Wonder who ll get his ass kicked 1st , Moria or Akainu.
Chapter 563 "One Man, One Heart" Discussion

I'm sad about the lack of Hancock reaction:/
It would have been interesting to see what she thinks of what's happening to Whitebeard.
I'm pretty glad that we got to see pretty much the rest of the New World Pirates shown initially like Doma, McGuy and the Knight guy.
Also Whitebeard is epic.
Oh and pissed that Buggy bit it, so much potentialT_T
-
I wonder if Buggy breaks while frozen he's still able to reform. Would be another nice moment for him hehe

Then Aokiji can join the fail list with Failhawk and Failbeard as Failkiji.

:ninja:
buggy would once agian be able to boaast about taking aokiji's attack like nothing.
-
I expected this reaction by you…
Stuff will be epic in the New World with Moria and Whitebeard's zombie with Crocoboy's shadow.
-
this chapter was epic during the 2nd read through i saw Morias face and it made me smile. also i dont think BB will show up now with all the cameras not working.
-
i cant remember well, how does Squardo know that Ace is Rogers son?
-
Um… because Sengoku screamed it into the loud speaker snail?
-
While looking back on the war chapters I noticed a few minor details based off what we now know (again minor):
1st was this scene: http://www.mangafox.com/manga/one_piece/v55/c556/10.html
At 1st when I read this I thought that the entire scene was referring to Ace and his execution but now I think the pirate that Garp was referring to wasn't Ace but instead was WB when he said no pity for villains, (I think Sengoku was asking whether or not Garp had a problem with the Squardo manipulation part of the plan) then Garp begins to think of Ace when he speaks of family being different.
Also the part with Whitey Bay: http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-556/page009.html
This scene about the iceberg must of meant one of the tidal waves, so it was suggested to be blocking the way in and out of the bay as early as 556, so I guess Whitey Bay and her crew would've been the only ones able to get in and out without WB's help.

@Kairouseki:
Um… because Sengoku screamed it into the loud speaker snail?
the pirate ships were not there in that moment
also, how does squardo know about Wb making Ace the pirate king? -
LOL! Thx I needed that.
EDIT: Wait, you may have a valid point there…. hmmm...
Actually no... The broadcast about Ace being Roger's son was a totally public broadcast, so it's quite possible for pirates to hear I'd imagine.

also, how does squardo know about Wb making Ace the pirate king?I guess you're right that they weren't there yet but he did scream it very loudly so they still could have heard it. They might have also had a monitor on their ship. I don't know :ermm: .
BTW I found a picture showing the Shichibukai being huge from my old argument.

I'm waiting for Buggy to unfreeze and cause chaos for the marines once more.

Remember that the pirates had the ability to intercept marine transmissions (like police scanners I assume) which is how Sengoku tried to bait the pirates with the plan to execute Ace early, that was a setup to get all the pirates to blindly rush forward so that Sengoku could trap them in the bay.

impossible.if its like u said, why squardo runs motivated against the marines?

I don't understand what you're saying.

[/hide]That's just the perspective. Hancock & Mihawk are standing closer to readers while the other 3 and that marines are in the background. Just look at that Marine right behind Hancock. His size is about as big as hers.

Hancock is probably either still swooning over Luffy, or pissed off that Kizaru kicked Luffy.
If Buggy were never unfrozen, I'd be pretty happy
on the open sea, monitors and speakers?
You raise a good point. It's minor, but quite plausible that Oda didn't think that one through, or maybe he did. It could be a nice SBS question.
I'm sure Oda's answer would be something like… Oh, the NW pirates have receivers, or Akainu told Squad, something to that effect.
-
That's a hell of a funky perspective.
-
on the open sea, monitors and speakers?
More likely they had this stuff on their own ships. You know like when Luffy was communicating with the Marine HQ from the battleship out. Considering that we're talking about an entire pirate fleet here that went to invade the Marine HQ stuff like phone snails and the like would be very useful equipment in order to communicate amongst each other don't you think? So yeah, they could have intercepted the broadcast with said equipment.
-
impossible.if its like u said, why squardo runs motivated against the marines?
Because he wants to concentrate on the battle ahead first and settle things with WB later?
-
@Kairouseki:
That's a hell of a funky perspective.
Doflamingo and Blackbeard are big guys, and of course, Moria and Kuma are giants.
Mihawk is regular size. At least, this is how I always envisioned them. -

I'd figure she'd get at least ONE panel. It's bad for her potential character development:/ Then again Kuma, Smoker, Coby etc. didnt get one either so maybe it's a coincidence:E

Hmm maybe because Sengoku didn't put it on a channel that could easily be intercepted, hell they only said plan TOTTZ which they could've discussed beforehand in a war room so that when on the battlefield they could use a codename (TOTTZ) and even if it's intercepted it wouldn't matter.
Sengoku purposely gave the Roger revelation so that it would be heard by everyone (including the pirates) and to further support that the pirates can intercept den den transmissions, here this scene: http://www.mangafox.com/manga/one_piece/v55/c558/3.html

no.marco knew about the execution in advance with his own ears

ok,possibly the pirates intercepted the rogers son part, but i find hard to believe that Squardo after that news fights like this
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/553/12-13/
he hates roger -
no.marco knew about the execution in advance with his own ears
Weren't you asking how Squad found out that Ace is Rogers son? At least that's what I replied to.
-
no.marco knew about the execution in advance with his own ears
Don't the pirate captains/commanders on the battlefield also have phone snails to communicate?
-
@$abZ:
Moria and Kuma aren't as big as giants. They're just very big guys.
I don't have time to search, but wasn't Moria introduced as a giant?? or was this a bad translation :getlost:
-
I still have some difficulty believing anyone could fall for such a cheap lie like Squardo did if it weren't for plot reasons. And how the hell could he not know one of the Marine Admirals. There's only 3 of them and he's an experienced New World captain ffs.
-
Unbelievably floaty wood.

he hates rogerSo he said he felt betrayed by that point but he wasn't ready to betray WB till after Akainu contacted him and lied about WB setting the NW captains up. Squardo even mentions the fact that Ace was Roger's son as the first betrayal but from the way it's said I don't think he was ready to betray WB for that alone.
He says that was already a betrayal: http://www.mangafox.com/manga/one_piece/v55/c563/5.html

No he wasn't. Thriller Bark was introduced as the world's largest giant ship which is probably why people took him to be a giant but he himself was never labeled as such.
-
-
Akainu told Squardo is how he knew.
It's the only way Squardo along with all the other information to confuse Squardo into doing what he did.
If he knew before hand he would stopped the 43 ships and confronted WB before the war even started.
-

so u say that squardo did not care about ace being rogers son in a first moment, but later somehow he changed mind.crazy

I've come to terms with Boa Hancock's character, but she doesn't need anymore development. She's tied to Luffy, and there's no higher development than that.
No he wasn't. Thriller Bark was introduced as the world's largest giant ship which is probably why people took him to be a giant but he himself was never labeled as such.
Thx. Noted. Speaking of large people. Is WB's size changing, or was he always this humongous. Squad seemed like a bug when WB bent over to hug him.
-
Isnt the stache about the same size as Moria and Kuma?
Which is about up to the upper leg of normal sized gigant
-
Akainu told Squardo is how he knew.
It's the only way Squardo along with all the other information to confuse Squardo into doing what he did.
I seriously doubt that Akainu told him. It's a bit too much of information for a single person to take and to believe it actually if he hears all of it at once.
If he knew before hand he would stopped the 43 ships and confronted WB before the war even started.
Not necessarily. After all, he is a loyal son of Whitebeard so he most certainly has some responsibility to the old man. Of course it must have hurt him a lot to hear that Ace is Rogers son but still I doubt that this is enough to make him turn around 180 already, since he's been shown to be hesitant to believe Akainu at first. He doesn't strike as somebody who does things on a whim so he most certainly wouldn't have objected to the war right before the gates of Marineford after he came all the way from the New World. After all he's still a loyal son of Whitebeard.
-
I always thought WB and Kuma and others like that were just over sized humans and not giants.
-
Thx. Noted. Speaking of large people. Is WB's size changing, or was he always this humongous. Squad seemed like a bug when WB bent over to hug him.
When we first saw him in front of Rockstar he certainly seemed exactly that big. Also in the spread when Shanks met him. It's actually those shots with Luffy where his size seemed to have decreased (which I always hoped was just a perspective thing).
-
so u say that squardo did not care about ace being rogers son in a first moment, but later somehow he changed mind.crazy
No as in it bothered him but it wasn't enough to make him not fight and try to betray WB but when Akainu told him the lie and he saw that they were trapped by the frozen wave that WB caused (frozen by Aokiji which could also make it seem like a marine + WB setup) and that the Pacifistas were only killing NW pirates it was the straw that broke the camels back and caused Squardo to snap.
-

i doubt it,he says "Dammit, I was friends with Ace".
he was no more(now probably he wants to be again!).so yes i think that was enough to make him turn around 180 -

Correct. It's one thing to find out that the guy you are going to rescue is the son of the guy you hate must but it's a totally different thing to find out that the person you're following is offering your head to the enemy on a silver plate just to safe himself. It should be obvious why the latter is far more frustrating then the first.
i doubt it,he says "Dammit, I was friends with Ace".
he is no more.so yes i think that was enough to make him turn around 180What does that have to do with the timing? He can easily have stopped considering Ace a friend after hearing the broadcast and still be willing to fight the war because of his loyality to Whitebeard.
