Oh, I was talking about the one here, didn't know that the anime went ahead and did up the Shichibukai colorspread. That's pretty cool, and I guess that there's no point in hiding Jimbei since he's there for all to see in Share The World.
416: ''Rescue Ace! The Next Destination is the Great Prison''

That was in last week's episode? Where? I don't remember seeing it…
-
It was in this week's episode.
-
Oh, I was talking about the one here,
Thought so, but I just wanted to point out that the anime basically said 'screw that, we're showing it now'.
@Super-Franky:That was in last week's episode? Where? I don't remember seeing it…
That was today. Just like this one.

-
Heh, they practically gave away Akainu's entire appearance. Showing him with his back turned or something would've been more discrete.
-
Well, it looks like the sizes are still wacky. Even Nyon. I think at one point it looked like she was only as tall as Luffy's knee.
-
Just finished watching the episode. It was great i enjoyed. Luffy singing binks sake is going to be a classic!
-
Decent episode, the banquet scene was a bit much if you ask me, but Toei did great when Luffy decided to sing Bink's Sake :D. The SH crew images behind Luffy was golden, gave the same feeling as in the manga. Next episode looks like it's going to be more rewarding, Jimbei's silhouette wooo XD.
-
Pretty average filler episode. However, I DID like the filler.
-
This ep annoyed the fuck out of me. There were only 3 good parts to this ep Luffy Singing, The Warlord Spread, and Akainu.
WHY HASNT LUFFY LEFT YET?! e-o it annoys me. They could've had this ep end with them
Ok after rereading this chapter (522) They cut a whole 5 pages of stuff.
….It all makes sense now...They're going to drag the next ep out so they can cut another 5 pages of content and the straw hat's in one swoop.
-
I like how the Shichibukai pic has Jinbei in chains, pretty much spoiling that he's some type of prisoner for the non manga readers. -_-
-
I guess that the 418 will show all the Straw Hats at once(2 chapters). I predict that 417 ends with the Garp - Ace meeting clifffhanger.
-
Any chance to see this episode on Wii somehow? I got access to internet but I don't have a god damn computer now. If anyone could help it would be nice.
-
What the fudge, you mean this episode didn't climax with the Love Sickness? Damn it, I loved that climax.
-
Cripes! The Funimation simulcast isn't working for me! It keeps coming up, ERROR in the top left corner in red type.
-
Same here. Error message.
-
awesome n_n
-
any youtube raw?..
-
This post is deleted!
-
I really liked the filler segments of this episode. Paranoid watchers can go to hell.
-
The raws have been extremely late this and the past few weeks. I'm willing to pay to get myself a raw capper.
-
The admirals bit was superb.
-
I liked the ep, besides the fact that it was so much filler. But I checked and it only covered pages 1-14 of chapter 522. I don't get why it is slowing down to a crawl. There will be plenty of opportunities for filler-stuffing in the upcoming fights. And they're 34 chapters behind the manga, isn't that enough?..
-
The filler has been great so I don't see any reason to complain.
-
Tah, you can't be a ninja is you run that slowly! That part looked kinda lame, unfortunately, but was that another new piece of music I heard during that scene? That'll be awesome if true. We need more new music.
Though I still think that it's wall-bangingly stupid that Marguerite is entirely okay with the fact that her idol came within a hair's breath of killing her.
-

I think you're right, and this pacing explains why they had to put in so much filler now.
Oh and I liked the art a lot better than last episode.
-

Not really… Considering how a lot of those chapters are pure action-chapters, that the last couple of chapters that have been released have all been unusually short, and that they don't really have anywhere they can put any fillers at the moment, (except for showing what the other Straw Hats are doing, which I fully expect them to do, as the manga seems to only be giving some very brief summaries of what's going on with them) the way they're pacing things at the moment makes perfect sense.
-
What i still dont comprehend is why they didnt put the filler inbetween thriller bark and the red line? Because this slow pace is pissin me off. I thought they had some kind of plan but it looks like they were just stupid as fucking hell.

Meh, this is One Piece where people are made of tougher stuff. Buggy, Luffy, Crocodile, Mr.2 and Mr. 3 all tried to kill each other throughout the series and they had no problems working together.
-
Yeah I don't know how they're going to handle what's going on with them. I think it'll be explained later in the manga though.

Because then people would bitch about the long filler arcs. Honestly, the pacing is much better than Enies Lobby/ Thriller Bark. They're injecting smart, sensible filler and I for one am liking it.
-
I agree the pacing isnt that horrible, and they're not stretching it out with long stares or something(naruto? lul) They're doing some smart stuff so I dont mind
-
I like the filler too as I think they are pretty crafty as of the last arc(except the Law and Kidd ones). Expect alot of extended storyboards later on, especially in Impel Down. I think it adds more to situations rather than take away, as Oda is already making chapters that have a rushed feel(plenty of room to be creative).

Thank you, this is a very good point. Be grateful that in One Piece you get smart filler rather than entire minutes of nothing but endless staring and powering up.

…Ummm, they did? Spa Island and Brook trying to fit into the crew, anyone? Having anything beyond that would be ridicculous, as, let's face it, they've already been interrupted during their journey to Fishman Island about half a billion times. So far, we've got:
1: Ice Hunter-arc (Filler)
2: Thriller Bark
3: Spa Island (Filler)
4: Duval and the Flying Fish Riders
5: Sabaody
6: Amazon Lily
7: Impel Down
8: (This is a manga-spoiler)! The war at Marineford
Do we really need more detours? -

Part of me believes that the latest filler are all ideas Mr. Oda wanted to use in the manga but didn't have time so he left it tot he anime. They're just so in tune with the series hat it's astonishing.
-
Personally, though, I thought the Law and Kid fight was poorly directed. They look to be having nearly as much trouble with their Pacifista than the Straw Hats had with theirs. I did like the ending though. Things looked even more dire for them than it did in the manga.

I realize that, but this is somewhat different. It was a betrayal. Luffy even called Hancock out on this when he went ''She admired and looked up to you, but now you're trying to kill her! What the hell is wrong with you?!'' That was something that was established as long ago as the Kuro arc as lowest of the low acts one could commit. However here, it's all being swept under the table and discarded while we're instantly supposed to consider Hancock a good guy and forgive her of her past transgressions, no different from everyone forgiving her just because she's beautiful.
It's just one of the reasons I really don't like how this arc ended. It was obviously rushed and plot points were hastily swept under the rug so that Luffy could get to Impel Down ASAP.
-
I just think Amazon Lily has certian standards to punishment like actual tribes do in the real world. There wasn't any need to stretch it out with melodrama or angst.
-
Not really a bad episode but not that great either. They handled this arc pretty well considering, can't to see what they do with Impel Down! Also like how they did include Buggy on the back of Elder Nyon's newspaper.
-
I dunno, I guess my problem is that Hancock doesnt' really develop from all this, from what we've seen. Sure, she's nice to Luffy and is shown to be slightly less emotionally guarded around her sisters and Nyon, but other than that, she still treats people like dirt and uses her beauty to dodge responsibility. Maybe Japan might just have a different set of values when it comes to stuff like this, I dunno.
-
We need Enel's moon adventure.

Yes, however you have yet to explain why that's a bad thing. So what if she's elegant, arrogant and with a superior complex. Those are part of her character traits. You gonna fault Crocodile and Do Flamingo now too for being douches?
-

Crocodile and Doflamingo are villains. We're actually supposed to sympathize with Hancock. Thus, portraying her as such a cruel character is probably a pretty bad idea.

The problem is that the anime added that extra snake in the grass bitch move betrayal that she pulled, in the manga it's more understandable how Marguerite didn't fault Hancock for petrifying her because that betrayal wasn't present, it was just the girls getting punished for breaking the law, a strict law but still the law. Remember Kuro was using his nakama then he was willing to discard them that's totally different from Hancock punishing Marguerite and Co. for breaking a law that they were full aware of.
Also it's too early to see any Hancock character development because the story hasn't really allowed for it, too many other events taking precedence over that.

Meh, people sympathize with Buggy and he's a scallywag.
-
Im my opinion it would make sense to show what the other strawhats are doing, but i think they can only fit it in after they reapeard. It would spoil there new power/move before so we will have a reunion and after that we see what they learned or something like that. Just my opinion
-
All these bad traits are comedic exaggerations. I find it quite amusing too, which is why I like her character.
