Well, Red's Pikachu just owned my Pokemon. So I guess I should go level grind some more.
Find Earthquake, give it to something that gets STAB out of it.
Hilarity and ownege ensue.

Can anyone tell me where Full Incense in Mt.Mortar is? I've looked everywhere and can't find it.
Evolved Flaaffy and trained Growlithe a bit. Onwards to Masked Man Pryce.
I would be moving to the 4th badge if Voltorb flip wasnt a addictive game in goldenrod

I got to level four before my strategies started backfiring.
I'm thinking of trying to crack Bulbapedia's equation on it.
Ya'll are making me wanna re-buy a DS and get this game…

Finally started playing because I finally got the Pokemon I wanted to transfer over as level 1s for my basic team, still trying to figure out the exact team but the ones I have to choose from are Pidgey, Beedrill, Gible(Dragon Rage is an awesome move to have early game when all pokemon have under 40 HP), Growlithe(Hatched with Fire Blast :D), bulbasaur, squirtle, charmander, totodile, onix, nidoran, odish, mareep, turtwig, riolu, dunsparce, sentret, and an eevee.
Growlithe is absolutely guranteed as a staple.
Squirtle is most likely going to be in my squad the whole game.
Bulbasaur is the same as Squirtle.
Eevee with whatever evolution I choose is probably going to be in it for the majority.
Last two spots I have no clue on and am open to suggestions. Thinking about Riolu and Gible.
@sesshy–Since, I love how Magnezone has bailed me out against so many dragon encounters against Lance (due to a decent hybrid pull) and Rhyperior.
So either magnemite and rhyhorn are my personal favorites.
Thanks to Piloswine retaining the weakness to water, I now have the plot coupon to kick some Team Rocket ass (Again).

Wobuffett is a fucking tank. I need to retrain one up, or transfer the one I have over. He's like level 78 or close to it.
I finally leveled the crap out of my Eevee, and evolved it into an Umbreon. Will handed my ass to me before I got him. But, beating him, along with Koga and Bruno was a breeze after that. Now, all I have to do is level up my Sudowoodo and Granbul so I can beat Karen.

Incidentally… after Sarus helped me with names and some research I remembered my line-up from my only Pokémon game I ever owned (why the hell I sold my DS is beyond me...)

Do it now or tie you to a chair and read AGOG's latest wall of text out loud to you (…This would be torture more for me).
Then we have a lengthy discussion of where he went wrong without any bathroom breaks.
Okay! I bought Heart Gold on Amazon tonight, and I should be getting it in 3-5 business days. Hopefully 3.
I already know I'll be choosing a Cyndaquil as my starter, but my first order of business is finding an Aipom.
I have an aipom that i caught in Diamond on my wii (My Pokemon Ranch, don't ask) Would I be able to transfer that one to Heart Gold? If not, looks like I'm gonna have to start headbutting trees.

Marvel comics. Just search "cool story bro" and it's one of the first images you get.
Anybody know when Weepingbell evolves? Mine is lvl 44 and I don't think there's green stones in this.
Weepinbell evolves with a Leaf Stone.
@Badass:
Weepinbell evolves with a Leaf Stone.
do you know where i can find one? i remember buying one in the original silver at the kanto town with the grass gym, i look now it's gone

Winning the Bug Catching Contest gets you a random evolution stone.

I don't have the game yet, so I don't know where to find one.
You could also try building up points at the Pokeathlon Dome. They sell Leaf Stones on certain days.

Make phone friends with Gina on route 34. every now and again she'll randomly call you for a rematch or to say she has an item for you, and it'll be a leaf stone.
Of all the Rocket Executives, I like Petrel the most.
Seriously, the dude first shows up dress like Giovanni then runs straight into a wall. He's the fucking Hannyabal of Team Rocket.
Wait. So if I wanna evolve my Shellder and Gloom that means I'm gonna have to play some Mini Games? Damn. It's already bad enough that the amount of trainer rematches are so low this time around. :(
Just scored a Porygon-Z~!
EV training now. It sucks on ice, but I'm already seeing results, so it's worth it.
It's "Porygon3"! :getlost:
Has anyone actually caught a flying pikachu yet?
Damn, I totally forgot I got the Yellow Forest today.
I'm just too lazy to mess with the PokéWalker.
I'll do it tomorrow while registering for summer courses.
Has anyone actually caught a flying pikachu yet?
I fianlly managed to catch a surfing one yesterday, which is just about the same percentage of a chance. But no sign of the flying one yet.
No surprising, they're at like a 2% rarity after 10,000 steps…

The worst part of that whole thing is that you have absolutely no way of knowing that you've caught the Flying or Surfing Pikachu even after walking all those steps. So it's pretty much a shot in the dark and you just have to keep catching Pikachus and pray one of them is the flying or surfing one.

If its 3 exclamation marks, its guranteed to be one of the rare ones. But no, no way of knowing if its flying or surfing till after you've caught it and sent it over. (And only one of the two will be available any time you walk a course.)
If its 2 exclamation marks… well... it won't be the commonest ones, at least.
And the worst part of all, even if you DO get !!! so that you know for a fact its a surfer or a flyer... theres still no guarantee that you'll be able to catch it!
The pikachu course is just easily the most damning one since all 6 critters are the same and the rarest critters are incredibly low percentage plus a high step count.
You can send out a pikachu to do the walking, and that cuts the step count down to "only" 7500, but... ugh.
On the upside, the "rares" are easier to find in all the other courses in comparison.
Though really flying pikachu is just a crazy novelty. Surfing pikachu is actually practical and will do great in a rain dance set.

Well, not to mention it pretty much eliminates the rock/ground weakness. Still, ya gotta if it's really worth vesting all that time and effort into. I know I'm certainly not going to give myself a headache over it (especially since I can just use a Chinchou if I want to).
But yeah, good points. I had forgotten about the 3 exclamation point bit, but still, those rarely come up and you're still going to have to expend an assload of watts.
There is something fun about going out to the ocean and being god, though.
Though a Starmie can also surf and electrocute, so…
But dear lord, Gold and Silver... I'd forgotten back when Tentacruels were the ONLY thing that appeared on the surface of the water. I'd gotten so used to seagulls in Diamond providing some variety... They're goddamn ocean bats.
Thinking about switching my Noctowl with a Trapinch (to eventually get Flygon).
Will it be worth it? Or should i stick with Noctowl?

I would take a Flygon over a Noctowl any day.
All depends on what you like. Any critter can be great, or at least interesting, with a creative move pool and enough leveling.
In the course of the game you're expected to switch out critters dozens of times and change your team along the way, you aren't really expected to keep using anything you catch in the first 4 hours other than the starter.
If you caught it just outside of New Bark Town, odds are its full potential is gonna suck. In general, I'd say go with the Flygon instead.

That's a win there.

UGH! Being poisoned and wrapped?! Terrible bad childhood memories…
Ya know what I just love about Tentacools/cruels? The fact that a straight on shot of Thunderbolt from an Ampharos won't kill them.
Also, going through the Goldenrod Tower escapade. I repeat, Petrel is my second favorite villain.
Get to Lugia and I was expecting a decently hard time trying to catch it and it goes down in only 2 Dusk Balls. Anti-Climatic much?
Anti-Climatic much?
Compared to a Lv. 15 Wobbuffett who took fifteen Safari Balls to catch? Very.
Alright so entering Goldenrod city this is my team.
Lvl 21 Growlithe Bite/Flame Wheel/Fire Blast/Ember (Thinking I should of kept Roar for Ember)
Lvl 21 Ivysaur Cut/Take Down/Sludge Bomb/Razor Leaf(Ugh, he started with Petal dance but for whatever retarded reason I forgot it for Sleep Powder which I only kept until Take Down.)
Lvl 21 Wartortle Rapid Spin/Water Gun/Bubble/Bite
Lvl 21 Gible Take Down/Rock Smash/Sand Tomb/Dragon Rage (He needs to learn some good moves already)
Lvl 21 Pidgeotto Tackle/Whirlwind/Gust/Quick Attack (Same as Gible)
Lvl 21 Flaafy Headbutt/ThunderShock/Thunder Wave/Cotton Spore
So I have two questions about my team
1. Do you think I should just take my level 1 Eevee and make it into a jolteon to replace Flaafy? And if yes, what level should I evolve at?
2. I skipped from Red and Blue to Diamond and Pearl so I don't know anything about the games in between, but does Pidgeotto/Pidgeot still get to be bad ass at a high level or should I just replace him now?
Yes, replace Flaafy/Ampharos with Jolteon. Jolt is one of my favorite electric types, and it's awesome. If you do decide to use Jolteon, you have two options available to you: Baton Pass or no Baton Pass. If you want it to BP stats from Charge Beam and Agility, then level it up after it learns Baton Pass (somewhere in the 30s, I think). If you just want a fast-as-hell electric pokemon, then evolve it right away so it learns Thundershock while you level it up.
No Charizard?! Blasphemy!!!
