@wolfwood:
yup i stick by that mihawk did it cause he was bored since kreig wasnt a theat to nobody he was weak as hell compared to the grandline folks and as shown his 50.000 men fleet was taken out by a single goverment employe
Not quite sure a threat to no one, a non-threat to better Grand Line pirates maybe, but to the towns he passed and would've ravished he would've very much been a threat.
Let's assess the facts shall we:
he didn't just destroy one or two ships, he exerted energy to destroy all 50 ships, including one which he met via his own route in east blue.
how do we know he met it rather than chased it, well that's simple because Gin went ahead to find some food which means the ship was moving rather slowly which means that Mihawk had he been in real pursuit could've taken it out anytime.
also his knowledge of the east blue seems vastly limited in not knowing the most famous pirate hunter/swordsman of the sea yet he knew who Kreig was.
when asked why did he attack them, he says "to kill time" should that of been the case, where was he going, why did he need to kill time? as the dreaded man said "bullshit".
we also know that Mihawk's perception of stength isn't one we've yet seen proved wrong, he knew exactly how strong Kreig was just by looking at him, so why persue such a "pitiful weakling"? it's below him.
"i'm unlike those fools who use their all to kill rabits" yet he did with Kreig knowing full well that in comparison Kreig and his crew/fleet were indeed rabits, yet he felt the need to dispose of them completely using his all.
we know that by real pirates, the shishibuiki are known as dogs of the WG, why dogs because they're thrown bones and expected to retrive them, i.e. it's part of their duties to do missions for the WG, just like CP9. now telling them to hunt down pirates is their duty attending meetings…well isn't.
to support the statement about his lack of knowledge of East blue probably due to it being "the weakest of all the seas" and yet having knowledge of Kreig, when he thought with Zoro he was awakened to the fact that Zoro has "such unrestrained skill" being the swordsman that we all think Mihawk is, Zoro would've been on his radar alot sooner. and as we know when someones on Mihawk's radar his interest is more than fleeting thus attending the meeting in 151.
To support the fact that was he says isn't gospel, we only need to see the statement "what's your mission? why do you seek the ultimate power you weakling?" weakling? but he just admired his skill.
now we know in his personal business weilding the black sword in his opinion is a privilidge to the person he's facing, yet going against kreig's fleet he used it not once, not twice but atleast 50 times, unless we're gonna take the opinion that his skills are only available with the black sword and that would defeat the purpose of his character really.
we know that he relishes challenge in the fact that he said he'd await Zoro in his strongest form, which isn't going to be aided by taking on weaklings
And we know he's not headstrong and whimsical in that he never attacked Luffy when luffy tried to avenge Zoro and that he never ended things with Kreig when Kreig attacked him, instead he used his perception of strength and left the job for Luffy to do.
Last but not least, when Kreig said "Didn't you come for my head? East Blue's greatest, Don Kreig's head?" he said "that was my initial intention, but i've had more than enough fun" NOT "i was bored", NOT "you woke me" and NOT EVEN "i was just killing time" but rather an admission of his initial outset INTENTION, yes i know he said "i'm heading back to sleep" however in light of all the facts thus far established, he would've more than likely said "i was just alleviating frustration" or even "i was just trying to make myself tired again".
One more in that, we also know that in his departure from the Kreig situation he further damaged the ship and though he killed all members of the rest of the fleet, he merely reaked damage on the ship.
Will all that evidence even if you refuse to subscribe to him being sent by the government, it blows the boredom/killing time/annoyed that they woke him up argument out of the water, i mean let's be honest here, not only did he come all the way from the grandline, through a reverse mountain and into the weakest sea where his chances of finding a worth adversary or near none, he also left again without reaking his revenge, which is a typical sign of his pride kicking into gear and not being arsed enough to follow through with his orders, kinda just like a pirate.
If this isn't the most clear cut show of the shishibuiki's role in keeping the balance, then you have to ask what exactly do they do to keep the balance? we know without doubt their roles entail hunting pirates for the government, that's been said, so why not Kreig, even now it's still the biggest fleet in OP history and worth of WG intervention.
