Syan, you are not the only one. According to 4chan, it happened to the entire west coast.
Venture Brothers

Damn it all! Now I've gotta wait even longer to see it
-
Syan, you are not the only one. According to 4chan, it happened to the entire west coast.
Wow. Major fuckup right there. I feel for ya my west side brothers.
-
I was just going moan about having forgotten about it, despite my constant self reminders, but it looks like I didn't miss too much <.< (I'm on the west coast)
-
Wow, the entire west coast? Talk about a fuckup. I rewatched the episode on the reair and it was definitely easier to follow this time around.
Speaking of which, was the west coast fixed for the reair?
-
Speaking of which, was the west coast fixed for the reair?
Tell you in a bit. It doesn't reair for another 15 minutes.
EDIT: Yep, it aired the full episode. Brock got out of shape and back to fit nice and quickly. Haha, very good episode, but s2 still has my favorite season opener.
-
It sucked that I had to wait until Midnight (there was a viewing at 9 over here but another show was on) and then it repeated itself. My friend and I were so confused, but at least I was able to watch the rest online.

For those having trouble with the out-of-sequence-ness of this episode, (especially those on the West Coast), here's a chronological (I think) breakdown of what happened.
Basically, the Brock stuff happened in sequence, while the Venture compound stuff happened backwards. (Wasn't really a need for it, outside of the payoff on the expensive comic book joke…)
A 95 % Chronological Breakdown of Tonight's Episode
! - Aftermath; Season 3
! - Brock wakes up in OSI (SHED) facility, overhears doctors talking (they speak of memory wipes & attitude adjustment, but are actually referring to Sgt. Hatred, who is revealed to have been a part of the agency, but went traitor) Brock escapes with Helper's head fused to his chest.
! - Agents occupy the Venture compound from last seasons aftermath, everyone is under surveillance. Brock arrives under stealth and meets with Dean in secret to pass his comm link to Dr. Venture. Hank arrives & doesn't believe him at first, but sees the comm and realizes he IS still alive…
! - In a not-too-distant-jungle, Herr Doctor supposedly secures Hitler's blood... in dog, meanwhile Brock arrives to have underworld surgery performed to have Helper separated. With help from a grenade in his mouth. The procedure works & Brock mails back Helper & some personal effects.
! - Nazis arrive at the compound to seek Dr. Venture's cloning expertise, where they reveal the dog holds the blood grail of the Fuhrer. They tell him he has no more than 8 months to create a bouncing baby Hitler from him (supposedly Hitler, or someone closely related to him, screwed a pooch)
! - 21 seeks to have Dr. Venture clone 24, and offers his Marvel Comics issue #1 ($500,000) as collateral/payment. Rusty quickly shoo's him off, and gives the comic to Hank. The value decreases with each passing second... 24's finger is left behind in a cooler, and the X-1 is loaned/borrowed at some point.
! - The package arrives, and Helper is reset. Brock goes into hiding...
! - While staying with Steve & Bigfoot for months in their cabin in the woods, Brock is enormously fat & soft (with full beard), and realizes this when he decides to leave & seek out revenge on those who wronged him... starting with Molotov & Hunter Gathers.
! - Dean field strips a handgun for over an hour, with expert precision. Hatred attempts to win over Hank in Brock's absence to.... bloody results. Helper 2.0 is revealed by Dr. Venture from the newly returned head... now with spider legs!
! - While attempting to get the (very heavy) drop on Molotov & Gathers, Brock runs afoul of a Sphinx agent in the air ducts, and is shot by Molotov while goading Gathers. Brock fall out a window, bounces from a palm tree & is scooped up by Sphinx agents.
! - Under questioning, the Sphinx agents ask Brock about his motive & who he's working for. After cooperating to the best of his ability, he is revealed to have been tied up with Hunter Gathers, who goes only to slowly reveal his true role to Brock... leader of a band of Sphinx/ex-OSI agents, full male, sans sex-change & knowing dick.
! - The X-1 returns with the former 21 & his LARP crew, the Orchard St. Wolfpac; the jet has been heavily graffitied by the Monarch's crew. 21 seeks to have 24 brought back by Orpheus (a necromancer) while Hitler the dog begins to show the great evil in him. "Uhhh... What comic were you reading?" Meanwhile, the Nazis arrive to collect their former fuhrer with negative results...
! - The boys, Orpheus & Hatred plot saving Doc... in the bathroom. The Golden Dagger is revealed to be the only thing to kill Hitler... again.
! - (and this is the scene that STARTED the episode) Sniper nest by Sgt. Hatred & Hank in attempt to save Dr. Venture from Nazis; Dean has lost the Golden Dagger, while Hitler is supposedly inside of (or has become dog) - Hatred orders Helper 2.0 to destroy Hitler, while Dean attempts a save & Orpheus attempts to quell the situation with a spell that goes awry. Nazis are taken out by stray lightning/magic, and go Raiders all over Rusty.
! - All that remains is to destroy Hitler the dog, who is a bout to make a sneak attack on Dean, until it is foiled by a newly svelte & streamlined... Brock Samson. Brock wrestles the dog & stabs him with the secretly acquired Golden Dagger, and can now cross stabbing Hitler off of his cool things to do list. He makes Hank swear to secrecy that he is aware of his status & wishes him well, knowing he will see him again...

That timeline makes things so much easier. I had a basic understanding of what order things happened in, but there were some moments where I had no idea where it fit in.
Still a great episode.
-
I really would edit the episode into correct order, if I knew someone else probably wasn't already doing that and thus making me waste my time for nothing.
-
something happened to the PT airing of the venture bros so AS is airing it all week at 12:30
What happened though? (i missed the premiere)
-
The episode's premiere was fucked up for the entire west coast, the first half of the episode repeated during the second half. Pretty cool that they're doing that. If they were doing that for the east I'd probably watch it every night.
-
Aaaaand, they are! Blood of the Father, Heart of Steel everynight this week for the entire country. Cartoon Network actually had the episode in HD on their HD feed, wonder if these showings will as its usually only premieres.
-
That fuckup pissed me off and confused the hell out of me. I actually thought it was intentional at first.
Still pretty epic episode, confusing though. Did not see that ending coming.
-
For those who have still missed it, [as] is reairing it at 12:30 AM each weeknight through thursday this week.

I just said that. Also, DW, I know it's Sanji from the Drum arc boxart, but I can't help but see an Odavised version of the new Hank as your avatar now.
-
Woah, how did I miss that? Bad habit of scrolling down too fast, perhaps…
-
Nice to see this show hasn't lost its touch on any front: comedy, plot, narrative, characters… Great, great shit.
Also, the post-credits scene had some of the best lines in the entire series, bar none.
-
I missed the last couple of seasons but this season 4 premiere is awesome.
Hank is becoming a bad ass. -

I see it a little bit.
I missed the last couple of seasons but this season 4 premiere is awesome.
Hank is becoming a bad ass.Hank has always been badass.
-
What do you think Hank's most badass moment was? I still favor the humping of the hand dryer.
-
Dude, the guy totally killed Hitler.

Just watched the new episode, and it was awesome. This was classic Venture Bros. at its finest. Everyone, especially the Monarch and the new character Capt. Sunshine, were great (and CS was voiced by Keving Conroy no less). CS freaking out over Hank and The Monarch taunting CS while wearing the Wonerboy costume were the funniest parts for me.
-
Weatherbot 5 for the win!!!
-
I died a little inside.
-
For somebody as smart as Dr. Girlfriend is, that secret weapon was pretty damn stupid.
-
I didn't care for this episode, honestly. Shame with it being a Monarch episode. Still some awesome lines tho.
-
Damn. Tough crowd here at APforums. They ate this episode up over at Toonzone, and personally I loved it.
-
I loved how they brought a character that was mentioned all the way back in season one.
-
Oh… My... god... I was in stitches... I still am... god... it's Batman... it's Batman parodying Batman... oh my god this episode was amazing... and I NEVER thought the Captain sunshine thing would come back!! XD
"To this DAY, he STILL thinks I'm invulnerable!" XDOh god this was amazing, not to mention Hank's Batman comment at the end. It was so much funnier knowing Sunshine has Batman's voice.
If this is a good indication of how good this season's gonna be, I'm looking forward to a GREAT ride!
-
Good God Kevin Conroy I love you so much.
-
Oh man xDDD I loved the Season 4 Venture Bro's premiere SOO SOOOO MUCH __ and then yesterday's episode was like icing on the cake! CS was such a disgusting pedo.. OH GOD.. He made Captain Hatred look tame xD OH GOD.. Captain Hatred thinking Billy was a kid.. OH GOD.. OHHHH MY GOD MY SIS CALLED THIS XDDDDDDDD dies
The Monarch was GREAT in yesterdays ep..it reminded me of when he was in prison xD OH GOD This just reassures me why the Monarch is one of my favorite characters!!! Soo damn awesome. Next weeks ep looks AWESOME TOO JESUS..I'm sooo thankful Season 4 is FINALLY HERE
-
Ha ha, now that's more like it XD
-
The Captain Sunshine character is actually why I disliked this episode. Everyone has done the whole "Pedo Superhero with a young unsuspecting sidekick" joke for years now, and they just repeated it. They brought absolutely nothing new to the table. The whole thing felt like a rejected script submitted by a Venture Bros. fan.
-
Come on…the monarchs taunt at the end when he was dressed as wonderboy...that was great...i like the episode alot, its a funny formula with a venture spin...
-
Ehhh… I'm with Buuhan on this one; pedophilia isn't inherently funny like a lot of comedy writers (Family Guy's manatee army for instance) seem to think this is. This episode was pretty much an extended "Batman is gay for Robin" joke and that's rapidly reaching Henny Youngman levels of overused.
Subtract that and what do you really have?
-
Subtract that and what do you really have?
Some pretty awesome Dr. Venture/Monarch interactions :D
-

Pedophilia isn't funny, I agree, but cartoon-superhero-kevin-conroy pedophilia is damned hilarious imo.
-

This is also my statement.
-
I don't think he's a pedophile and that's what I love. Every statement strongly hints towards it, but they all have legitimate reasons, like the entire lube thing, which turns out to legitimately be for the costume. There was a love between Sunshine Superman and his Toy Boy, but it wasn't creepy uncle love.
Also, best line:
"I, too, know the terrible pain of loss, the hollowness one feels when one is just going through the motions of life, like a living ghost or a robot."
-
It was a 22 minute rape joke. From multiple characters. NOT funny IMO. The saving grace on it of course was that it was freaking KEVIN CONROY doing it, which added a few layers to it, but if you DON'T know that fact, it completley falls apart.
And the Monarch/Rusty interactions, while fun, are the same as they've been for three seasons. Funny, but repetitive, and it felt very much like a retread of a season one episode when they had to pretend the hostages were properly hostaged. (The episode where Dean had testicle problems, I think.) Hatred, while a change of pace from Brock… is no Brock. And I just don't find his voice or shtick all that funny. All these elements combined?
Eh. Weak episode. Especially compared to the premiere, which for all its time jumping hard to follow-ness, did a whole lot of plot movement and character stuff.
I'm still hoping they follow up on Rusty going badguy. THAT was an incredibly interesting direction, full of fertile new storytelling ground
-
I think that the Monarch/Rusty moments were pretty fun, especially the Monarch's comment on the doctor's sex life (or lack thereof) and the completely screwed up first tradeoff. The one main part I thought was lame was the Monarch's 'secret weapon', which sounded like a pretty bad idea from his description of it.
-
I don't think he's a pedophile and that's what I love. Every statement strongly hints towards it, but they all have legitimate reasons
I thought it was going to be that way too, just having him be creepy, but at the end he full-on kisses Hank thereby proving the whole gay pedophile thing.
-
Again, though, I see that as more of an actual love. Either that or a Godfather II reference.
-
All in all, poor episode. But I know the guys will make up for it. But I agree, I never cared for Hatred and the series just isn't the same without Brock.
-
Again, there just wasn't all that much to the episode once you subtract the pedophile jokes, which was directly referenced by Captain Sunshine's colleagues on the News Team. The Rusty-Monarch banter has been done before (and Rusty should have been a bit more familiar with how these hostage situations are supposed to work) and Hatred took a step backwards from the season opener in characterization. He's basically the creepy whiner that he was at the end of the last season rather than the almost insanely cheerful and dedicated member of Team Venture that he was the week before.
-
I love Hatred, I think he's hilarious. Putting him in Brock's shoes is a big step up. I'm still giving him time.
-
Alright, I'll give him some more time, simply cause I know the guys can make this awesome.
