Kuragaina, as a counter-solution to her joining Luffy.

It's not an actual counter-argument, but it takes away the "This character will join 100%" by providing other ways the character could have his role played out.

What is she going to do near the end? But concerning AGOG's reply to your post, flame me all you want, but I don't think you were being reasonable either. Your argument doesn't provide an alternate storyline speculation, it provides an insult to Oda about how he would just think up his plots for the heck of it.

And if you look closer, AGOG actually does make a counter-argument eventually. Your argument is "Perona was paired up with Zoro as a random idea just for entertainment purposes," and AGOG replies by bringing up how Perona was sent away from Thriller Bark to begin with. "If Perona was just added for the heck of it, then why put so much effort into it? Oda is a much better writer than that."
