I know this is reeeaaally random, but does not the Zoro pose on the last page strike every fangirl's heart? >.<; lol

ok…so if Bon Oodori is something to do with dancing in some festival and in T-Bone's attack name has some 'big bird' in it, could we summarize his attack to 'BONE FEATHER DANCE ATTACK'? feather sounds better than some BIG BIRD...hahahah
no you can't just summarize his attack like that. all you can say is that phonetically it sounds like bon odori.

Just read it.
Zoro > God

I think it's probably meant to SUGGEST the festival now that we know/were reminded of it (I personally didn't know about it… though knowing me I learned and forgot  ) but your interpretation doesn't... quite work
踊り - odori (dance). The kanji used for the attack is 大鳥 and the given reading was oodori (which, I'm sorry to say, literally DOES mean big bird... ). There's nothing about feathers or attack in there, tho' I'd definitely note the reference to Bon Odori if I were translating it (which I don't 'cause I suck XD).
So yeah. If you wanna be artful with it, I dunno, but typically you have to work with what you're given. Big Bird does sound a little lame 'cause of the American context though, but I really wouldn't change it. Maybe LARGE AVIAN DANCE if we're all too picky ? ;p
-
yeah… it's all in context. large is ok even great or grand. it can be fowl instead of bird too...
ooshi78
-
HAAHHA…ok, thanks to you guys for the clear up...that attack literally needs a new name...big bird reminds me of sesame street...hahaha, LOVED THAT SHOW...

Hmmm Oda is mixing Sesame Street with Popeye in this arc

What if the Staw Hats arrive at Eneas Lobby, but they somehow get beaten by CP9 members and some DF powered Marine. They'll end up imprisoned in Eneas Lobby and then they'll have to find a way to escape. It'll be like the "Great Escape" OP style. Watch out Oz…
-
Couln'd the Bon Odori just be called "Great Bird"? Couldn't the "Big" kanji also mean that? Or am I thinking of something else?
-
Yes, it can. I don't see the problem with "big," though. Pretty cute.

I think it'd be lame for Luffy to talk about beating Lucci's ass for a these chapters, only to get caged, or take a cheap victory.
-
Well, yeah, it can. I think Big Bird is just the one that's most obvious out of all the interpretations, though I still like my LARGE AVIAN DANCE

Well to be fair, how long did Luffy talk about kicking Crocodile's arse? Yet, he still managed to get himself imprisoned. Luffy's a simpleton, he can be tricked very easily.
If he can get locked up in just one cell, then I don't like his chances if he's running around the most infamous prison on the Grandline. ;)
-
I know there's a possibility of him getting temporarily incapacitated. I'm saying that instead of escaping, he's gonna kick Lucci's ass. He's easy to trick, but he doesn't fool himself.
-
Zoro could kill luffy easily now… look at those moves...
anyway I hope T-BOne gets a Mini story or something... He was practically a Cameo..
-
Wow!! It's a CREAT chapter!! And Hina is back in action!! XD
Love Zoro's moves!!

You know, I was looking at the scene where Zoro cuts the train cars in half and just to see how far Zoro has advanced, I decided to compare it to a similar scene way back during the Baratie storyline when Mihawk slices Krieg's galleon in half.
Man, I'd forgotten just how damn big that ship was; at a guess, it's at least four times as tall as these cars and probably about half again as wide as the two cars are long. That's a bit conservative though, as there appeared to be about six decks in the ship and the above shot was at the front of the ship rather than the widest section where Mihawk cut through it.
I knew Mihawk was strong, but I never really thought about just how ridiculously strong he was. Even now, Zoro still has a long way to go.
-
Who says cutting these trains is all he can do? Mihawk could cut them just as well, but doing so wouldn't make him weaker or something… For all we know, Zoro might be able to cut up a ship the size of Krieg's one with ease, by now.
And hey, T-Bone was renowned as the ''ship cutter'', and he seemed to have cut a gigantic sea monster in half with ease. Yet Zoro defeated him with a single strike.
I'm not saying Zoro's close to catching up to Mihawk or anything, but these trains are certainly not an accurate way of determining his strength level.

**_Wow, I was actually thinking both of these. While it's true that that's not all Zoro can do, it looks like he gave it a try. Mihawk didn't even seem to think about it. And while Zoro beat T in one strike, it didn't look easy. It seems like if he was any lesser, he would've been the one hurt. He was also pretty winded.
-
Nice Zoro! :D Now go save Robin!
-
Me and Solid had a little talk about what could happen in Eneas Loby some days ago. What if the battle of Luffy and Luchi would result in that the entire Eneas Loby would be destroyed? And if Zoro would wander of (he is the only one who would) and find himself in Impel Down? And then "kill" all the guards (the strongest ones is probably in Eneas Loby to prevent the attack) and somehow release all the prisoners there. Then, Zoro and Luffy together would make it look like the Strawhats had been wating to do this to the Gouverment, realising a hell load of strong criminals, destroyings Eneas Loby and crush one of the most vital organisations of the Gouverment (the CPs). Damn, then their bountys would go sky high in just a few days I would say.

Yeah.. :D Robin, we can discuss further in "Water 7/Enenas LObby villains" thread.

Then, invading the marine HQ is surely something far greater than that, so it should be even more impossible. Also u say their bounties would go sky-high.. rather, the whole bounty-thing would become moot should they overthrow the marines.
That's why I never expected them to actually reach eneas lobby.. or at the most fight CP9 on the outskirts (like the shore) without actually going in…
-
Going to the lobby doesn't mean they'll take on the bigwigs.
-
I don't think that Eneas Lobby would nessacarily be completely destroyed. It won't surprise me if they had to go into it to since the train was 20 minutes away at the end of 371 I think, but I don't think the Straw Hats would try to free people in there, who may include the Arlong Pirates and (probably) Crocodile and Baroque works.
-
I'd actually expect a "screw you bums, I made it and you didn't" kind of thing.
-
What I want to see is a reunion between Coby and Luffy at Eneas Lobby. Will they end up having to fight each other? Or will Zoro knock him out so they don't have to fight?
But I do think that we will see the inside of Impel Down. Can't wait to see what if we see any old enemies from arcs past. (I don't think Arlong would be there, it would be better to hold him in a prision far away from the ocean.)
-
I don't think Coby is quite ready to fight Luffy. If that happens, it will be a lot futher down the line.
-

Coby v. Luffy: see: Soccer King.
-
Heh, I like the idea of an Impel Down riot. It could create a nice little diversion for the Strawhats to get back to Water 7 & get out of the area without too much hassle. I mean, the Govt. the Marines, they'd have their hands totally tied dealing with a jail break of that magnitude, could be a nice way to slip out the back door, whilst screwing over the WG big freakin' time. B)
-
i still think it'd be beest if they didn't arrive at Eneas Lobby.
anywaqy. any spoilers in sight?
-
jackvance, did you even read my post? I did not say The Strawhats will stand up to either Buster Call or the Headquarter, and if you guys have not noticed - Eneas Loby is NOT Marine Headquarters, from Eneas Loby you can get to either HQ or Impel Down. So far we haven't even heard that some superbig guys will be att Eneas Loby, so what the hell are you messing about?! A fight between Luffy and Luchi will be much chaotic then the fight between Alrong och Luffy, so why couldn't they detroy Eneas Loby?
A riot to Impel Down (not planned, Zoro maybe just come in there by a misstake, we do not know how far it is between EL and ID, so…) could save the Strawhats in fact. And if Buster Call is starting, then how the hell would the Strawhats escape though there is no pirate ever to escape, it if not to release all the prisoners in ID, then, they would have a chance. And just as always, the Strawhats could make them look more dangeorus then they in fact maybe are to the Marine and Gouverment. I did NOT say the Strawhats can beat the crap out of somebody super high, and if this (ID riot and so on) happens, it wouldn't be a big suprise if we look to what have happened in other places.
-
So…. ocean/ooshi/2ch spies, any word on midweek chapter spoilerz?
-
Yeah, where is the spoilers?
-
mr 394 retired so everything out there is "unreliable" right now. i can post one, but there's no garantee that it's the right one.
ooshi78
-
We just have to wait for Mr. 180. Other series has back up spoiler tellers, but not One Piece :/ Death Note had full script spoiled already :\
-
Argh! Mr. 394 retired! Damn, did he say why? :o
I guess, it wouldn't hurt just to make a 372 Spoiler/Speculation thread. It could be sorta fun trying to figure out what's BS & what's not. :P
-
i posted that he retired on the last spoiler thread… there hasn't been any good looking spoiler...

yea i agree, we could look at some of the spoilers and try to figure out which one is most accurate and what not, good idea :).
-
the ones out there are all really fake looking…
ooshi78
edit: the last time i posted a "fake" spoiler the topic was closed. when i asked a mod about it, he said that fake spoilers aren't to be posted even if it intiates discussion.
-
On the old board there were some kickass fake spoilers, like the one where Kokoro used Shigan on CP9 and Yokozuna cradled an injured Luffy. Or so I hear…
-
oh i see. well, there goes that idea :(.
-
Wow, not even a spoiler for the impatient yet? I sense a disturbing presence in the Force.
-
I remember when they made a bunch of fake chapters that ocean kept posting, like Kokoro using tekkai against CP9.
And by "retire" i think they meant "went to sleep.."

**Yeah, and I got warned for that :/ Actually, there weren't any warning system back then, but my posts were erased and all other crap. I only did that twice though (it was first two chapters), and I believed they were true spoilers :P So did the Admin :P

Nah, that means he's retiring from giving us spoilers. I remember one of the good scanners retired couple months ago since he was moving to elsewhere. :/
