Enel (I'm used to this spelling XP) has always been a favorite villian of mine because of his power, composure, and for the simple fact that he literally went up against all the Strawhats minus Chopper. Hawkins is cool and everything, but he's not my favorite Supernova, so I gotta give the vote to God! XDD

Enel restarting his own heart is one of the greatest moments in one piece. Hawkins has just sat around playing with his tarot cards and allowing other people to take any damage meted out to him. Rather an easy choice.

If you don't mind me asking, what native speakers are you talking about? And someone should really ask Oda in an SBS. I'm sure everyone will start using the spelling Oda uses. I think I remember someone saying enel in Hebrew means "no God", but I don't really belive this.

That's a pretty elaborate explanation for something as simple as a character's name. It's such a reach. There are such things as coincidences, y'know.

I guess it could just be a coincidence but you know Oda's love of putting foreign words in One Piece. I'll say it again: someone needs to ask Oda to spell it in an SBS. But I'M gonna use Enel until Oda answers himself. There are some reasons for it to be Ener such as the beggining of the word energy, but I think the evidence I posted is more keeping with Oda's style.

Greg and pretty much everyone else have said, they believe it to be Ener, so at that point I take their word for it instead of 6 degressing backwards from Enel. Like I said, you can find plenty of evidence for the name Ruffy or Flanky if you look hard enough. It doesn't mean it's the correct romanization. /my 2 cents.Also, it's a children's comic from Japan.
