Meh. I think the thing that distinguishes between CP9 and the other people that Luffy's fought against is that, besides the main bad guy (Lucchi), it isn't that much of a difference of power between the CP9-ers, as opposed to the Priests and the BW Agents. That's why we're having so much trouble with identifying who the crew will be matched up against.
That being said, I can definately see the strongest four fighters in Luffy's crew going up against W7 CP9 as opposed to some members of the EL CP9.

I read through every reply to see if anyone else caught this, but I don't suppose anyone did. Check out the introduction page on page 15 in chapter 375. Look at the Kabuki guy's back while he is bowing. Now look at the staff Usopp is wielding in the color page. They look a lot alike.

I doubt that this staff is the same because of two reasons;
1. The rings of Kumadori´s staff seem to be a little loose while the Ring on Usopp´s staff (or should I say slingshot
) appears to be solidly attached to the staff.2. The staff from chapter 375 seems to be Kumadori´s weapon. I don´t see why it become Usopps out of a sudden.

It's just Usopp's new weapon. Probably called "ultimate slingshot" or something along that lines cooler sounding, but meaning the same. It'll have dials and all those stuff. Why do people think Usopp and Kumadori would have the same weapon?

Personally, I think it's an extremely long katana on Kumadori's back. like an odachi blade or something. You can sort of see the grip & the handle from the back view in ch. 375.
As for that stuff on the tip, probably like a traditional decorative thing. I know I've seen that type of thing before, but usually you tend to see it attached to the bottom of the handle. But I dunno, we haven't really got a good enough look at it, to say for sure what it is.

We know. It's entirely possible Oda somewhat based the design on that, however, Oda's basic method of designing Giants consists of giving them a ''Viking''ish look, so it could very likely also be mere coincidence.

Well in light of the amount of dialogue and action devoted to teamwork (Foxy Pirates arc, CP9, the times the Straw Hats have talked about it), I think it's about time there was a large-scale battle where it came down to how well the Straw Hats could work together. I would really like to see this. Of course Luffy and Lucchi will have to go duke it out one-on-one, but the rest of them should, as Chopper would say, RUMBLE!

Aside from that, there's still a possibility that the chapter will come out this week instead of next week. Even though the official release date is next week, people usually work their ass off before enjoying their vacation. As long as I remember, last year end/beginning and last summer was like that. I remember omae was saying it's been like that before that, too, so we've been having this pattern for quite a while now. (So who's the n00b now? :P Jk.)
... As a side note, considering most people will take a week off on the week of August 15, even though the next official release date will be August 22, I'd assume Jump will be ready by sometime now. Nobody would want to work next week. Geez I need a vacation!

To be absolutely truthful, I've never understood just what it meant by double issue. Is it nothing more than a combining of numbers (like instead of one issue being 36 and the next 37 they're both 36 and 37)? It's never seemed to influence the amount of manga (or, rather, not influence the amount in a specific series, maybe more series are included that might run bi-weekly, but I digress).

seen from the point of view of a lazyass mofo, i think it's to keep track of the weeks.
this way they can have a couple of weeks without releasing an issue, but at the end of the year they still have a total of 52 issues. this way it's easier to say, oh the double issues are #16/17, #37/38, and #50/51 (numbers are arbitrary) instead of saying, oh, there are 49 issues in a year, because we dont release one between 16 and 17, 37 and 38, 50 and 51.
don't take my words for it. i'm just using my logical illogic.

I honestly want to see Sanji vs Kaku and Zoro vs Blueno.
Kaku seems to be a kicker, so… I want to see Sanji destroy him.
Blueno seems to be the strongest (physically) so Zoro should "test" his strength on him.

For the matchups, I think Robin and Franky will fight Blueno and Calipha. Blueno and Calipha would bring Robin/Franky two the whatever place they were going. Blueno will use his ability to enter the big gate. Lucci and the others might be left there to face the StrawHats.

Since the Franky Family, Paulie, Lulu and Tileston are already involved in the invading of Enies Lobby. Here's what I think could happen:Remember that Puffing Tom is already destroyed.
FF and the other three will be on trial. Maybe Iceberg will tell the government that they will rebuild again the Puffing Tom if they spare their lives and they'll work it again for ten years(less or more). That was well thought out! I commend you. Although I think there's been this theory that since CP9 aren't supposed to exist, and now so many people know they do (and of the license to kill they have), the government would just grudgingly let FF and Iceburg's Co. off for that in exchange they keep their mouths shut. The pirates, mugiwara, and franky (because he defeated a CP9 member) would get major bounties. And continue on the adventure~.

Nah, he knows his limits. Annihilating Lucci and Kaku's chance of joining the crew by revealing them as CP9 is… shocking enough. But still "right" in a way; it's not a lie, just a way of making us think that they are candidates.
Still, because there's no written rule, our assumptions could be invalid.
Btw, anyone else think that SogeKing's new weapon is uber cool?! I bet it has somethingt do with dials.

Vivi wasn´t on the color spread because she fought with the Strawhats against Baroque Works but because she was traveling with the Strawhats in between four islands. Peruh did also fight alongside the Strawhats against BW but was he on any color spread, nope.
So if in the next color spread Franky should be dining on a hippo with the Mugiwara Pirates, then it should be clear that he will probably will be traveling together with them since the hippo picknick wouldn´t have anything to do with the fighting against CP9.
