Its actually his cardiovascular system being shown, his heart, lungs, RBCs, arteries/veins.
Hajime no Ippo

Oh boy, could it be!?! Could Ippo's punches fucked him up to the point that his body was obliterated leaving him a broken mess with a ruined career? Welp, if that's the case, I think we can officially say this fight didn't suck.
-
So…Ippo actually pulled a Kenshiro with those small punches?
waits for scans
-
lol what? Fucking jungle boy who jumps from tree top to tree top cant last 45 min in the ring?
-
Didn't something similar happened to Ippo when he fought that Kazuki Sanada, precisely damaging Ippo's abdominal area to tire him out?
-
lol what? Fucking jungle boy who jumps from tree top to tree top cant last 45 min in the ring?
I think you're selling Ippo strenght short…
Which has ALWAYS been his main trait.
-
So I was trying to find the word to best describe my feelings for this chapter.
I found it.
-
I think you're selling Ippo strenght short…

I wouldnt have bought it even if Takamura himself that was the one doling out the five love taps.
-
Takamaru KO'd a bear and you think some love taps from him can't handle an inexperienced featherweight?
Okay, now you're being ridiculous. Though I can buy the anger over Ippo delving out the love taps from hell.
-
Takamura punching him, would kill him. Takmura nudging him with his fist, would do diddlysquat.
Weirds me out how Woli seems to fluctuate betwenn unbelivably powerful superman, and total wimp.
-
I can't describe how satisfying it is to see Woli's smirk wiped clean off his face. If him struggling is enough to make me this happy and excited, imagine when he finally gets one in the face:D
-
In boxing even love taps can be fatal if dealt by incredibly tough fighters.
There's a reason people feared Mike Tyson's punches…
-
I can almost guarante that neither Mike Tyson nor any other hard hitter in the history of the sport ever completly stopped a world class fighter's legs by nudging them lightly eleven times in a row.
Ah well, if nothing else the fight will atleast be over soon.
-

Ok… this is an anime... so clearly Ippo's power is an exxageration.
But love taps in boxing that look like they do ZERO damage and wind up creating a body KO HAVE been known to happen. Off the top of my head I can think of at least 3 guys that have "knocked out" people with soft looking punches (no face shots at all).
John "Jon" Molina, Hector "Macho" Camacho and Felix "Tito" Trinida.
-
Certainly do able with a punch in the right place, and that's pretty much my point.
I would've bought it in a second if Ippo ever actualy punched the grinning monkey, the man has without a doubt the power to do it. But the whole zero power poke attack suddenly crushing the legs of a guy who jumps 10 feet up into the air regularly?
Now that's just some o'l bullshit.
-
I'm with Wolfwood.
But than again, I've grown to enjoy reading Hajime no Woli! So, I'm biased.
-
dude that chapter was so sweet. seeing woli getting pulled down to the pavement by ippo's spirit was too good for words. now lets see him pussiefoot around now
-
Man, that chapter finally sorta gave me a sigh of relief. I mean for the past couple of chapters Ippo barely did anything except tickle the sides of Wali. Still it's a bit hard to swallow that it would effect him that much. But hey I'll wait for the scientific explanation next chapter.
-
@RPG:

I kind of thought it was absolutely retarded, actually. He looked like a boxing ring ghost or some shit.
"durr, what did you do to my legs, durr"
-
But hey I'll wait for the scientific explanation next chapter.
It's a little known fact that if you tickle Indoneasian people in the ribs they lose all power.
It's their achilles heel, and the main reason no Indoneasian boxer ever became world champion:ninja:
-
No more nonsensical than Sanada's "Medical Knowledge" or Shimabukuro's "No Oxygen State" and no less retarded.
-
The raw (891) is out and it largely speaks for itself, not too much need for a translation even (well, I think) but see for yourself if you want:
-
Hahaha, 890 is out and it's so awesome. Such a refreshing feeling to see Woli act like a total noob the moment he lost his magic feet.
-
! Eleven love taps from Ippo is = a career ending, single blow tekken. Now, imagine if this mutha fucker actually decided to use half of his power instead of just tapping or even worse… bring out the entire 55-gallon barrel of ass kicking. R.I.P. Woli.
-
chapter 890, page 14.
Yes.
-
I'd call this a bullshit if Ippo actually manages to win, he has been getting mauled almost entire match and now suddenly when his coach is about to end the match Woli gets this magical impariment?
I dislike Woli as much of anyone but its just pathetic if Ippo manages to win this, it would be better for Ippo to lose and get some charecter development and rework his fighting style, if he is going win this then his coach will just congratulate him and continue with same endurance and power training…

Really? I'd call this a Shounen manga.
-
-
It's still stupid. I don't think Shandian meant he was going to mail the author the word 'bullshit' or anything; you have to admit it's far more absurd in its extremity than even most similar shonen situations, and that's what bothers people. Morikawa is losing cred here is all.

It's 1 fight out of the hundreds we've been given since the beginning, I think it's okay to slip now and again every 900 chapters or so.
Wouldn't you agree?
-
As long as he hurries up and get's this trainwreck of a match out of my face post haste.
Then it's just up to him to justify this to god the best that he can.
-

That wasn't what I objected to, and even if it's okay to screw up (debatable) then surely it's okay for fans to be unhappy when that happens.
-
I'm all for Woli getting his ass kicked in any way no matter how illogical it is. The one thing that will redeem all of this for me is if Ippo fucking trains his ass off after this match and wrecks his next opponent. He's only had like… 2 or 3 official matches where he gave off the vibe of a champion (one-sided domination of the other opponent).
-
I'm with fdsf43ce and shandian.
Ippo has literally been rocked from the start, taking a one-sided beating we haven't seen since Martinez. Even Date didn't wreck him this bad. Hell, the way this fight has been going, Woli seems like he could beat Martinez! Ippo gives Woli quite literally a few love taps, the lightest of feather touches, and now all of a sudden Woli can't move?
I'm not gonna scream about it, but it is pretty stupid. If Ippo deserved to lose any fight, it was this one.
-
As much as I enjoyed seeing woli get smacked(jumped for joy n dropped n almost broke my phone) I agree how it happened was bullshit. I liked how Takamura expressed his option on the onset of woli's little problem
-
When will the anime return? The naimation was awesome (and it was hilarious like hell), but I thought for sure it will come out in February (like last yr…or was that December)?
-
this shit was nice. but like takamura said what the hell happened to all that monkey crap he was doing.
maybe woli just doesn't have stamina to go for long rounds. -
Chapter 891 is out on Onemanga!
-
Iron Fist…
Jesus.
-
This chapter might have saved this fight!
I like these kind of sentimental cornertalk. I liked how Miguel went from 'we can win this shit, finish him' - to, 'go learn a bit more'. -
Iron Fist…
-
Welp, I was satisfied with the explanation. Not only has it been displayed in a prior fight, it ties in to Ippo inheriting Kamogawa's will as his last son which was also mentioned previously.
Oh and I can't get enough of seeing Woli get the bejeezus beat out of him:D
-
Iron Fist…
Just saying it feels badass.
-
I happens a few times in OP, so I'll buy this BS excuse of an explanation. As absurd and ridiculous as it is, I like it, and will take it for what it's worth.
-
Well that sure was stupid.
-
Ok, it was a decent chapter and I think explanation is good enough but lets just finish this train wreck fight already.
-
Honestly, I enjoyed this chapter(it saved the fight for me). I hope this feeeling from this chapter continues on to the end of the fight.
On a sidenote, the iron fist, I saw that coming miles away. It's just like the Miyata vs Randy fight
-
NOPE not good enough.
-
FINALLY. This fight was getting so boring.
The next fight had better be Takamura or Sendo, we need a shot in the arm.
-
you mean two or three, the last two fights, (( Miyata's and Ippo's)) both were sort of long and seemed to drag on.
