I know the forum greatly influences me because I see lots of prize items I would never have known, and I get far more excited about releases. Plus when people finally put up pictures of what they have, it makes me want some things that I never thought I would have wanted...

Definitely wouldn't buy as much… I'm not diligent enough to check all the info on the online stores, toy fair sites, and various other sources on my own. Having this single thread that we can all contribute to and learn from is invaluable. Does my wallet hate this thread? Yes it does.
There's no way I'd be buying as much merch as I do now without this thread, haha. I don't let myself get hyped up for stuff like POPs when I know I really don't want it, though, so that's good.

Was going to write something among those lines. I kinda figured there would be a ton of merch for OP, but I never really cared.
I never was into collecting figures at all - before I noticed this forum I actually thought it was awfully silly and stupid to spend so much money on, you know, toys that just stand around getting dusty.
But I've always bought a lot of anime DVD, so I've always been "near" figures and stuff because of various online shops, such as Archonia. One day I read the news on said shop and stumbled across the GLM versions of Luffy and Ace.
And I knew - damn, I need those. It would have stopped with the GLM and WCF if it hadn't been for this forum. It made me buy older stuff I would have never known of otherwise, namely Luffy MILD POP, IK Luffy Gear 2nd or IK Nightmare Luffy (notice how these last two are the most expensive figures in my collection by far).
So yeah, in terms of money, this forum is a nightmare for me.
Have other people been getting their payment notifications from HLJ for the volume 3 mafia figures? They are still showing as on order in my account, but they are already listed as "Discontinued" on the site and I haven't gotten a payment request yet.

I mostly agree with this. If anything this thread has been great in educating me on what to buy and to systematically categorize the merchandise. Before on my trips to Japan I'd just blind buy whatever I see in malls/stores without knowing worth/value. I'm known to spend a decent amount on my hobbies anyhow all the time and if it isn't on this, probably would of gone to home theater anyway (the thought of going seperates away from my pre/pro is very tempting lately). I think it's great we got a nice community here sharing knowledge and photos to help people make an informed buying decision.
Yeah this thread definatly makes me buy more. In fact it was only about 6 months ago that I knew nothing about One Piece merch despite being a massive fan of the series. Then I had a bit of money to spend so though I'd come on here and see whats what. Now 1/2 a year and a ridiculous amount of money spent later, here I am :S

It's never for sure with Megahouse (like most Japanese figure makers), but it's listed as late June. So this means probabaly 6/28-6/30 release date unless it gets pushed back.

Marineford Kuji Ace. Honestly, he is not THAT bad…but I'm not the picky type and am easy to please. His face is a bit off from some angles but can be displayed just fine from a lot of angles...I tried to take pics to demonstrate this....but as usual, pictures don't do these figures justice, they really aren't that bad in person. Very nice details in the chains.

Big Daddy Marineford Kuji Whitebeard….yeah....huge.....not much else to say. Great details expected of a Kuji figure....once again the super closeups of his face floating around ruins it but he is a great figure....ROFL at it not fitting in one of my detolfs:

Usopp SW POP…..ROFL at the # of accessories....overwhelming when you first open it. Sorry but my faith in Megahouse still remains, I popped his head on and off about 5-7 times because I had to experiment how to best put all his accessories on him and had no problems. Like all manufactured products there are defects and sucks some people had issues. But damn, Megahouse always gives Usopp awesome treatment on POP....just like the previous SogeKing one:

Robin SW POP. 1 word…sexy. I love the figure with the ponytail and her glasses....awesome mature expression and really captures Robin's essence much more than the previous POP. The lingerie underneath is a bit ridiculous though....serves 0 purpose as others have pointed out:

Yes even if I'm not a member of the forum I still buy many OP merchs. But one of the good things of being a member here is knowing that there are bootlegged OP merch. And I can thoroughly check before buying it or know where to buy the original collectibles.
