Like I've been saying if Hancock does something now that won't be ignored by big names then this betrayal argument will be way more valid and some theories can actually progress and possibly come true.

For all we know Oda's been foreshadowing Hancock's death this whole time. Her constantly saving Luffy, out of the blue panels to see her reaction to something that happened to Luffy. She might just be so moved to help WB in some way and then get frozen by Aokiji.

This isn't a simple matter of betrayal. While it's true that she destroyed a number or pacifistas and fought with marines she also did her fair share against the pirates. Her attitude of "all men are the enemy" is not something someone like Sengoku wouldn't already be more than aware of. As he chose to have her participate despite that he's really in no position to complain about the results.

So long as the Marines remain unaware of the fact that Hancock was purposely working against them she can't be considered a traitor. I'm sure they will all agree that she's an annoying bitch, but her betrayal has yet to be uncovered.

That doesn't translate to her going out of the way to randomly pick a fight with Smoker, if her distaste for men were to be played up that high then she should be attacking any of the male Shichibukai standing near her, but she purposefully went after a marine presumably after crossing the battlefield. And Hancock even proclaimed to Smoker to keep his hands off her love so unless a fluke made him not hear her then this point is sorta null.

Yeah im going to retract what I said earlier after looking at that panel more. I thought that the pirates had already been picked up and there were speeding away, but its actually the ships heading to the shore to pick them all up. Also last we saw Hancock she was taking out Pacifistas from the rear near the shore, the exact location everyone is heading to. With the speed lines in her panel she is racing towards a certain destination and with what she said in the panel we can only assume she is heading towards Luffy. I still stand by the fact that she isn't going to get her title stripped yet because its would be better to have stripped in an emotional/immediate moment than an after math. But its certainly going to make the Marines go to some extreme lengths to try and find her if she ends up getting on the boat/helping the pirates get away to ask her "WTF". XD

possibly we can never discount that an Admiral will attack her directly and as powerful as she seems to be she probably will not win there.

I think however all talk of the imminent attack on Amazon Lily if she switches sides can be put on the back burner now, The marines have enough on their plate with Whitebeard and now Blackbeard as I have been arguing for a long time to worry about an insignificant island especially if Hancock does not return there.

I even talked about it before she made a move in this war in regards to marine incompetence. He wasn't going to have her go around saving him from nobodies and nobody worth mentioning else see it. So what would you have him do if doing it the way you say is silly isn't good enough?

A buster call can happen but at this point I don't see it in the future. After the BC in EL it holds no threat to the readers and doesn't seem like Oda's progressing with the plot but just recycling shit he already did epically. I don't see the marines doing it after this war especially just so they could fail (which they would).

The "just give the title to someone else" is weak and just not a good reason. "Oh hey guys I don't want to be empress anymore, I'm going to be with Luffy. Sandersonia is leader now. K thanx bai" There'd have to be a good reason for her to leave and I don't see Luffy asking her to leave her country. He's smart(smart enough), especially after what happened with Vivi and Alabasta. If AL survives a BC they'd need Hancock more than ever and Luffy would know that(just like Alabasta needed Vivi).

But in that scenario Marge could definitely join.

Empress Gloriosa (Nyon) left and was replaced, Hancock could do the same thing. The strongest warrior on the island is the Empress that is their tradition. I theorize that that is the true purpose of the arena since they couldn't have executions that often.

Nothing that she did when attacking the marines or pacifista was ever out of character for her. The whole battle was chaos at that point and there is no reason for anyone to assume she does or doesn't have a reason for attacking one particular man or another. This is clear since she attacks pirates and marines at the same time.

My main point is that even if Luffy hadn't shown up I don't think her actions would have been much different. While she may not have gone out of her way to stop Smoker she clearly would still have been fighting essentially whoever was around her without discretion, marines included. Since Sengoku sent for her despite knowing she had that kind of character he has to excuse the small stuff. As he doesn't know she was purposely aiding Luffy, there is no reason to consider her a traitor.

The current chapter changes nothing in Hancock's (or Jimbei's) chances of joining. Luffy's, Jimbei's and Hancock's positions have not changed since last chapter. So far the chapters are about Ace, Whitebeard, Blackbeard and the war. When things calm down, the position of Jimbei or Hancock will become clearer.

What I was talking about had nothing to do with chain of command on how things work from one ruler to the next.

Besides Vivi is a princess and Hancock is the Empress

What I'm talking about relies on the ppl of the country. Alabasta just finished with a Civil War and Croc was stopped from wiping out their capital. They needed Vivi after that. She was the face of the country so to speak. Sort of what the Queen is seen as in England or princess Diana. If AL gets BC'd and survives the ppl will need Hancock after that. It's not even so much about who's the ruler but keeping up morale and having a figurehead to look up to in a time of rebuilding.

Lets not act like anyone but Hancock could pull that off at the moment. Beauty is strength in AL and they'll need the strength to get past getting BC'd.

I don't hate the guy and I'm more disappointed(and disgusted) than anything else with how Oda has handled Sengoku. It's like he just wants him to be the top figure without getting his hands dirty or risk having him be defeated.

My criticism for him probably has to do more with other manga I read, especially the one I'm reading now. Sengoku comes off as no great strategist worthy of praise in this war. Only thing I can tip my hat to is the scheme to fool Squardo in to wounding WB which isn't stopping WB from fucking up the whole island. Akainu is the MVP in this war and it was more cuz of him than Sengoku.

1. You make my point for me. Buggy of all people is responsible for leaking all this information to the world…. Sengoku's ability to control flow of information < Buggy !!!

2. And everyone would have drowned "if" WB hadn't kept a ship in reserve, planning for alternative scenario's is key to strategy. Sengoku had no way to stop the pirates once they made it into the plaza, his plan was cookie-cutter simple and predicated on almost everything going his way.

3. This is your assumption. While it's clear that she disables/destroys quite a few we also see at least one destroyed by New World pirates. Most if not all is going too far.

The ridiculousness is that Oda would have her have to explain herself and get out of it by striking a pose, secondly her striking a pose doesn't turn people into mind slaves, it's just the precursor to a merrow beam by causing the victim to briefly have dirty thoughts but as seen through Momonga he was still giving her a glare while enduring the pain of stabbing himself, so unless you're suggesting that she'd petrify Sengoku, Smoker or Sentomaru then it'd hardly solve her problem.

She no bullshit told Smoker why she attacked him and only him directly in that scene, so that alone makes that argument null and void but furthermore in the instance that she really did attack marines without Luffy as a reason she had atleast the benefit of the doubt because she was being attacked by multiple pirates and was using attacks that had large area of effects so a little collateral damage would be reasonable, but that is hardly comparable to her seemingly leaving her position and punting Smoker and only Smoker in the back. To fit what you two are saying it'd be different if Hancock tried to play off her saving Luffy by her pirouetting haphazardly (doing perfume femur) and just happening to kick Smoker along with some pirates.

It didn't seem to me like Smoker ever really took note of what she was saying anyway. He's more interested in Luffy than any of the other marines, if he'd caught on to exactly what she was saying and why she was attacking him I don't think there would be no reaction to it. Like when Dragon stopped him he would want to know why she was helping Luffy.

The only real issue is with Amazon Lily getting taken out and the route Oda wants to take is his, and his alone. However the issue with leadership can be easily solved. She handed leadership over to her sisters while she was away. If she 'abandons' AL the sisters will just take up that mantle or someone else more determined to rule/help the people of Amazon Lily will take up the place instead.

An issue with a dream can be rectified right before joining or in the climax of another arc. Most the people who claim Hancock is going to join (including me) don't think she is going to immediately join until she becomes the centerpiece or at least one of the centerpieces in another arc where she will cement herself. None of the strawhats simply joined, they all had to have something that made it clear they were with the crew through the end of it. Both Hancock and Jimbei do not have such a trait but there is evidence that one can easily be made in the up coming fishman island arc. Both their pasts have turning points with that place and its people.
