of course it's very likely to have both the meanings at once, that's Oda for you (the flower and the jolly roger, which both comes from the rouge/red color), no one was really denying it. And note that there's no rules about the amazon lily empresses having flower themed names, we are just trying to catch/see a hint from Oda, that's it: for example ace's mother could also have a name like portgas d tulip and not have anything to do with amazon lily.

This is probably the first arc where I have no idea who Luffy is going to fight. There's so many antagonists gathered here in one place. An Admiral? Rematch with Moria perhaps? Kuma? Any guesses?
A friend of mine told me this. Not sure if it has been posted. I guess with this info, we can assume why Shanks was visiting the Island that Luffy lives. He was probably going to see Roger's son.

Ok i haven't made a post in a while but i feel i have to say something after reading that chapter. Here is a list of a few things i think will happen.
1.Luffy makes a big entrance that shocks everyone, cuz thats luffy. whitebread appears as well
2. Whitebeard and luffy motley sqaud minus croc and his crew team up in the conflict at maniford
3.Whitebeard dies in the insuing conflict by the hands of blackbeards secret weapon inside of impel down making blackbread the most feared pirate
4.Ace gets saved by Luffy, with no were to go he joins luffy on his quest to become priate king cuz thats wht brothers do they help each other.
5. the straw hats reappper all buffed up with amazing new powers and help luffy in this conflict (they themselves follow the vivre cards to luffy's location)
6. SH gather rosy life riders plus the dark king bring the TS to maniford SH escape
7.SH head to fishmen island with there coated ship, with jinbei as their escort fishman arc begins.
This whole saga should be called the giant detour to fishmen island.

Nyon is not Aces mother trust in oda shes dead like how bellemere is dead.
Awesome chapter again. I liked details of the defense grid of Marineford, man, what a sight. The stuff about the many Marine scout ships not coming back was a cool thing to show WB is in fact coming. Word travels fast in OP, didn't think the whole world knew about the conflict about to happen, let alone have it broadcast to the world. I was shocked about Ace being Roger's son, wow, crazy stuff, Luffy will still treat him as his brother though. Ace's mom being pregnant 20 months is one of the weirdest things i've read in OP. Still has good momentum, can't wait to see what's next.

Um… the cards were from Rayleigh. Ergo, they'd point to Rayleigh's location a.k.a. Shabondy Archipelago. From there, I think they'll see Luffy fighting on the monitors and sail on the newly-coated Thousand Sunny with the Rosy Life Riders to Marineford, where they rescue Luffy and sail to Fishman Island.
Honestly, I would think that it would make sense for Rayleigh and Duval's crew to high-tail the Sunny and themselves away from Sabaody after what had happened. His cover had been blown, and he'd just gone toe-to-toe with an Admiral. Whitebeard war or not, I think it would be prudent to move to a safer location after all that.

If Ace pulled an Enel face, then I'd feel that I was trolled. But he didn't. The reveal was very dramatic IMO. I didn't see a single hint of trolling from Oda.
I don't know whether to like this twist or not. On one hand it's the biggest twist since Dragon being Luffy's father, but what significance will it have to the story. Ace is already a very very wanted man, set to die… him being Gold Roger's son doesn't change a lot for him.
Now there's less of a chance that Dragon will come. So who will assist the Whitebeard Pirates because I can't see them winning as things go (I actually thought that a Marine Admiral was almost equal in power to Whitebeard). But I'm confident Ace will survive... I can't see Luffy letting anything else happen.
I've also been confused by Garp. He seems to be connected closely and positively to some really wanted people (Dragon and Roger) yet he's committed to the WG and just sits there and lets Ace be captured. Dunno if he's planning something or knows about something that is going to happen (maybe he has called Dragon who will appear after all)... but now we know that Garp took care of Ace for Roger, who's wish was for Ace to live happily (which lessens the possibility of him dying).

Roger asked Garp to take care of the child to be born… Dragon being Garp son maybe already knew Iva-san and may have helped... Maybe he wasn't yet a revolutionary but such events may have pushed him to fight the WG using another way than just being pirate.
Also, remember how Iva reacted when Luffy said he was Ace bro ? "Then he is Dragon's son too, I have to help him" -> Did Dragon consider Ace as his son after all ?
To $abZ: if Dragon considers Ace as his son, because he helped Roger and became revolutionnary because of the WG actions, he has even more reasons to show. Maybe more than he would to save Luffy.
