Man I didnt know other Places in the world had One Piece like in Europe, from what I could tell they have problems with editing and translation too but its not as bad as it here in the US. Oh ya the German opening and the Spanish opening was cool.

Usopp = Crook Bu (On some occasions, Lier Boo).
Cheat Cloth.
-
What I like about the German opening is that typical Pirate sound at the beginning of the episode, when the scroll opens up. And I also like Gold Rogers voice, which sounds badass, unlike the America version, who sounded very caring and sweet.
-
lol i have that version of OP where Luffy is called Roof, Usopp is called Crook Boo, Zoro-Sarun, lol Sunkist :P theres an endless list
-
I saw a Spanish clip of the march to Arlong Park. Nami and Arlong's voices were alright, but Luffy's voice was too deep. I could understand what they were saying, since I've studied Spanish for four years.

FOR REAL!? Where did you see this clip? I would like to see it.

xD Speaking of name changes:
LMAO
-
I watch the Taiwanese dub of OP, and it's very well done. Over here, we are currently in Skypiea arc, coming towards the end of it. Everything is left uncut and is therefore, perfect. The opening songs are still in their original Japanese form, just with Taiwanese subtitles below. The voice acting is perfect too, as every voice fits the characters well. In case you don't know, Chinese and Taiwanese writings are a bit different, but majority are the same. To be honest, there are actually some Chinese writings I cannot read.
-
I just watched a clip from the German dub. I was amazed at how good the voices are, especially Sanji and Usopp. Chopper was too deep, but I could live with something like that. And the original music score is a plus too. Man, why does America have to get such a crap dub. :P
-
I never really watched the dubbed one. Just the Thai CD. I don't like One Piece series that on-air in Thailand so I just don't watch it at all. They censor and Sanji turned out to have something like the white misty circle on his face. I knew about the 4Fox one and I can tell that I hate it so much even I never really watch it. :P Sanji with a lollipop is real childish. :(
-
It should be noted that in Taiwan, the series isn't called One Piece. In Taiwan, the series is called Pirate King
Though they still have the word One Piece on the manga cover. -
In some country's dub, (I forgot what one) they call Jango (heh heh) Jacko! XD

Wanna see a clip of the german One Piece dub?
http://www.rtl2.de/pokito/34_345.php
Other then that there are a lot more clips of other anime shows that aired on RTL2, just click on the icons above, then scroll down and click on video.
….. I hope that nobody posted this before........
-
Nope, I think all we've seen so far (well, me anyways :P) is spanish and english. Well, I just watched it, it was the Usopp 8-shaku one on the page you showed, and with the same musical score and nearly similar voices for Nami, Usopp (Usopp sounds similar to what we have now) and Sanji I guess? the german dub is doing very well.
" … Rough-ie!"
... learn English and dub for us German Sanji :0
Thanks for showing~ I was curious as to how the other dubs sounded.
-
Man… the German Dub is way better than our ours, but their chopper sounds kina too old but again the Sanji is perfect.

Yeah, I know Chopper sounds weird, at least compared to the cute original voice… But then again one shouldnt be surprised becouse the german Chopper is synched by a guy, with a rather soft voice. However, that voice suits him in his "bigger" forms.
-
Chopper sounded cool, Usopp and Luffy sounded evil. Eh. how weird.
-

Eneru/Enelu = Enel -
Hey, that's not too bad. Almost all of them are pretty much kept the same. The ones with different spellings still sound the same, so that's good. Is the German dub the best dub next to Spanish? :o
It'd be like, for dubs:
1. German
2. SpanishI'm not even going to put the English one up there. 'Cause I'm evil.
-
Yeah, the dub is pretty decent, although it still has some flaws. However, imho the major drawback of the german version is the censorship in some episodes. Example, the fight Zoro vs. Mihawk….. you dont want it to watch in german. Let me describe it for you...... at the end of the fight ,where Zoro presents himself to mihawk, so he can slash him... they completey cut that part out. They were talking and suddenly Zoro is in the water with Blood all over his body. Unlike 4 Kids however they absolutely do not change the story line, characters, bgm whatsoever. They just cut out the bloody scenes....
-
How good is the Spanish Dub?
-
Greetings from Germany.
(Sorry for my English. I´ can not good English)Yes the OnePiece Dub ist very good, 100% better as from 4KIDS
RTL2 cuts only bloody scenes :glare:
http://op-cuts.animedigital.deand the Dialogues became around words as die, kill robbed.
The Synchro is very well occupied with us
-
@LordAnubis:
Greetings from Germany.
and the Dialogues became around words as die, kill robbed. Not always though ^^ Especially, during the Alabasta arc one sometimes can hear words like shit, to kill sb., killing sb…............. they even use "bitch" sometimes (well at least Zorro calls Nami that way ^___^" Quite funny imho )
-
At least Luffy's voice was better than the Spanish dub. And his Spanish voice was better than his English one. Usopp and Sanji's voices sound like their Japanese ones, too. Chopper's was the only problem I heard; he's supposed to sound cute!
-
I watch the Italian dub myself… apart from the name changes of Luffy into Rubber for I don't know what reason (in the manga it's Rufy) and a couple of romanizations, such as Vivi/Bibi - which is used in the italian version, I must say that it's a good dub, the voices suit all of the characters and I'm in love with the voices of Zoro and Sanji... they just do a great job... well, all of them are great IMO.
One negative thing to note, especially in the earlier eps (since we're running the Skypiea eps here) the cuts that were carried out, stills and screen turning into B&W when blood was visible. Apart from that... it's Ok ^___^ -
@Senshi:

Doesnt anybody have a few spanish dub clips? The only thing I heard so far were the first two openings (we are, believe)…... However, one cant really judge a dub with that. Exeption here is Gold Roger, who I must say, sounded not all that good.
Furthermore, .......... did anybody post the second german Opening before? ..... I would like to but I dont have it (well, I had it once but accidentally ereased it -_-" ) anymore. Cannot find it either (at least with the means of google...)..... crap!
-
The second one? Was that the German version of Hikari E?
-
@Senshi:
The second one? Was that the German version of Hikari E?
Yo, thats it. They Skipped "Believe" , my favourite opening….
-
@Der:
Yo, thats it. They Skipped "Believe" , my favourite opening….
I think they skipped it because you can see some scenes in the opening which have been cut in the German versionXD
By the way, I watched the Greek Dub once. It was okay and they didn't cut anything^^
-
I saw One Piece in Brazil
-
Hi everyone, I'm new in these forums and since you all have been wondering about the spanish dub I think It's a good idea to make a detailed description about it as my first post, please forgive possible (and probable ^^U) mistakes…
HOW FAR IS IT?
They aired the first 102 episodes (there are not merged episodes), and they are reairing them, someone told me that they bought the next 50 episodes and they are going to be aired in October but I'm not sure.
OPENINGS/ENDINGS
The openings and endingsare dubbed, someone posted a link to the 2nd opening in spanish I think, they're not bad at all. The soundtrack of the series remains intact.
GENERAL EDITS
Most japanese text is now spanish text, most of them are well done but two or three suffer from that "shaking effect". Aside of that, from the beginning until the Logue Town arc there's no censorship at all, from the Apis arc some japanese symbols dissappear and the blood is edited out, funny thing is, only blood done to good guys is cut, when Dolton attacks Wapol when he arrives for example, Wapol's blood is left intact. Another funny fact is that the dialogues don't change, when Zoro attemps to cut his legs in Little Garden there's no blood yet Nami insists that he's bleeding
ATTACKS
This is the worst aspect of this dub: most of them are now nameless, so now Zoro and Sanji say "IAAAAAAAAH" and "OAAAAAAH" a lot when they attack. Luffy's attacks, however, touches the bottom, all their names are now LAME rhymes, or not even rhymes at all:
Gomu Gomu no Gatling Gun!!: ¡¡Galleta Galleta Metralleta!! (Cookie Cookie Gatling Gun)
Gomu Gomu no Bazooka!!: ¡¡Estira, estiraaaa, lanzamientooo!! (Stretch, streeeech, Lauuuunch!!)
Gomu Gomu no Kane!!: Estira el cuello mazoooo…¡Cabezazo! (Stretch the neck a looot... Headbutt!)VOICES AND NAMES
Luffy: One of the worst voices, too deep, has mexican accent, his laugh is like Woody Woodpecker's.
Zoro: His name is now Zorro Ronoa, I prefer his voice in this dub, the original is too deep, it makes him look much older.
Nami: Good voice, not much to say.
Usopp: His name is now Usuff and, like someone says a few pages ago, he's a muslim, speaks with arab accent and say things such as "in the name of allah" and stuff.
Sanji: Good voice, it doesn't change too much when he's in "love mode" though…
Chopper: Doesn't sound as childish as in the subs but it's ok, only a bit deeper.
Robin: Good calm voice similar to her original but has the Baroque Works way of talking, more of that later. From now on I'll only mention name changes and voices worth of comments...
Alvida/Morgan Arc
Koby: Horribe, he talks like a 30 years old man, enough said.
Buggy Arc
Buggy: TOOOO SERIOUS, he doesn't sound like the mad clown we all know.
Kuro Arc
Kuro: One of the best voices, suitable.
Jango: I prefer his dubbed voice too, it sounds more… mysterious? Anyway, his "1, 2, Jango" is now "1, 2, 3".
Nyaban Brothers: Good dubbed voices too, they're higher and suits them well.Kreig Arc
Don Kreig: He's now Don Krieg, nice voice too.
Gin: Too deep, he sounds like he were choking all the time.
Pearl: His name is Perla (Pearl in spanish, ok, but seems the name of a woman), he has Zoro's voice but more affeminated, horrible voice.
Zeff: French accent, but sounds good.
Patty: Cuban accent, makes him sound too funny XD
Carne: Andaluz (southern Spain) accent, like Patty's voice, makes him sound more humorous.
Mihawk: He's either called "Ojos de Halcón" (Hawkeye) or "Cetrero Fantasmal" (Ghostly…something, sorry, can't translate it ^^U), he talks like he were in the Middle Age.Arlong Arc
Arlong: Pretty good voice, they added a surname, he's now Arlong Escualo (Squall I suppose), they him Arlong sometimes and Escualo others.
Hatchi: He's called Octy now, good voice.
Kuroobi: He's called… Blackbelt, yes, they used an english name in the spanish dub, no idea why. He talks like he has always something down his throat.
Chew: TOOOOOOO DEEEEEP, the deeper voice in the dub, for the love of god, he's choking and nobody helps him XDLogue Town Arc
Smoker: He's called now Malhumo (Bad smoke), no idea why, good voice.
Baroque Works
Well, to start, they ALL talk like if they were in the Middle Age, and by all, I mean Crocodile, Robin, all the agents, the billions, Igaram and Vivi (while they're still working for BW), everyone. And Insted of Mr.1, Mr.2, Mr.3… they are now Don Primero, Don Segundo, Don Tercero... (first, second, third...). Oh, and the group is called Banda Baroque.
Whiskey Peak Arc
Igaram: He's now called Igarapoi, his "Mah…Mah..." has changed to "Lalalalalala" from deep to high, I prefer his dubbed voice too.
Vivi: Good voice (I think all women are well dubbed, just mentioned her because she's important)
Karue: They replaced his duck sounds with turkey sounds.................-_-
Miss Valentine: She's called Doña ValentÃn, her laugh give me the creeps...Little Garden Arc
Mr.3: He's Don Tercero if you're paying attention XD He has the best voice of this dub, I first heard Mr.3's voice in Grand Battle 2 and It seems that both voices were done by the same actor.
Miss Goldenweek: She's called Doña Puente, good voice.Drum Arc
Drum is called Yembe in this dub… NO CLUE
Wapol: Nice voice, he sounds even more evil than in the subs.
Mr. 2 Bon Clay: He's now Don Segundo Bon Kure (pronounced Kiur), has Pearl's voice, that is, Zoro's voice but affeminated, horrible, I loved his original voice, at least they left his "un deux trois"...Arabasta Arc (until episode 102)
Half of Arabasta's townpeople have Usopp's voice XD
Crocodile: He should have had a deeper voice, well, it sounds like the original, not bad.
Cobra: Really bad voice… can't explain very well why ^^U
Chaka: Has Zeff's voice, french accent and all, horrible.Well, I think that's all for now, sorry for such a long post ^^U
I have all the dubbed episodes so if someone wants a video or sound clip for curiosity, I may do it ^^ -
Thanks for that info, Kaos!
Luffy: One of the worst voices, too deep, has mexican accent, his laugh is like Woody Woodpecker's.
LOL, the Spanish dub has something in common with the English dub. Luffy isnt' too deep, but he DOES also laugh like Woody Woodpecker. What's up with that?
Usopp: His name is now Usuff and, like someone says a few pages ago, he's a muslim, speaks with arab accent and say things such as "in the name of allah" and stuff.
I heard about that before. F'in hilarious. But messed up.
Karue: They replaced his duck sounds with turkey sounds…..............-_-
Wha?? XD Were they not able to find anyone to make quacking noises?
Igaram: He's now called Igarapoi
He's called Igarapoi in Japanese too, that's his undercover name.
Well, at least the Spanish dub doesn't cut whole story arcs and make really retarded edits like the English dub does.
-
Today Episode 169 of the german dub aired. Censorship is still present….... Um nothing more to say, I guess. Enels dub voice imho sound nice, pretty close to the original. Oh, and we got a new opening, I hope it works..... Anyways, enjoy and please post your opinions............................................ rapidshare.de/files/5723470/renamed_bers_Meer.wma.html

I want to talk more about the voices of the Chinese version. And BTW, the Chinese dub is currently at Davy Back Fight arc.
I am only restricted to the Chinese version, and I will talk about some.
Luffy: just like Jap one
Zoro: just like Jap one
Nami: very good
Usopp: sounds like a goat, but decent
Sanji: PERFECT. Even better than Jap one
Chopper: Darn cute voice!
Robin: way better than Jap one
Vivi: high pitche and whiny…Some of the villains:
Buggy: your typical 'monster type' voice, but it isn't bad either.
Kuro: perfect
Don Krieg: perfect, really like the Don.
Arlong: again, monster type voice.
Smoker: just like Jap one.
Crocodile: not as deep as the Jap one, but suitable
Eneru: What tone would people use to usually say the phrase, "Oooo... You're one sexy man..." That's how his voice is like...
Foxy: again, monster type voice, and it doesn't suit him!
Doflamingo: awful... Sounds just like American Sanji's voice...The only bad voice is Terracotta's... She's bad enough in the Jap version with a manly voice... Now the Chinese one made it worse by giving him Jap Igaram's voice!
-
sounds pretty amusing
-
I heard the Italian One Piece intro. It was renamed All'Arrembiago. They use clips from We Are, Believe, Run! Run! Run!, and from the show. The song is different, but it's pretty catchy.
And here it is!
-
in the italian dub why do they call luffy rubber?

After the first couple of seconds of the song, I knew that this was gonna pwn "One piece mothafucka" in every which way…
The Italian intro IS pretty catchy.

whoa…. that ruled... thanks for sharing that, I bet the Italian dub doesn't have many cuts or anything. Anyone have a translation of it?
-
Koreans leave everything alone, but does have couple minor name changes.
Sanji - Sang-Di (to fit korean pronunciation)
Kohza - Yu-Jabut they change Bon Clay's Okama to New-Half, which i honestly don't understand.
But it's really true, voices are decent. I give it 80% good.
-
Does New half stand for bisexual
-
Anyone have clips of the Italian episodes? I'd like to see that. Just because I love to hear Italian.
-
There´s not much positive to say about the german dub in comparison to the original. It´s an ok dub, with ok voices but with big translation mistakes sometimes.
However the one thing that is IMO dozen times better then in the original is Carue´s voice. The sounds are so fun to hear that it was one of the early components that actually hooked me to One Piece. No kidding. He was so awesome and I was utterly disappointed when I heard him in japanese.
-
I heard people complaining that the Cardcaptors dub was the worst in history. Could someone show me a website that has a dub/sub comparison guide?

Is there a french dub? I'd like to see what that's like if there is one
-
There is a french dub, but I've just seen one episode.
What I can say is that I hate Sanji, Usopp and Nami's voices. I don't remember about Luffy.
Concerning the edits, I know that Zoro is called Zoko and Monkey D. Luffy is now Luffy the Monkey. -
Here in Spain my first intro to One Piece was from the Spanish dub, I quite liked Luffy's voice because I'm one of those who object to having a woman doing a man's voice (Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Luffy's original voice).
Smoker's "Malhumo" (Bad Smoke) name is kinda like a play on words, you can call someone a "Malhumo" when they're being grumpy.
Yeah, that's my input, but pirateneko said all the useful stuff already. XD
-
Just to breath a little bit of new live into this thread…. If anyone is interested in the german dub (especially Sanji and Zoro), you should check this out
Funniest Scene ever :D
You ll either hate Choppers german voice or love it….. The clip even has a little bit of cursing.
(Note: Jango is called Jacko in the dub. Fullbody also has the voice of german Orlando Bloom ^^")
