:P cheers, I just, have a tendency to over think things and I always think of the worst possible way my words can be taken. Anyway, I'll move away from the argument for now… suffice to say, I'd say the Tenryuubito are the most despicable beings IMHO atm.
Most Despicable Villain(s) so far…
-
-
lean towards the following explanation. I think he's just like his name implies: a Dog. In this case a vicious though otherwise braindead Doberman who is fiercely loyal to his owner and would jump off a cliff if he was told too, unfortunately I can't withdraw my vote as I've come to this conclusion after seeing the newest page.
There we can come to an agreement. Akainu fault is that he obeys without hesitation, he doesn't question his orders or his superiors, nor does he question their justice. He simply do as he is told, he embraces the justice he is told is right.^ Akainu truly is too trusting, too naive, too good for his world…
-
Aaand another fault is that he always seems to base his own orders upon other orders: Ordered to kill some people, orders to kill aaall the people of Ohara, for example.
-

I don't think Akainu is like that. He actually seems to have a personal hatred for pirates. The person you're describing sounds more like Kizaru, who doesn't seem like he's put any thought into his reasoning other than "we're good, they're bad, I must stop the bad guys" unlike Akainu, who really wants to defeat evil.
I don't even really think Akainu is that perfectly loyal. He blew up the refugee ship because he thought it was the best thing to do (even though no one else there on his side wanted that) and he went after Ace even though Sengoku was calling everyone back to fight Whitebeard. He's not as free-spirited as Aokiji but from what he's shown so far, he's willing to disobey orders or strike out on his own as long as he feels he's doing the right thing.
-
Let me organize this.
We have the main villains(henchmen or comrade)
-Buggy(Mohji, Cabaji)
-Kuro(Jango, Butchi, Sham)
-Don Krieg(Ghin, Pearl)
-Arlong(Hatchi, Kuroobi, Chu)
-Wapol(Chess, Marimo)
-Crocodile(Ms.All Sunday, Mr.1, Ms.Double Finger, Mr.2, Mr.3, Ms.Goldenweek, Mr.4, Ms Merry Christmas, Mr.5, Miss Valentines)
-Eneru(Satori, Shura, Gedatz, Ohm)
-Rob Lucci(Spandam, Kaku, Jyabura, Blueno, Kumadori, Kalifa, Fukurou)
-Gecko Moria(Oars, Hogback, Absolam, Perona)Then we get to Marineford, which is basically one epic battle between the 7 Sealords of the Sea, Blackbeard(and friends), Whitebeard(and Friends), , the three admirals, Sengoku, Buggy, Mr.1, Mr.2, Mr.3, other people, and Luffy.
-
Mr.2
Mr 2 isn't in the war. He is "supossedly" dead.
-
@Sir:

What I meant was that Akainu really has embraced WG ideals and justice and really believes that WG is doing the right thing (so come his hatred for pirates, the most prominent group of criminals (evildoers) in OPverse, who disturbs the order of WG). (That was what I meant with, believing as he was told^ too subtle I guess)
-
I voted for the Tenryuubito for obvious reasons.
@YamiYaminoMiLover:I'm not saying for the umpteenth time, he is definitely evil, just there is something wrong with him, whether he is evil, or he's imbalanced, or lacking in intelligence I just don't know.
I lean towards the following explanation. I think he's just like his name implies: a Dog. In this case a vicious though otherwise braindead Doberman who is fiercely loyal to his owner and would jump off a cliff if he was told too, unfortunately I can't withdraw my vote as I've come to this conclusion after seeing the newest page.
I wouldn't describe him like that as I think we don't know enough of him yet. Oda has given us an idea of his character, but there might be more than meets the eye. At least that's what I hope for, since he is, after all, one of my favourite characters. This of course doesn't mean I approve of his actions though (I definitely don't), and I do disagree strongly with his views. But with One Piece being the kind of series that it is, I'm afraid Akainu won't get the character development that I want him to.
And even if he is the "Red Dog," it doesn't make him a vicious (this word can be used to describe him though, to an extent at least), braindead Doberman who only knows how to obey and does WHATEVER he's told. Loyalty, fierce or not, doesn't always go hand in hand with stupidity or the lack of the ability to think for oneself.
I think that when he mocked Whitebeard to Ace before killing him, for instance, shows that he's capable of acting on his own accord. But I'm not sure whether you were exaggerating with the word "braindead" or using it literally or as a figure of speech.

I didn't see this post until after I was done with mine, but I agree. He doesn't blindly follow all given orders.
I have nothing more to add for now as it's 3AM over here, so I'm going to bed.
-
I picked Akainu, but it's not cause I'm an ace fanboy. Since Akainu is my favorite marine. But he fulfills absolute justice and honestly is the best villian i've seen in so long. He just will never give up, he got quake punched twice and is still going at it.
Akainu will be one of the best characters, even if he can be a total sadist. -
Yonkou Marco @ This poll wasn't for the best villain, but for the most evil, wicked, vile and heinous villain. Hence Akainu shouldn't even be on the poll, if we go after his character.
-
Marco you will NEVER become a yonkou.
-
I'm kind of surprised that Akainu gets so much flak, yet Morgan is hardly mentioned at all. It's as if the sheer number of deaths Sakazuki was responsible for overshadows Morgan's corruption (ordered civilians to pay tribute money to him above and beyond whatever tax is levied on them by the WG), self-aggrandizement (used said funds to have a statue of himself built), depravity (ordered the immediate execution of one of his subordinates for nicking said statue by accident- ordinarily, the damage could be corrected by a skilled artisan for a nominal fee, paid out of the offending private's pay-on the basis that "an attack against this statue is no different than an attack against my own person".), and blatant disregard for military protocol (allowed his son to order about the Marines in his garrison when Helmeppo didn't even have rank.) completely.
Does this qualify for World's Longest Run-On Sentence?
-
Kuro is the most despicable villain.
Seriously, not one person in One Piece attempted to do what he wanted to.
Kill ALL of his comrades, and an ENTIRE ISLAND.
Every other villain had friends, Kuro planned to kill EVERYONE.
Kuro wins. This topic is over.
-
I thought his plan was to live a peaceful life among the villagers?
-
He told the pirates to attack the island, and Kaya is to be a "victim" of their assault, so they wouldn't find it suspicous that he gained that vast amount of wealth. This would imply that he wanted to stay in that village (or just not be discovered/wanted again when he left). However, he still ordered the pirates to rough up the town and kill Kaya.
I doubt he just wanted the pirates to just walk into a town building and break stuff. Though Kaya was the only specific Kill order.
Either way, he's pretty dispicable.
-
I always felt Eneru was the worst simply because he thought that he had the right to decide the fate of everybody in skypiea, and I never liked the idea of someone enforcing his/her way of thinking for the entire world to follow.
-

Man you always confuse me into thinking "when did i post that?"
-
It's really confusing with identical avatars and no sigs :p
-
I'm surprised that Doflamingo isn't here, I mean he sells slaves and gets away with it. -.-

But he, like Crocodile, has his sheer Evil is Cool thing going on.
Besides, slaves are out and smilies are in.

eneru
planned to kill all the weak except 5 and not just a village a huge ass island more like a continent

The Tenryuubito are even more despicable than Dick Dastardly!
-
Personally I must go for Luffy, why ?
He is a pirate….
He has gone against Warlords of the Sea few times... they serve the good guys...
He has destroyed Enis Lobby
He messed up Impel Down
He freed Ace from the handcuffs
Punched Vice-Admirals
Attacked Admirals
Destroyed PX
Punched important peopleSeriously he has done a lot of bad things.

This sense of justice….. Karmine is Akainu in disguise :ninja:
Dear god… I been found out!
But what I speak is the truth... Luffy is one of the despicable villain in the manga.
Most likely Dragon is the one right now... Luffy ain't far behind.
Try to remember Marines = Good... they are like the police and protects people.
Sure, Luffy looks like the good guy from our view cause the story is written that way.
Now think it from Akainu view.... the pirate has high bounty, his father is most wanted, he almost messed up all the execution by freeing Ace, he has taken out many marines, destroyed one of the 3 main Marine bases...
Not knowing how Luffy thinks and acts... he sounds very evil...
But yea... I voted Akainu... he is such as bastard. Attacking Luffy just to kill Ace and then try to finish Luffy off killing anyone in the way. He's just in mad bloodlust.
-

I think everyone's sense of justice in this matter changes. If marines are supposed to be the good guys, I'd think of Garp or Saul's "justice" is more close to mine. And as for pirates (or Luffy in this case), I wouldn't judge them all on being what they are.
Knowing the reasons behind a character's actions changes a lot. Even the characters we thought were the worst people at the beginning can turn out to be heroes once we get to know them. Best example to this would be Franky I guess…
Anyway; as far as Akainu is concerned "a pirate must be eliminated". It just doesn't fit my justice. And Luffy's (who is capable of gathering all kinds of different people around him) actions doesn't reflect evil to me, that's all ^^; I even want to cheer for Luffy. ;;/ -
Tenyubito and Arlong. Fuck racism.
-
tehehe

Pirates have put up Flag of Death... showing that they are pirates....
Pirates in general are suppose to be evil. -
I voted for the Celestial Dragons. When Charlos got punched in the face I walked around smiling for three days.
-
Gotta say Akainu. Bastard's the first to kill anyone not in a flashback, not to mention the fact that he blew off 1/2 of Whitebeard's face
-
For me it doesn't get worse than Crocodile… he was the definition of villainy to the end. Working his way into a stable country and destroying it from the inside, while everyone thought he was a hero, and overnight he almost destroyed and claimed a nation. The best part of it all was how he'd smile when he mentioned the terrible things he did, or laughed at the failed attempts of the people trying to stop him. Crocodile will always be my favorite villain from One Piece
-
For me it's Sanji, that asshole took down Enel's ship and stopped him from destroying the world government and becoming God.
Then he went ahead and stole Mr 3's eternal log and stopped Crocodile from ever finding Pluton to take down the WG and become the new king.
Finally he reveals that all his years of mellorine were a lie as he goes to Kamabaka island and is photographed by a paparazzi with his secret life..The man is a criminal, the WG would have been taken down 3 times over if it wasn't for Sanji.
-
i don't really think that any villain besides the tenryuubito deserves the title of 'most despicable villain' .. well maybe spandam too. ^^'' for me they are the only real monsters in one piece.
it's hard to despise the others. arlong for example was a racist but seeing how fishmen are treated by humans i can't really blame him for not giving a f*** about the lives of humans. who knows, maybe he's been a slave too. regarding the cp9 and especially lucci .. well, they've been trained to become killing machines since they were little. it's more like brain washing to me so i blame the government for using little children. are akainu, blackbeard, crocodile etc. despicable? i don't really think so.
-
I think Eneru is the most evil. I mean he tried to kill probably thousands of innocent people and he laughed about it. The tenryuubito are also assholes due to how they treat slaves and that they think they are all that and a bag of chips.
-
Tenryuubito represent the most corrupt aspect of humanity, so clearly they're the most villainous. Arlong might have been racist, but he had good reason to be
lol @ people calling Akainu a villain.
-
lol @ people calling Akainu a villain.
He was closest thing to it during most of the war. Besides, blowing up a boat of civilians won't exactly make you out as heroic.
-
@Cyan:

Like his name implies, he's little more than a glorified attack dog, trained to kill pirates. That's not evil at all.
He's a hero to everyone in the manga except those who side with the pirates.
-
And except for people who study history or anyone who has the misfortune of living near them.
-
well the most despicable villian would be spandammmm…
-
Tenryubitoo. Nothing more disgusting than them.
-
Blackbeard.
I think he's cool and everything, but when he acquired the power of TWO devil fruits… man, that that simply sent to hell everything I knew about the devil fruits and the concept that one person=one Devil fruit, otherwise you'd explode, etc... I don't really liked it.
Even Lucci said that!
-
easy so easy
hancock, she keeps an island of women all to herself!!!!!!! separated from men and only she can have her own man
how could no one bring this up
if there was an island full of beautiful women in the real world wouldn't you men want access, if you think of it like this how can she not be the most hated evil despicable villain by far
HANCOCK = PURE EVIL
-
Blackbeard.

A person would explode if they eat 2 devil fruits. Blackbeard's case was totally different and it might be an exception.
-
Voted Arlong, before seeing Spandam was an option.
But seriously, how are these two not leading the polls?Eneru may have been stronger, etc than them both.
But seriously, Arlong and Spandam are two of the most 'Evil' ones. -

Certainly. I was thinking, maybe it had something to do with his DF. It's darkness is supposed to take in anything, right? Maybe that's how he got it. He didn't have to take in another fruit for that.
-
Voted Arlong, before seeing Spandam was an option.

-
My rank of evil in One Piece:
1- Tenryuubito
These are no-brainers. They're evil, spoiled and don't give a shit for other people. They'll enslave you, torture you and treat everyone like garbage, believe that since they're superior, purer and "better" than anyone, they have the right to mistreat everyone.2- Spandam
Like a mini-version of the Tenryuubito, Spandam don't care about anyone but himself. He will mistreat, torture and falsely accuse anyone in order to reach his objectives.3- God Enel
Because of his god-complex, this guy is willing to destroy whole sky islands, enslave the former god's militia and abuse the population. He will also mentally torture his opponents, always with a grim in his face.4- Arlong
The ultimate hypocrite, Arlong will enslave and abuse villages for his well-being. He kills a mother in front of her daughters and back on his deals in order to keep his servants bound to him. He will not tolerate any dissent, slaughtering whole villages if even a single villagers raise up against him.5- Admiral Akainu
Make no mistake: this guy is cruel and genocidal. The only reason he isn't higher in this list is because unlike all the others above, he doesn't do it just for his own benefit or his own pleasure. What makes Akainu scarily evil is that he will do anything for "Justice", including slaughter innocents. Unlike all others above on this list, he won't kill you if you are not a criminal… so long as there's no criminal near you that would make he consider you an acceptable loss.6- Sir Crocodile
We may forget how evil Crocodile really is because of his recent actions, but make no mistake: Crocodile's a complete monster. Besides enjoying mentally torturing young princesses and beating kings, he will deny warriors a fair fight and watch they die slowly; he will cause whole civil wars and use bombs that will kill millions just for his benefit. The guy is a utter bastard (but he's cool as hell).7- Shiryuu of the Rain
Former Chief Guard of Impel Down, Shiryuu used his position as an excuse to murder prisoners without reason. The guy became so bloodthirst and psychotic, even Warder Magellan considered him a menace and had to stop his insanity. His first act upon getting a temporary release? Murder fellow guards, betray Impel Down and join the Blackbeard crew. Shiryuu is a monster who doesn't even try to to justify his actions as "justice", and god knows what he will do now that he's free.8- Skybreeder Ohm
We often forget this minor villain, one of the Priests of Sky Piea in service of Enel. What we often forget is that Ohm's only goal in life was to kill people. He believed that he was "saving" people by cutting them to pieces. He didn't have any kind of compassion; anyone who ended up under his trial would be killed without mercy.9- Rob Lucci
Compared to all others on this list, Lucci may seem like a saint, but if we really look at him, we can call him "Akainu Jr". For "justice", he will kill or sacrifice anyone, including innocent guards. To him, weakness is a sin, so he kills subordinates like Nero just because they're not strong enough. Also, bellow his cold and logical expression, he's a bloodthirst assassin who wants nothing but to fight (and kill) strong opponents. We may not have seen he do much, but what we saw of him is enough to acknowledge how evil he truly is.10- Mr. 3 (Galdino)
We may see the pathetic Mr. 3 in Impel Down and think of him as goofy and harmless, but give a look at him again in Little Garden, and you'll see how cold and calculating this guy is. This is a man who prides on murdering people and turning them into wax statues that show the victim's expressions of terror and pain, and he does so while laughing and drinking tea. He was also willing to betray his conrades in Impel Down. However, unlike many others in this list, his time in Impel Down may have changed him a little bit, and his last acts (before he disappeared) were actually noble. Who knows how changed (or not) he may be when (or if) he returns?11- Wapol
Like a mini-Tenryuubito, Wapol is a spoiled and cruel king who thinks he may get away from anything. While he has not enslaved anyone, he was willing to refuse medical care for his subjects until they begged for it and beat up his subordinates.12- Don Krieg
Kill his own men by questioning his orders or begging him to show mercy towards other people? Check. Use white flags or marine flags to attack unsuspecting ships and towns? Check. Don Krieg was a really cruel man who was also a big liar. The only reason he's not higher on this list is because we didn't see him commiting his crimes.13- Captain Kuro
How could I forget him? The guy killed his own crewmates in order to achieve victory and was planning to kill all of them just so people would forget he existed. He also planned the raid of a village and murder of the innocent girl he himself took care for three years in order to get her fortune. Kuro was a heartless bastard without any sign of remorse or pity towards others. -
No Blackbeard, Deicide?
Rankings of evilness and utter bastardness:

Donquixote Doflamingo

Enel

Crocodile, but holy hell is he cool.

Arlong

Don Krieg. At least Arlong gave a shit about his men.
6- Crocodile
We may forget how evil Crocodile really is because of his recent actions, but make no mistake: Crocodile's a complete monster. @Cyan:
No Blackbeard, Deicide?
I don't know where to put Blackbeard, and most of his evil shit has been off-screen. Also, he so far has not enslaved, raped, mind raped or tortured anyone, nor has he done any kind of genocide or mass murder of innocents. There are pretty evil deeds he's done, like betraying Whitebeard, murdering a crewmate or making that death match in Level 6, but I don't think this beats any of the guys in my list, who had commited much worse crimes IMO.
- Donquixote Doflamingo
I think this guy will probably go up to #2 or #3 in my rank when we get to know him better…
- Crocodile, but holy hell is he cool.
Indeed he is.
- Don Krieg. At least Arlong gave a shit about his men.
Good call. I'll update my list with him as #10.
But goddammit is he cool.
Indeed he is. I'll update Croc's description in my list.
