i want to see how kidd and law will react to luffy being infamous after this war is over. sure luffy was known before this but he will be on a whole other level after the war is over. before kidd and law were kinda on the same level but they will be playing catch up after this. if one of them were to challenge luffy and fight id say it would be kidd. i don't think he will like not being the rookie with the highest bounty and being completely overshadowed by luffy.

Poor WB is getting shot through by Kizaru's laser. How much longer can he hold on? I guess the logical climax for him would be to create a massive earthquake after the pirates get ready to escape so no one can follow them. After escaping with them he dies from his wounds leaving things to the next generation...
People keep mentioning it's time for BB to appear however I don't see any reason for him to do so. It's best for him if the marines and WB's pirates weaken each other as much as possible. He has no business fighting them now.

I really have to say this chapter hasn´t impressed me that much…
I know Oda wanted to get it over with, but I really hoped Garp´s sentimentalism won´t play a role in the outcome of the "fight"... (and I really doubt Luffy knocked him out...)Nonetheless, 3´s infiltration was a surprise... Sengoku was a disappointment I´d rather say, but meh... I guess if we´re realistic there would have been no other way for Luffy to get to Ace.

for those people who's still think Ace is going to die don't worry the arc/war isn't over yet.
I think its only OPlogical for Ace to be alive I mean after all those sacrifice/s that Lufy - WB - NW Pirates - and those all people involve. I wouldn't want Luffy to have a huge power-up because of the death of Ace.
I think its still safe to say no Bigshot/Major Character is going to die in current time line/present as of now.

Not getting the talk about Sengoku having a buddha buddha fruit. Does Nico Robin make flowers with her ability? No. Does Blackbeard make darkness with his ability? No. Does Berrygood turn into berries with his ability? No. Sengoku probably ate the human human fruit model: giant. This probably explains his above average intelligence too.

No. A giant could be classified as a different 'breed' of human, much like the dachhound and jackal (which are two dog fruits we have seen so far). A buddha buddha fruit doesn't really make sense in the frst place anyway. Seriously, please explain to me what the abilities of a buddha would be.:blink:

Really nice chapter, yeah. Seeing Sengoku in action is beyond cool.
As for the speculation on his DF, I love it when Oda gets really weird. The weirder the better, I hope the fruit is something nobody predicts and chances are it will be. Truth is, him being giant could just be a small byproduct of his powers. Like, for instance, if you met Moria in his Shadows Asgard form or if we saw him first in this form we might have guessed he was a giant. Or if we saw Eneru in his giant fat blue guy form in the first panel we saw him in we may have guessed he was a giant too. Get what I'm sayin, bros? :)

I think WB will stay back and the last panel we will see him going on a rampage and than the screen will fading away… Than we will see Ace and go some days later or hours to tell us that WB falls and died as a hero who opposed the whole marines to save the new generation...
So Oda will have his flashback death for WB. Marco and Jozu tell Ace to be the new captain as WB wished that he be the pirate king as his father, who he respected and that he should stop to think bad of him.
Ace will realize that and will live to his full potential

Someone posted a whole list of the Buddha's abilities several pages back. And that's obviously what it is… given his title as "Hotoke" no Sengoku. Just being a giant wouldn't explain his metallic afro. -

Yes, I was kinda confused about this. I think what actually happens is Kizaru is ABOUT to attack, but his attention is diverted to what we saw in the panels…
...The other guess is, Kizaru actually killed Whitebeard and we don't know it yet. Maybe he just falls over dead next chapter or something.

My short prediction for the next chapter: Garp is dead (Luffy knocked him to the ground, cause his neck to broken), Ace get frozen by Aokiji, Luffy being shot to dead by kizaru, Sengoku and Akainu bomb WB and the rest of the pirates to dead, the Marine win completely, leaving no pirate alive, One Piece ends here ! LOL !!!

I'm kind of disappointed that WB and Shanks have it too. I was hoping there would be 1 or 2 people in the manga that have it, making Luffy seem extra special and even more destined to be Pirate King. As it is, there's now 4 users of it.

Eh I think BB is just a really bad matchup for Ace(and most people). The ladder system doesn't really work anyway. For instance, Perona>Luffy and Usopp>Perona so Usopp>Luffy? Nope, they already fought and Usopp lost. There's no way to see who would beat who. I think we should just leave it at ''Ace is probably really strong, but we haven't seen him take out anybody huge yet''.

No, I knew from the beginning that Ace is going to survive this otherwise these whole arcs wouldn't have made sense. It's just that I hoped he would die even though the chance was like 0%. I actually find Impel Down+ unnecessary. What purpose does it have except to show Luffy that he is way behind the top tiers. Though I am quite interested in the aftermaths of this whole war, and I am sure Oda won't disappoint us. It's just that I can't come up with a logical explanation right now.
Now that Ace is also not dead, the direction of the story is hard to predict. -

There's still a chance for WB to die, but unfortunately I doubt it considering Oda's nature. At best, we can hope for him to go into a coma for the rest of One Piece. At worst, he gets a few weeks of recovery and is right as rain. I mean, the guy has been impaled multiple times (not only by Squardo, but by numerous Marines), shot by several guns and bazookas, stabbed, more than likely set on fire (by Akainu), pierced by Kizaru… and on top of that, he forcefully removed his medical equipment so that his fellow soldiers (pirates) wouldn't pity him. Hopefully, Oda is forced to acknowledge this and at least attempts to give him some sort of consequence for his action. I mean, honestly, this may be a light-hearted story, but it's a pirate Manga...

I expected him to explode with rage the moment the cuffs came off, instead off using the typical pose. Sengoku was boring as well, which seemed something impossible to do considering his power and position. Plus I'm getting a little fed up of Whitebeards long and degrading downfall.

See above. I think this chapter was just teasing at Sengoku's capabilities. The powers of (a) Buddha (is there more than one?) were listed a couple of pages back. If Sengoku has even only a couple of those we'll be some major asskicking from his side. Growing large might not be his (only) primary power.

We've always suspected that WB would croak in this Arc and it's a lot more probable for him to be injured and weakened before the final coup de grace. If he were to be taken out by a single hit from e.g. Sengoku it would make his death seem cheap. By showing how much damage he's capable of taking before finally going down we are shown just how tough he is.

My guess for Sengokus DF would be an ancient zoan type. Look at the pics, he's clearly some sorta animal. Most likely ape of some kind, since he has tail and all. My first guess was gorilla, but gorillas dont have such a long tail.
..And dont u guys think that Garp took the shot from his son in order to save Ace. Luffy never "beated" him

This has left off at a point where Oda could have pages of dialogue rather than Aces Flame Emperor destroying the entire marine HQ.

I disagree, I think it's perfect.
It's a little typical shonen mixed in with Ace's personality. Ace has been stating throughout this arc (or really, this series in general) that Luffy is his "reckless little brother" that doesn't listen to him. For Ace's first words as a free man again to be "You're a reckless idiot, little brother…" is perfect.
Besides, there's plenty of time for Ace to explode over everything else going on, including Shirohige's rapidly declining health. The first priority when he got free was getting Luffy (and by extension, Galdino) to safety. Once they're back on the ground and among the other commanders, All Ace has to do is free Joz and Marco. Once the big 3 are free, Shirohige (or anyone else) has no reason to hold back. They can destroy the island and advance in a different direction (read: get the hell out of dodge). Although, I'd like to believe that Sengoku has one final "middle-finger" up his sleeve before they're able to get outta there. It would be a little too anti-climatic if they just got away with little problem.
Another possibility is that Kaidou somehow forced Shanks and his crew to make a tactical retreat, and shows up with his allies in an attempt to detain Shirohige and his allies... but that'd be a little too much for this arc. Let's save Kaidou (and Shanks, for that matter) for a later time.

I think you are right. Oda has used far too many characters in this arc. No more are needed. Now it's Ace turn to shine, i.e. organize and secure the retreat. It will definitely get some more dramatic. Oda has hinted that the era of WB has ended. Heck, WB stated himself, that he is ready to sacrifice his life for saving Ace.

I wasn't part of the 'Ace must die bandwagon'[/hide]Again, I wanted him to be freed, the final moment is very anticlimactic considering the build up.Sorry cuz your post with that stupid pic which was posted over 1000 times already have let me believe something else.
And I found the ending perfect. Next chapter you will see Ace doing something (not whining) But what did you expect. Should he explode in rage before rescuing his brother and Mr 3?
