Yeah, but Greg.
When Funi Dubbed "Believe" how would you have liked them to dub it. Use the LOLITA version or make their own version

??????????????
Okay, Ill stop using caps. And I admit hat I did get some really cool news that day (about Strong World and all). But please dont waste precious airtime in childish whining.

Umm…whose podcast is it again?
I started the One Piece Podcast in May with my friend who's rarely on here. Since then we have added members of Arlong Park including Firecrouch, Steve Yurko also known as Dragon Warrior/Sanjiscool of Dub Piece, Greg of www.thegrandline.com, Jason (EvilGamerX/J-Sack) one of the founders of this very site, The Dude an Administrator of Arlong Park Forums, dirtmonkey_AL, Demon Rin who's coming back soon , Funkatron a moderator from Toonzone's Anime Forum. We've also been joined by Tsukento of the 4Kids Worst 10, Doctor of the SSAA Podcast, Sketch and Ralbas of Faux Nami Productions, and a lot more I'm probably missing and I apologize if I did.

@The:
Actually one thing that he did mention off-air that I would like to mention was regarding […]This was done deliberately to make the script less monotonous over time. Especially if they use the same attack a bunch of times. Kind of like Eneru's "yahaha", which Tatum talked about in the podcast ep he was in.
Glad to have confirmation on that.

Taylor ham on a muffin.

On my end, I did mention this interview to my friend (just got off the phone with him, because now I'm confused). He said that they have the actual episodes for Water 7 and are going through them in the studio, but the last time he looked in the room (which was a month or so ago?) no one was recording. So it's possible they haven't "started" on it in the sense that they're currently dubbing it, but might just be writing the scripts and stuff for it. What it came down to, was he said "I know we have the episodes, but that's about all I know [keep in mind, he works on Sgt. Frog, so any OP info I get out of him is strictly a favor for me]. But I have been casted as an extra in Water 7, so maybe I can give you accurate info when they call me in for that."
So unless he's lying to me, I know from him that Funimation at least has those episodes. And from Mike McFarland saying they're "so far" from the DVD releases, it makes me think that they have at least started on Water 7. But, what do I know. Either way, it's not like wondering where they are in the dubbing process makes the DVDs come out any faster :P

IIRC, I actually had a certain TZ friend who did stuff for your podcast two or three times early on, and then he got all pissed off at you guys for some reason and demanded his recordings be removed.
Or something like that, I just remember it was a podcast involving TZ members.

Huh? What? TZ members on this One Piece podcast? I don't believe it.
Hey Zach, when do I get my custom made OPP sig banner with Sage Naruto on it and my position listed as "Token Naruto fan"? :getlost:

Do Funkatron and myself not count? I thought both of us were moderators!
Also, I'd be glad to make you a signature (goes for anyone else too), just hit me up on Skype (for everyone else just leave an email and I'll work on making those requests one at a time).

Well, I dunno, it could've also been that Toon Zone podcast that never gets updated anymore.
I should really ask him which it was the next time I catch him on Skype…

Aye, a shame that we don't do anything with that. Didn't Zach do a AS one, too? :p
Jacob goes to do other stuff he should be doing

Well Adult Swim kind of turned into suck, and my microphone at the time broke (mind you this is like three years ago).

More boobs please.

Also, just finished listening to the interview - fun stuff. Just a shame they threw you into a crowded room like that.

@Zach:
Thanks to those who listen, and for those who don't, I just ask that you don't dismiss us blindly and that you give us a fair listen before criticizing. If you listen and don't like it, let me know what you don't like and I. WILL. CHANGE. IT.
Okay, I have something to ask reguarding change. While this is more a manga issue, you have said you have a problem with the way Arlong Park lists the titles of the manga chapters and I agree, for the more spoilery titles (which from I know of Japanese culture, they consider not what happens to be the spoiler rather how it happens), it can be annoying. But when it comes to what the podcast considers to what release to be a spoiler, there's nothing to suggest on your website what the podcast consider to be release worthy and what isn't. A 'Be Warned' page would be helpful so at least if we get another spoilery chapter/episode title, there's a lower chance that someone may accidently send you information about the latest events. I mean, when the Anime News Network mention that One Piece is getting the highest amount of books printed alongside a cam rip pic of the cover page to chapter 574 (spoiling readers who know Japanese) and when other podcasts mention a death in OP, its rather confusing what groups consider a release of sorts or a spoiler.
That being said, that was another nice interview. I was only able to download the first 11 minute due to having a bad internet connection but it was interesting to learn that Mike was the original Bon Clay. I look forward to more interviews!

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here but I'll give it my best shot. I believe when most people go into a "Manga Recap" section they are aware that there are spoilers ahead, and during the "Piece Together" segment we warn people that there is a possibility of spoilers during those discussions. Outside of that I'm relatively strict about spoilers being thrown around the podcast. When it comes to the titles of actual episodes I attempt to make them references things in the manga or the discussion while making it subtle but not spoilery. A good example is the title "Face Off." What ANN did is ridiculous, and I don't think we linked directly to it on the site, though Firecrouch may have mentioned it on our news segment.

What I mean is when chapter 574 had its cam pictures released and the official discussion was made here on AP forums, the podcast warned fans that other members shouldn't visit the forums due to spoilers. This was a slight constrast since the majority of the One Piece community did consider that a worthy release. The manga is released in Japan on the Monday (well at least according to the official Japanese Shonen Jump website) so it did make some sense. What I meant was that page could be created to say what you consider an official release of the manga chapters and what not. It would just be helpful considering up to that point, there was nothing to suggest that the group didn't consider cam pics a source (and in fact, there's nothing to suggest the rest of you, excluding Greg, stopped reading spoilers before the manga discussion on the forum or website). A new fan may not know this and could accidently send you a spoiler, which is something you'd rather avoid.
The ANN thing was a pretty stupid move on their part. Didn't they think that some of their readers can't read Kanji? I know that news post would have spoiled people like Demon Rin and dirt_monkey_AL so they should have thought the post through. Ah well, they've probably learnt not to do that again.

We're a podcast so we don't tend to write things out that we say. If you listen to the podcast you'd know that (a) a large majority of the main staff does not read spoilers and (b) we do not consider RAW camera pictures a "worthy release." We can't do a recap for that and it isn't really a comic/manga until there are readable words on the page…A chapter release, I would think for the large majority of readers, though maybe not AP members, would include a translation printed on a scanlation. Greg has explicitly stated his own qualifications for reading a chapter release as well. I will continue to recommend to our listeners to not visit Arlong Park (especially the manga forum) in the days before a release of a scanlation. It's up to them whether to listen or not and at least it spreads awareness that they take a risk upon entering these forums on those days.
-

I know that news post would have spoiled people like Demon Rin and dirt_monkey_AL so they should have thought the post through.
That's actually exactly what happened to me for that chapter. Urouge told me that the title page was funny, forgetting about how I could read the title, and I … forgetting that I could read the title ... asked him to show it to me.
And about the raws, I've told the both of them (Brennen.exe and Urouge) countless times how a cam raw is really not a chapter release.
It's very rare when all of the bubbles are in a cam raw, and it's not too blurry to read.
They should really only make a chapter discussion when there's a LQ scan or higher. I'm sure there are a few scanlator groups that do wait for AP forums to post such things, and they can't do anything with a cam raw.

Okay guys, we're 6 posts away from 10,000, time to stop. There's a new thread, best to move in there before the eviction notice.
-
The logical thing to do is to ignore this thread from here on in.
And then whoever is around when the current one hits 10k can start a new one.
Darkstorm posted this in the "2nd" DVD discussion. Looks like we're not using that thread.
I thought Funi DVD Discussion 2 was a weird title, anyway. I'd go with Official Funi DVD Discussions V.2. -
I'd add about nine hundred posts to that number, if I were you…

Whoo, I just ordered S2: Sixth Voyage from Amazon for a mere $12.
Amazon got some glitch concerning a bunch of Marvel omnibuses ($8.25 for 900 page, $100 hardcover books?!) and cancelled my order due to a "lack of supply" and gave me $25 credit as compensation.
The only problem now is that I don't have S2: Fifth Voyage.
-
It's over 900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Got Season 2 Third Voyage for my b-day today! Still don't have S2V2 though but I can just get it with the money i'll hopefully be getting from relatives and such.

Dragonball Kai airs on Nicktoons… But no One Piece, eh?
Tch.
-
Maybe succession in views could lead to Nickelodeon getting the rights from Funimation & Toei. :)
-

…what? Where did you hear that?

The internet is a vast, vast place.
Not that being on TV has helped Naruto Shippûden any…

maybe if they had put it on "Disney" instead of digital cable channel "Disney XD" it would have been.
I'd watch it if I could, same with these two, but I don't have that channel. More people probably have CTN (which made Naruto popular) then have DXD.
One Piece would need to be on a channel a majority of people have access to (like Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, SyFY, CTN, etc.). If OP aired on DXD/Nicktoon TV, I wouldn't be able to watch that either.
-
So, did anyone notice that the credits since episode 92 have had some awkward character name renderings for the japanese cast credits, like "Rufi" and "Usop"?
-

But those channels have not been very agreeable apparently. Otherwise they probably would have worked something out by now.
I don't have Disney XD or Nicktoons channel either. I'm shocked that DBK got picked up by Nicktoons… But that just shows that CN is done and over with anime if they don't even want to pick up a Dragon Ball property.
It's been common knowledge for a while, I know... But CN is still the best place for One Piece to air. =/
-

That's been going on for a while. They listed "Alvida" as "Albida" in some episodes, and listed "Arlong" as "Aaron" once or twice. I remember being like, "Who the hell is Aaron!?" for the longest time. For a while I thought it was the kid that wanted to kill Arlong, but I was mistaken.
-
So I got, and have been watching, sixth voyage. Just gotta say I wanna buy John Swasey a beer for his knockout performance as the Great One. He nailed the "once again, you lose" moment so god damn well I almost had a conniption fit due to the sheer level of super-awesome. That was the moment that was the final deciding factor that made him The Great One, and Swasey hit it out of the park. Beautiful…
Extra props go to Caitlin Glass as Vivi, who sells her desperation and anguish perfectly. Emotion's a big part of playing Vivi, and she's been totally flawless in doing that.
-
The best part of that pod cast was that Mike hinted that the DVD versions of season 3 would be changed to fix any errors or "out of character" moments.
So goodbye 4Kids terms and Robin OCC! (Hopefully)
-
that was no hint, he said they were doing/did it.
-

He said it twice actually, once before we recorded and once during the recording.

Off topic, but anyone know where I can watch those? I've only seen 10-5, and now then when I wanted to watch the rest they were taken down..
-
I can't believe Nick will be airing Dragonball Kai…it seems that Nick has finally decided to air more anime related stuff, which makes me a bit happy actually. I would be far happier if One Piece airs there too.
-

A lot were taken down, and he never really finished it. That's why Tsukento came on the podcast some months ago to reveal the top five in addition to rehashing the others. It was a lot of fun, and it's uplifting to know that 4Kids will never be coming back.
-
Really? They're on the podcast? Where?
I've been wondering what happened to that.

I warn you, it's an old episode: http://www.onepiecepodcast.com/?p=273

That was the first episode I listened to actually. I wasn't really into OP at the time (but I had interest in it) and this podcast was one of the things that encouraged me to catch up to the manga and buy the DVDs. Now I listen every week.
-
@Zach:
I warn you, it's an old episode: http://www.onepiecepodcast.com/?p=273
Wow that was long… But worth a listening to anyway!
Sure puts things into perspective. And it also makes me think it's even more ridiculous that all of my friends who have seen One Piece have only seen the 4Kids dub, and they judge it from that. -_-
It also shows how essential it is that we support FUNimation's awesome One Piece dub by buying the DVD's! (sorry, that's the only remotely on-topic thing I could end this post with. lol)
