Dislikes:
1.) Too Much Fanservice. (agree, ^Aoi Neko, puffin)
I am a GIRL. I've SEEN it. :getlost:Admittedly I can put up with a lot but sometimes it's just too much, unless I reeeally enjoy the plot/character development. And even then it's like "Oh god, not THIS again… GET BACK TO THE PLOT~!!"
2.) "Unnecessary" Filler (also applies to MOE)
I can understand the usage of filler in most cases, especially in long shonen series like One Piece, DBZ, Naruto, Blech.. the anime needs to play catch up with the manga so it doesn't just drop off the face of the earth. Some of the filler actually feels like it's not filler in certain cases, and can be entertaining at times –but things like those god-awful One Piece movie 10 tie-in episodes were unforgivable, especially when they come up with the same rinse-and-repeat disposable characters (that annoying Marine girl). If they were going to tie something in with the movie, why not chapter 0?? Waay more epic and actually connects with the storyline. Also what I don't like in other shows is diverging off the main plot so much you forgot what everyone was supposed to be doing in the first place coughnarutocough And also DragonBall GT. Teen Trunks in hiking shorts and Goku turns into a pink monkey? No sir.
OR not so much in the case of the plot, but on the moe side, adding something that is completely to draw more (male) numbers in, specifically for the anime. A certain example that is bugging me right now is for the new season of K-On! that was supposedly at one point adding another female character, that was NOT at any point in the manga after the anime stopped. I actually found out about it on THIS forum, surprisingly (one of my first ventures out of the OP-only related threads), and she was cute and blonde–no, not Mugi, cuter and curvier, and her tag-line was supposedly something along the lines of "I want to sleep with 100 boys before I graduate."
(spoilered for K-On! rant)
! W. T. F??? X/ First of, this show takes place in an ALL GIRL school. Director, I know you want guys to attach to the sluttiness factor, but can you pay attention to the source? I don't even remember a distinct male character outside of the guy who works at the music store, and maybe Mugi's butler. Will the slut-fest be off screen, or are we to be subjected to dozens of trivial male characters in an entirely female-driven show? And if this is part of the joke and she realizes–stupidly--too late that it's a girl-only school, does that mean they'll turn to the, "okay, so I'll just date girls instead! Tee-hee~!" moe plot device, like some japanese dating-sim game or some yuri-driven all girl school romance? (not that they're horrible, but that's not THIS show.) That's worse and unnecessary to the fullest. I MUST POINT OUT I don't know if this character is real since I haven't heard of it since, but the idea of it still pisses me off COMPLETELY. I like K-On! ONLY because it's moe that I can tolerate; the natural, innocent kind, and it never tried to cross that line before (plus the music is addicting to me). This filler character is the line. Also along the filler lines as far as anime adaptations of manga go, I was excited to hear about the second season of Black Butler, since the anime just felt like it kind of stopped, and the manga has some really interesting storylines to play with. Only to find out that the second season will not even star the same two main characters, it's an entirely different cast. WTF again, anime. O_o Was Sebastian's demon bulter-ness and Ciel's pure loli-shota NOT enough to draw in the rampid fangirls? Why would we want to watch an anime with the same name but with characters we don't even know?
Oh wait, that's Digimon seasons 3+… (so many lulz...)
