@HaxeyeMihawk:
Why are you assuming that I'm assuming that? What I'm saying is that that's one role that is nearly guaranteed
So wait if Sabo plays that role but still has a bigger purpose then there's nothing to complain about correct? or are you saying you don't want him to play that role at all?
Another nearly guaranteed outcome is that there will be some sappy emotional reunion
Again, should this not happen? Is this not expected? Will this be Sabo's main purpose? If it's part of the many roles he may play is that a bad thing?
the question that you don't seem to understand that I'm asking is twofold
I'm shocked you haven't figured out what my answer to these questions would be by now but I'll answer anyway. Regardless of what I think though these questions don't justify this possible scenario you bring up where Sabo would just play those roles resulting in a pretty lame and random reason to bring a character back from the dead.
Will Sabo have some major role in the plot beyond brotherly relationship?
Yeah.
Is a question of whether or not it'll be a big enough role to justify giving Luffy another brother in the story?
Yeah.
Again moral support is something that Sabo is almost guaranteed to provide unless he comes back and he and Luffy butt heads, now I'm not saying that that's all Oda has planned for him, I'm saying that whatever he has planned for him has to be pretty damn good
It will.
it won't justify bringing in another brother after having the first killed, and I don't think he'll have the same type of emotionally influential role that Ace has/will have on Luffy by dying.
That won't happen since he wouldn't be used just for that.
It's a pretty simple concept and it seems like I'm not the only one thinking this way.
It's probably passed all of the Sabo's dead supporter's minds that now realize he's alive. Given how far along we are in the story and what Oda's produced so far the answers to those worries should be a forgone conclusion since what he's doing here isn't on the scale of oh look Pell is alive, oh I guess that pirate being auctioned off didn't die, etc.
I mean you can think Oda's walking on egg shells with what he's doing and going to do with Sabo but what you're asking isn't a tall order at all.
It's not only because it's hard to do, it's in considering the chance that Sabo's role in the story could be overshadowed by Dragon's which also makes things more difficult in that Oda will likely have to give both characters pivotal roles in the story while both are likely to coexist in the same arcs.
So it'll be harder to do? All you did here was type out the exact task Oda has created for himself.
It sounds like you're just expecting Oda to create an Ace 2.0
Sabo: I must make Dragon's dream come true.
Ace: I must make WB PK.
And lol are you honestly telling me that there's not a single character in OP that you think Oda gave a shitty role?
LOL Is that what you're seriously getting from my responses? Every character plays a part in the story. What other character in this story has had such a set up and character development/foundation built around them (comparable to Sabo) and the purpose of the character was remedial, the outcome was completely shitty resulting in nothing but an ends to a means where that end turned out just be pretty shoddy, extra predictable bad story telling?
