I just spoke to a Japanese guy on Pixiv with my terribly basic Japanese and he actually responded. He did a Luffy x Luffyko picture (with a bit of flashing going on) and I said I'd like to see more of the pairing. Rule 63, bringing nations together…
Teclo もっとルフィ×ルフィ子を見たい
I'd like to see more Luffy x Luffyko.
さ わたしも見たい…!ルフィ子かわいすぎるしぬ
Me too! Luffyko is so cute I could die.Even though he kept it simple for me, by not using any kanji I hadn't already used, I'm still kinda guessing at his second sentence. It's literally "Too cute" and then "die".
Anyway, it's the latest work by this artist.
-
^LOL it amuses me how many people on 2ch love Luffyko. XD Some of them even said something similar to that guy.
Gah, gotta get off my ass and draw some Luffyko again… XD

A new Sanko picture. It also includes female Zeff, female Patty (still with beard), a mean female Zoro and a female Gin.
I translated it here: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/579514

God damn it, I'm addicted to finding this stuff.Anyway, this has all sorts going on but the most notable thing is the female Sogeking. It's more of a Sailor Moon outfit here.
Lol…I like that Ussop! Ussopoko??? Sogequeen???
On another note (a rather off-topic one), I was wondering, since some of you seem to have Pixiv accounts, if I could request someone post an enlarged pic from there? (It's not genderbend)
I did post my request in the picture request thread in the General One Piece subforum, but the thread doesn't seem to be very active. (If no one minds, I'll indicate which pic).

Edit Actually, if you give me the email address you want to use, and the username you'd like, I could just sign you up. Then you can change the password to what you want.

Actually, no thanks, I can't read Japanese. It would pretty annoying trying to find my way through the site.
The picture I'm looking for is a pic of Sadi-chan where she is on her knees with her tongue sticking out and her hand near her mouth signing something that looks like the OK sign. (The pic has a dark background).
Also, if it's not too much trouble could you give me the name of the artist (translated if you can, if not that's OK)? I'd like to give credit to them in my sig.
Thanx in advance!!!

The artist is just called by the nickname Kiboku. Their website is here.

@Ghostville:
Lol…I like that Ussop! Ussopoko??? Sogequeen??
Actually it's "Sailor Soge-chan". That's what the artist wrote.
And why is everyone just going "Character Name + Ko = Girl Version Name"?!
It's like nobody has any originality… I mean, imagine if everyone on the crew really WAS Genderswapped... would you really think it "neat" if EVERY SINGLE female member had "Ko" at the end?
"Sanko!! Food! Make me a Salad!!" "Hold your Horses Luffyko, all I wana make is sweets... how are we doing on fish Ussopoko? Not good, Chopperko and Zoroko aren't very good at fishing! Frankyko, you help us over here while Brookko plays the violin!" That's just very... bad... it's like everyone thinks "Ko" instantly means "Girl" and thus you MUST add it...
When the Official Oda genderswap happened, a friend and I came up with names for everyone (except Luffyko, since that name was established LONG ago)
The way we did it was: Luffyko, Zora, Namizou, Usoppia, Sanjiya or Sanya, Chopper's an animal, so that name can stay, Francine (for Franky) and Brooke (just make sure you type the "e" at the end)
Robin was the only hard one since "Robin" is already either Gender. We were thinking just shorten it to "Rob" or "Robby" to diferentiate XD We didn't wana take a name that wasn't originally Japanese and throw Japanese into it, but if we were to do that, it'd be something like "Robisuke" or "Robimaru"

I just copied everyone else, as I don't know much about the Japanese naming system. Besides, Ussop is kind of a hard name to make sound feminine.

Alina and I got bored and decided to do a fem-Garp and fem-Sengoku. There isn't enough of them!

Fem-Garp reminds me of my third grade schoolteacher.
And geez, you're going to have a lot of confused young men questioning their sexuality with that avatar. Powerful stuff.

Ahaha, Garp loves cookies no matter the gender. :D I love how you turned Sengoku's braided beard thing into a braid like that one captain from Bleach wears.

It's not MSN, it's iScribble.net
And as I said - I know how to make MSN work and how to make drawing tool work in there, just hop onto AIM, I'll show you :3 -
As for the names, I said a couple of pages back what many of the names that the Japanese artists tend to use are. Putting "ko" at the end is just a tradition for any genderswap, it's not really people trying to be original. It's just shorthand for saying "the female version of…"
That said, many of the One Piece character's names aren't real names so don't necessarily have a gender to begin with. Luffy already sounds feminine to me and actually, at least on Pixiv, his female version is still referred to as just Luffy. Sanji can mean a couple of things but the most common use would be "3 o'clock" so if you go for "Sanko" you have something that could be roughly translated as "Little Three" which has a cute ring to it.
It's different in English, anyway. Putting "zou" at the end of a name is meaningless in our language but obviously it makes it masculine in Japanese, a la Namizou. We have some things that the Japanese wouldn't really be aware of though, like how female Brook and female Franky can be conveniently changed to Brooke and Franny.
Not sure what to do with Usopp as it's a neat little pun. "Uso" is Japanese for "lie" and it's blended with Aesop, the name of the famous storyteller. If there's a female form of Aesop, that still sounds good with "Uso" at the start, that's probably what you'd do if you wanted to take the renaming really seriously. With Zoro, changing it to Zora would put it in a feminine form in English naming tradition, as far as I know. This also works out nicely because "Zorro" is Spanish for "fox" whereas "Zorra" is Spanish for "female fox". However, it's also used to call someone a bitch in Spanish...
Now Luffy's apple clothing actually suits him/her (well, comparatively speaking).

Aaaaace. Questionable activities with a little wee!Marco but still worksafe:
!
-
A genderswapped Ace forcefully stripping a shota'd Marco. Oh internet, whatever next!
-
I usually have great love for shota!Marco but I don't know if I want to see someone molest him. ;; BUT I'LL PRETEND THAT ACE-CHAN IS DOING THIS OUT OF MEDICAL NEED LMAO.
-
Wow, when you said "Medical" it for some reason brought to mind how he resurrects due to his Phoenix Logia… Then I had the idea that whenever he resurrects, he comes back as a shota - at least for a while, like how Luffy shrinks after Gear Third.
-
Usopp could be Usoppina. Why does Zora use only 2 swords?
-
Sheet of Zora, master of Nitoryuu.
I love the little attentions to detail, like how the bandanna is wore more like a headscarf and it being Nitouryuu. Also, she's not drinking beer but rather kashisu oolon or "Cassis Oolong". Cassis is apparently French for blackcurrant and, if I understand it, also a blackcurrant liqueur from France that's the #1 cocktail in Japan. I had to Google it…
@Kairouseki:
Usopp could be Usoppina. Why does Zora use only 2 swords?
In Oda's genderswap SBS she's saying "Santouryuu? No way! I could chip a tooth!" or something to that effect.

Edit
A new mini-comic. A translation would be much appreciated though I may try one myself if I get in the mood to look up a lot of kanji.I'm not going to edit the pic, since I'm lazy, but . . .
1st comic:
Namizou (1st bubble): There's no way I can fight that thing!
(2nd bubble): I'll leave it to you! Good luck!Zoroko: Whaaaat? But I'm still recovering my strength!
Gotta say, I love the author's use of Zoroko's "eeeeee…!" He's the one crew member that I can never imagine using the typical anime "eee?!" Not even a small "e?!" He's just that manly. Really, a lot of the dialogue on this genderbender pieces are lines that the characters would normally say, only the way that the opposite gender would say it. The effect doesn't translate well into English.
2nd comic (read right to left):
Luffyko: Nami, can I have this?
Namizou: Ah, yeah, you can have that one. It doesn't have any jewels on it.
Luffyko: Yay!!! How does it look?! How does it look?!
Namizou: It really suits you.
Btw, you mixed up the katakana in one of your translations up there.

Sanji is saying kuso-marimo, not kun-marimo. If he were saying Mr. Marimo, it'd be marimo-kun. Titles always come after in Japanese. You can compare the "so" in "kuso" to the artist's "n" in Zoro's "honmono." Sometimes, it's easy to mix those two up, so if you have kana to compare, it'll make it easier to interpret. The second stroke in "so" starts in the top right, and the second one in "n" starts in the bottom left.
Oh, and way, way back, someone asked what Brooke was asking Namizou in this pic:
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6936/1260011885094.jpg
Don't know if you still want to know, but he's asking, "May I see your penis?"
Only, he's using girly language.
-
lol, WOW. Male Brook was never THAT straight-forward. 'Course I guess he can get away with it when he's a girl. We can get away with anything.
-
A girl in school got away with my backpack once, but only because she could run faster.
-
Yaoi artists should take notes from man!Sadi. Dammit, if you're going to draw crossdressing, don't draw guys that look like flat girls. Manly men are hot. Especially man!Sadi, unf.

that is the first anime inspired drawing that i actually thought was sexy. wow it is so detailed

…I'm having the urge to see some genderbent Absalom trying to marry Namizou. Does that exist yet?

Wouldn't that be like Lola trying to force herself onto Absalom??

Yeah, except Absalom can actually overpower Nami easily and has the whole invisibility thing. (..Well ignoring the fact that he was daydreaming when Nami beat him.)

I love his expression .

The best genderbend? Apart from the lack of boobs, she looks essentially female.

whoa, I didn't even notice that. Now I do. Well, no boobs AND a male's neck(barely noticeable). two things.
-
The chin is what keeps it looking really female to me. At that age she still shouldn't have a boyish face, it'd been better to draw him with a bigger chin.

Ah yeah, I did mis-read the "so" as an "n" but the "Mr. Marimo" thing was intentional, as I said at the time:
Actually, Sanko is saying "Sekuharakun, Marimo" which is literally "Mr Sexual Harassment, Marimo" or "Sexual Harassment-kun, Marimo" if you prefer. It just sounded kind of awkward in English so I came out with this instead, playing up on the (probably) already existent Kalifa reference in the process.
Anyway, thanks for the translations you did. :)
