im also waiting for 232 from gerusama ,can't wait for it !! >< '' ..waiting for 232~236
-
we all are waiting….but he says he will be faster, and i trust that he will. i dont think we will have to wait like that again.
-
Yay, thank you so much Gerusama. ^_^ How did finals go?
-
Yeah go Gerusama!!! I've been waiting patiently for so long not downloading the raws. Hmmmm, so gmt+1 time makes midnite in three hours I think. Gah, I've waited so long and now I can't wait! I hope your finals went well. ::breaks out whip:: Now get your ass back in front of the computer and give me more!!! :P Really though, take your time and keep up the good work, I know many people here including myself greatly appreciate it.
-
Sugoi! I'm almost to Whiskey Peak in my subs. I've got to catch up to you, Geru. It'll be a while before Kaizoku can fill the gap between them and you.
-
So it'll roughly be out in 5 hours time? Damn, got class today, I'll have to leech later. ;_;
-
Just so I can keep my time straight, is this the same midnight as KF fansubs or is it a couple hours difference?
-
Ya!!! EP 232 is finally coming out in 58 mins! I been waiting for this and hopefully with the no ep of One Piece next week Gerusama will get back up to date.
-
Yeah, that's a good question. I don't know what Timezone Gerusama is in. KF is EST, but I don't know about Geru…
-
It's (GMT+1) right. So it's about 3 hours from midnight.
… or am I mistaken?

Yes, you should do that. :) And then you'll find yourself in the manga forum waiting for each chapter to come out every week.
downloading
I watched 148 today too. And 236. ;_;
-
Nice stuff, cheers to Gerusama & his team.
btw.. love the font & styling for Pauly's 'Rope Action'. ;) :D

What the hell.. Every other episode works fine except this one, which is very laggy and choppy. I tried to play it in Media Player and it said I am missing a codec, apparently. Anyone know which it might be? I know it would't be DivX/XviD..

It's encoded with xvid 1.0.3 like all the other eps, but it might become laggy on older computers because it's encoded in 60 fps. If more ppl have this problem i'll encode a new version with less fps.
-
Well, I've only had the computer for two years, so it isn't a very old machine.

It was kind of jumpy for me too, but maybe it's because my computer is pushing three years. It also wasn't exactly a top of the line product when I got it.
One question I had in the episode was about Paulie's 'Bowline Knot' attack. It did sound like he said Bowline, but the knot was almost definatly a Boland. And considering the 'd' in boland is generally silent, the two words can be confused even in English. Also a 'Bowline Knot' doesn't really make any sense, although a boland is often used as a bowline's knot. But maybe this is just the sailor in me being picky, yeah, it probably is.

Yeah ボーライン is what I thought it sounded like he was saying, and I would think ボーラン would be more appropriate for a boland. Still looked like he threw out a boland to me though :P
-
I've just finished to watch it and i had no trouble doing it, even if my pc is three years old =)
Anyway, thank you for this episode, i cannot wait to see the others ^_^
Plus, the way you put the names of Paulie's attacks are GREAT!!! Like those of Aokiji, really an awesome work!!! ^_-
-
At first my friend and I were having troubles playing it (on MPlayer, Mac programs), but it played perfectly fine in VLC, so no problems in the end.
And I have to say I'm so thankful you don't encode these with that cursed "wmv3" codec, whichever it is that Saiyaman uses, since there's no way to play those on a Mac as of yet. I'm hoping someday there will be so I can use those RAWs for AMVs..
As always, thanks for all of your great work, gerusama.
-
I just watched it, and I had some minor issues when I played it in wimamp. It became a little choppy and pixelated in some places, but it didn't get in the way of my viewing enjoyment. Everything else is great. ^_^
BTW…did anyone notice the ANCIENT stock sound effects that were used in Pauly's rope action? I remember hearing those sound effects in old 60's Hanna-Barbara.
-
^o^ Thank you Gerusama! <3 Nice episode.
Actually, I'm dl the latest raws…. I have a song that just screams AMV... x3

Yeh, I noticed that. Heh, also when Pauly's pulling his ropes back into his sleeves after dropping Lucci. That sound effect, never fails to make my skin crawl. :P
-
I second Nurlocks statement regarding the wmv3's. My greatest OP fear right now is that KF or Gerusama starts using that format. But they obviously haven't yet, so I want to thank them for not using that format.

I think that's the same one I'm talking about. I get visions of Scooby Doo every time. XD

Ooh, which one?
-
I don't know if you've heard it before but it's Relient K's 'Which to bury, us or the Hatchet?'. Every time I hear it I think Luffy v Usopp.
Although, I suppose I need to learn how to make AMV's first though.
-
Nope, I haven't heard that song, but now I want to, whether I like it or not.
I keep wanting to make AMVs too, but nor do I know how. Most results I've seen with WMM have been pretty shoddy looking. I'd like to know what programs were used in the really good ones I've seen. :)
BTW, you have you watched 235+236 at all yet?
-

I think that's the same one I'm talking about. I get visions of Scooby Doo every time. XDOh, I thought you were talking about that sound effect just before Pauly smashes the Frankies' heads together. (3:39sec) I hear that kind of SE on Boomerang all the time. :P
-
I guess I'll have to go back and listen again to see which one is which.
-
I never really thought about the rope thing when reading the manga, but after seeing this episode, I agree the sound effect is kind of funny. Now I want to see the contraption Paulie uses to make the ropes do that. Maybe he just took apart a few vaccum cleaners or something

Nope, I haven't heard that song, but now I want to, whether I like it or not. It's a pretty good song. Actually, on the cd (titled Mmhmm), there are 4 songs in a row that fit W7 so perfectly it's creepy. o__o

Yeah, I've been wondering about that too. I suppose I'll have to go stalk someone until they give up their AMV secrets. Muwaha. x3
BTW, you have you watched 235+236 at all yet?
Nope, still waiting for the subs. :3 I don't know if I'll even watch the raws after I download them. I can wait~ I'm a good wait-er….
-
Ah, I gave in and watched them. I discovered that because I've read the manga of those chapters so many times, I knew the script pretty well, and so I knew what they were saying in most cases.
-
Ah well, I can't blame you~ :D It IS Luffy vs Usopp after all. And anyway, the biggest reason I'm holding out is because I don't want to have two of the same episode when one'll do. (but I've changed my mind on that obviously :))
-
OK, for the record, the sound effects I was talking about was the one at 3:39, and also a different, but somewhat similar one at 3:48. ;) If you were talking about the sound from about 10:09, I don't recognize that one.
-
Oh, so you were talking about the one at (3:39) :P
"If you were talking about the sound from about 10:09, I don't recognize that one."
Oh, no. I was just saying before, how that sound effect made my skin crawl. Not that it was from an old cartoon or anything. ;)
-
Oh, so you were talking about the one at (3:39)
Actually, when I was typing, I was thinking of the one at 3:48. But when I went back and watched the episode I recognized the 3:39 one too. ;)
Oh, no. I was just saying before, how that sound effect made my skin crawl. Not that it was from an old cartoon or anything.
Oh. Well, it COULD be from an old cartoon, who knows. :)
-
Ack, choppiness, computer not super enough for 60fps… must.. download.. alternative.
-

Updating your codec might solve the problem. Our eps are encoded with XviD-1.0.3-20122004. Also… if you have a non gpu/accelerated video card (and slow cpu on top of it), it might be a problem running it. 30 fps version will be up at irc soon for those who can't make it to work properly even with updated codec.
-
Ah so that's what it is.. I noticed something was "odd" when I watched it. So I rewatched it now and indeed it wasn't as fluid and had hints of choppiness. Btw why did you change to 60 fps? 30 fps like your previous releases was just fine..
-
for all the people who can't get the 60 FPS verison of the episode working, try closing down everything exept for the player. A good way to do this is by pressing alt+ctrl+dlt and then go to processes(you have to be using XP) and get rid of some stuff. also make sure you know what you're doing or you could crash your computer.
-
It seems a bit strange to have a show that's animated at 24 fps encoded to 60 fps.
