Ya fourteen year old SPRATS ain't excluded from this'n either! Yo mama wants you to go mow the lawn? DO IT. Yer pappy got to clean out his gutters and can't do it without some young back to bend for him? BEND OVER.
Earn yer DEEVEEDEES.
They should avail themselves of some RESPONSIBILITY.
The curs.
Dun come begging to us on some fancy shmancy FORUM POSTIN' THREAD askin' fer yer next FIX.
We ain't complyin' folks in nature.

Indeed. Why, I find myself so vexed, I've half a mind to set the dogs on them!
Peh. Can't go two steps without stumblin' over these yellow-bellied yelpers! DERN SHAME what these young'uns've begun doin'.
YAWLIN' over $50 for some 13 episodes? SHAMEFUL. Not more'n five-six years ago, even them DEEVEEDEES were $50 for 2 or 3 episodes, and it was hailed as a GREAT EVENT. Shut up them mouths begging for more.
I wholeheartedly agree. Why, those poor Japanese folk still have to part with exorbitant amounts for a meagre selection of episodes.
Blackguards don't know how good they have it.
Wow, I'm thick. I never thought of Sanji's "Nami-swan!" as him adding a 'w' to -san. I always thought he was calling her a Swan. You know, like the bird.
I got that "Robin-chawn" was a baby-speak way of saying '-chan', but it never occurred to me that he was doing it for both.
AND THEMS the kicks too!
Biters ain't got a CLUE to 'em names.
SSLLLRRP
GEYUUURRRP, sad state this'n generation's headin'! Yessirree, you mark my words. The next batch'll cry about $50 for a WHOLE SEASON, I reckon.
Can't please 'em, rrmmmnope.
@Charagon:
Wow, I'm thick.
posterity
'Tis the sad truth.
Charagon, you old soak! Have a draught of what the lady's drinking and cheer up! There's no shame in your misapprehension. Indeed, Funi availed themselves of it for a rather neat little translation.
Is this the thread where I can post my essay about the 16,754 minor errors I've noticed in Funi's dubbing, the detrimental effect they have on my viewing experience and how these errors make it perfectly reasonable for me to letter bomb Funi employee's houses?
cause I've been looking forward to it all week
No.
You must have taken the wrong turning at albuquerque.
I knew I should have turned left…
We already got 'em beggin' for the whole series in one shot! Yeh hear 'em even now wonderin' when's they gonna GIVE 'em the shiney full season sets 'n pins 'n whistles!
Hmmm…so at the earliest we can expect S2P4 to start coming in late November.
Quite looking forward to it.
Quite .
Quite so. .
So, I just finished watching Third Voyage. As always, FUNi did an excellent job, aside from that little audio-glitch at the end of disc one. Also, having recently watched Movie 9, I found it interesting to compare the two. In general, I'd say the movie was slightly better, though the scene with Luffy climbing the Drum Rockies had a much greater impact here. I mean, damn, that looked horrifyingly painful.
Oh, but was Ace's voice always that deep? I seem to recall him sounding slightly younger in the Jaya-episodes on CN. Also, while this is nothing new, I noticed that they used "Nefeltari Vivi" in Movie 8, and "Nefertari Vivi" in the TV-series.
In any case, I'm really looking forward to the next three sets. Finally, we've reached the Alabasta-arc!
Mmmnope, Ace was pretty deep back then too.
It's very weird sounding.
yeah ace's voice always sounded a little off to me, but i just thought it was because i was so used to his 4kids voice after playing grand adventure for months. but i guess im not the only one. How is it compared to the original japanese one??
@Elektrik:

His 4kids voice is somewhat okay. Sounds like a surfer bishie IMO. Compared to the Japanese voice, it's like 2 tones deeper (Funi and 4kids)
Lol, it seems that the 2 characters voiced by Toshio Furukawa (Ace and Piccolo) have much deeper, yet well-sounding voices in Funi's dub.
Now, enough 4kids talk. S2V4 will be here before we know it. I'm looking for plenty of funny scenes…such as:
"So many marines out here."
Sanji - "Yeah, they're probably chasing some dumbass pirate."
they see Luffy running
Everyone: It's YOU?!
So I was watching Movie 8 and Crocodile's speech while he's dropping Vivi to the ground below was phenomenal. Was that same speech in the original episodes?
I'm talking about the one where he called Vivi pathetic and "an undesirable woman".
Just about. Why would they make a new one up?

Actually, the only DVD clip we have of Ace is this first moment with him where he's still "Dark and mysterious". You aren't supposed to know he's a good guy yet, just that he's a guy in a black trench coat looking for Luffy, so his voice is "Darker" to add to that mystery right now. He'll most likely talk more normally when he makes his full appearance, though you're right, Willingham does sound good as Ace XD
Ace's FUNi voice is just plain deep.
He talked when he met Buggy around the Jaya Arc. We've heard his Ace before.
yeah and also in unlimited adventure. but he sounded fine in that
Actually, yeah, I remember that now.
He sounds a bit more in his element like that.
I think I might be mored used to the Japanese voice still though since he's not that deep.
Hye, I have a question. And I really need to know. I havent watch the funimation, but is it exactly like the japanese one? Sanji smokes a cigarette, not lolipop. There's blood and no episode cut?
It is completely unedited.
The FUNi version is nearly identical to the Japanese version, quality-wise. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, where as characters like Sanji have better Japanese voices, whilst Nami and Eneru have superior dub voices. Then again, it's all a matter of opinion :) I recommend buying the FUNi DVDs, as they have both language tracks available. :)

Actually, I was more comparing the Japanese voice to Funis. Drum Island or not, it
s still deeper than the Jap. voice. But I totally agree with you. Willingham is awesome as Ace.
IMO, Willingham Ace >= Furukawa Ace.
And R0R0N0A Z0R0, you should pick up one of the DVDs when you get the chance. Yuugi and Kitsune explained the context of them. You won
t be disappointed.
(@ R0R0N0A Z0R0) Pretty much it's the japanese version, just in english. ^.^
When might we expect Rightstuf to ship out the latest set?
My guess is late November or early December.
Late in the Last week of November or Early in the First week of December.
Just a month or so to go… man that went by fast!
New FUNi solits are out…no One Piece, or Dragon Ball of any kind. But at least Soul Eater is finally here!
Do we have the February Releases then?
Yes Rin, here they are from Mania.com's forum:
http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=96809
Not happy Soul Eater is MSRPing for that much but I'm not that surprised. Oh well.
EDIT: Oh yeah, One Piece. Sixth Voyage will probably make an appearance March.
I cant believe its almost S3 already.. im still on S1 V2 lol
Yes, speaking of season 3… It should be only about four or five sets (hoping five, G8 belongs with Skypiea). So we should get that finished up rather quickly and then we'll finally be at Season 4!
Yeah, I'll be waiting on for Soul Eater for awhile then. Since thats little too expensive for me right now and wait for the price to lower down bit on amazon or overstock for the show.
On RightStuf, hopefully SE'll be about 45 bucks? Other than that, I'm guessing March is when we get Voyage 6 :)
@Dixxy:
Yes Rin, here they are from Mania.com's forum:
Keep in mind that those are preliminary solicitations. It's still possible that more stuff might be coming out in February. And if not… Hey, at least Soul Eater is finally coming out. I've been waiting for that one.
so is soul eater 1-13? 1-25? or 1-52 episodes? the "complete" collection and "part 1" is confusing me

In the press release FUNI said it would be released in 4 sets. But yeah that is a perliminary list people's the full list will be posted when RS puts them on their site.

1-13. And yeah, the whole "Complete Collection Part One"-stuff is pretty ridicculous. I mean, if it's PART ONE, then it obviously isn't "COMPLETE", is it?
It is indicating that it will be complete. Anywho, I am waiting for the Blu.
Getting back to One Piece, if part 6 doesn't come out in Feb, I won't be disappointed since we are supposedly getting 2 in back to back months.
Well, we got S2P2 in August, S2P3 in September, got two consecutive months of nothin', followed by another two of somethin'. I suspect S2P6 to hit April, and S2P7 May (the three year anniversary of the begginning of production).
Why is Soul Eater so much more than One Piece? For the same number of episodes?
I'll have to wait for Rightstuff…
So this means no OP in February? How far into Alabasta will Fifth Voyage bring us?
