@Aldrich:
No one gives a fuck about "Ace maturing on his own"
This story isn't about "Ace maturing on his own", it's about the straw hat crew on their road to the top of the world
They don't need another rival, especially not one who sounds like every terrible fan constructed character at FF.net
So you're saying we should focus solely on the main characters without considering the side characters and external forces? Sounds like Naruto.
And whether Ace is a bad character or not is subjective and irrelevant to his potential character development. Just because you don't give a fuck, doesn't mean no one else does.
@Aldrich:
Why would Luffy give a crap about BB killing WB, because it hurt Ace? If Ace is alive he can deal with his own business
It'd be a roundabout, forced way to artificially maintain a conflict between the two, basically garbage
For all you know and most probably is going to happen, Whitebeard will save Luffy's life countless times in this war and Luffy gets attached easily.
The fact that he almost got Ace killed, killed Whitebeard and is in the way to his goal to being Pirate King are enough to give a realistic scenario for a conflict.
@Aldrich:
Duval was a pretty cool character
Yeah he was.
@Aldrich:
Then what the fuck are you even talking about
You just confirmed what I said, that whether Ace dies or survives it has no bearing on the significance of these arcs
How retarded can you get seriously
If it has no significance, then him dying would be pointless. Good to see you agree with me on that front. Him living on the other hand WOULD have a point.
@Aldrich:
So? Who died and decided Luffy had to succeed? And no, it wouldn't have been pointless, it'd have cemented his status as number one rookie and put him as Whitebeard's potential successor, sworn enemy of Blackbeard, and basically the leader of the new era Sengoku thought Ace would become if he was left alive
Yes it would be. Luffy's given everything he had to save Ace. For him to not succeed in his goal after everything he's been through, especially given the losing streak he's been having, would be awful. What would cement Luffy's number one status as a rookie and make him basically a potential leader of the new era would be if he saved Ace. Otherwise, what would have been so special of him entering the war? He tore up some fodder? Big deal.

Your username is awful and you're an awful poster
The pot calling the kettle black.
