mr. don reminds me of arlong a lot
seriously
he has arlong's eyes, lips, teeth and he has something that looks like arlong's jolly roger tattooed on his eye (if you look at it from far away)
also he's a jackass

Cept Arlong was a great villain.
This guys just your ordinary "GRAHHH IM REALLY STRONG,RICH, AND OLD LOOKING. LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL"
Jesus christ i wish the guys in this manga could be a little less homoerotic about black people.
Other than that, Yamato is still dull but Hiruma putting the pressure on Clifford made it all worthwhile.
i wonder when the final match is gonna start? 2 or 3 more chapters?

Well they said that the match was tomorrow in manga time. Since it was night at the end of the last chapter, I expect the match to start in the next one.

lol I think it's hilarious how this manga bows down to black people's "natural" athletic abilites. Haha i think it's pretty flattering actually
edit: Oh and that cameo on page 17…I know he's from some gambling manga, kaiji I believe? lol i instantly recognized him and started laughing to myself
I'm starting to get pissed about the constant fetishizing of 'black man's natural athletic abilities'.
Aside from more stereotypes, the chapter wasn't too bad. A bit more easy than usual than it has been…and essentially Usui is "mystery man" like most of us figured. (though it was weird it was Mizumachi of all people who saw him)
And a tiny bit of himura background. Wasn't that a variant of something he told kurita in the flashbacks?
Oh and Gaoh wants to learn delta dynamite? I can't recall him using anything, but brute force before.
Edit. Here we are in the middle part of the flashback he said his father was weak Shogi player who only collected losses and claimed he tried his best. Guess it was true.
For all that they keep repeating over and over and over again about the "black man's natural athletic supremacy", I'm really glad that they made Panther such a nice guy. If he had been a jerk like Mr. Don then the awkward racial tension would just be flat-out racism.
I don't wanna believe that it was Unsui. That was just Agon without his wig.
CHAMELEON MAN, GO!!
GAOU FLOORED BY THE DELTA!
GAOU WITH THE DELTA!
THIS MATCH SHALL BE EXPLOSIVE!!
I think it's just Inagaki wanting to mislead us into thinking it's Unsui as the mummy man.
Though the timing of Mummy man taking of his bandages and later showing Mizumachi seeing Unsui sure makes it believable.
However imo that kills the mystery of mummy man with just that scene.
I always imagined, that during the america match, mummy man will confront one of the pentagram. However during that play, someone is talking about determination and such and then reveals him to be Unsui, where the one confronting the pentagram is Rui. (his face and number wouldn't be shown until that revelation.

Maybe, but if it's indeed Unsui, i think it doesn't matter either.
I think Unsui will help Hiruma to use The Golden Dragon Fly in the finals. You know, the formation that use 3 qbs. Well, afterall that formation is created in Japan. And so far, only Shinryuji Naga that use it in the manga, and we know that Hiruma tend to use his enemies techniques.
Maybe the Mummy Man is many men?
Just an idea
if they do use the golden dragon fly, i hope they'll mix it in with using sena and yamato run plays. 3 QBs along with 2 RB, mixed with some good blockers like shin, agon, etc would be cool
Bring the A-11 back, Inagaki!!
If you don't know what A-11 is, wiki it.
Interesting chapter this week: a bit weird though that Yamabushi got the "final speech" before the game…but it was funny that Bamba took over. And Kurita...dang, taken down so easily by the Don.
! Kurita is KO'ed by Don in order to save Hiruma. Don sure is awesome.
! Can't wait for next week! Gaou will try to 'kill' Don!
Ye gods they are so tall and geneticly superior to us, what ever will we do!
Bamba: "After the pillow fight last night…"
facevault What kind of person starts their inspirational speech before a big game like that?
GREAT MOMENT IN PRE-GAME MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES!!!
Don is retardedly lame as usual and I won't say anything about the waste of panels that was the recap of football rules but other than that, a nice chapter for once. Honestly though, I think this game is gonna suck ass.

GREAT MOMENT IN PRE-GAME MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES!!!
I would. Though I would have gone with a more braveheartish approach. Something like:
"They can take our lives, but they can never take our freedom to have pillow fights!"
And I like the idea of using a super focused shotgun formation.
Holy Fuck Kurita That Was Awesome
So Don does atleast slightly recognize the threat Hiruma poses, Awesome.
And what can i say, classic Kurita. Just wish he gets back on his feet and gets to be the one who stops Don at some point. I cant even begin to describe how sick i am of Gaoh getting all the spotlight.
Hey, I just noticed that Kurita doesn't have scars on his face anymore. When did that happen?!
Hey, I just noticed that Kurita doesn't have scars on his face anymore. When did that happen?!
The scars already gone since the world cup started.
So turns out Monta outmaneuvers Bud in their first play and afterwards Bud then aknowledges that Monta is the player in japan who is closest to the pentagrams level. With the standard threat baked into the compliment.
And Yamato and Gaoh go at Mr.Don, who of course thinks it sad.
! I see, monta is awesome ..
! but probably it's because Bud still hasn't playing seriously yet.
Wonder what Tatankas secret power is, If its just being tall then ill scream.
Guess he's gonna be Habashira arms and Kakeis reach/height baked into one with the speed of Shin. Doesnt look all that muscular tho.
i think the only reason monta easily pulled off that catch was because Bud was focused on Tetsuma.. But that was kind of messed up for Monta to steal a ball that was meant for tetsuma
and it looks like i was right, doesn't seem like Panther's playing on defense. Which means it'll probably be an in-direct battle against Sena, meaning seeing who can run the fastest and gain more yards
The chapter probably could have been better (we get it, Monta's good, why not let someone else take focus aside from him, Sena, Yamato and Gaoh for a change?), but it was decent regardless.

Wasnt that the whole ploy? As i read it the ball was never supposed to go to Tetsuma in the first place. Hiruma screaming out the receivers name and the way Bud noted that such a simple pass was useless would certainly indicate that.
I really wanna see some Shin action, Hopefuly he'll tear Panther to shreds^^
Interesting how they threw ole America "the great enemy" a bone here.
"As long as the play is great, it will be acknowledged. That's the way of America, the country of merit!" Great line.
But yeah, where's that damn Delta Dynamite, Gaoh?

Who else would you rather have had been closest to the pentagram? Fucking Taka?
Too bad Gaou still hasn't use the delta dynamite. lol.
And apparently Yamato also still has a score to settle with Don, i just hope it won't turn out like Yamato & Gaou vs Don, that would be lame ..
So I thought Monta was pretty badass in this latest chapter. Tatanka isn't incredibly lame as was thought to be. I am a bit curious how Kid is supposed to beat Tatanka though, does he just throw even faster than his ridiculously fast throw?
So he's a really tall douche, well thats just great. Still i finaly got to know why he got his nickname.
Pretty damn good chap really, there is no Don in sight, some Hiruma whackyness, Monta grandstanding, and Kid schooling all those who doubt him. Heck even Morgans growing on me.
This was a fun chapter, I have to say. The bit with Monta and the movie star seemed a tad cliche but I liked Tatanka's ability and how Kid and Sakuraba actually seemed to matter for a moment. Panther though stole the chapter when he made a scrunched face like "is it my turn yet?" (luckily next week finally is a Sena/Panther showdown)
Wonder what Tatankas secret power is, If its just being tall then ill scream.
Go ahead… or i might.
Other than another "OHMYGOD REALLY TALL GUY!" power this chapter wasn't that bad. This arc is on it's way to picking up.
Just a random thought though, I just re-read the Tekikou game and....why did Yamato declare Sena the better back again? In fact, why does anyone? For the exception of a few games, Sena's opposition spends the entire game sending his scrawny ass to the turf until he breaks ONE good run on them.
Yamato's example was even worse. He spent the entire game bulldozing the entire team and shutting Sena down (except for two runs and the guy isn't really a linebacker anyway) and he declares Sena the better man at the end? It's pretty funny the "GREATEST RUNNING BACK" probably averages around 3 yards a carry per game.
I believe it's because once he finds out how he can beat them the opponent can no longer stop him. I do agree that it's kind of silly though. Yamato and everyone else in the series (except Panther now) wouldn't be able to touch Sena after 4th + Ghost. I don't think Panther really has a way to stop that other than chasing after him right after.
This chapter is suprisingly good! Its compromised of almost entirely great stuff, Who knew Senas knew that many techniques. And it suprised me that Panther as a player at the world level doesnt seem to know jackshit. Not that he needs to with his invincible black muscles sigh
Seeing how great this chapter is and that the eyeshield magic is far from gone it really pisses me off knowing that they were rushed thru what could have been a great arc.
Yeah, this was a great chapter. Sena was awesome, stupid black muscles are stupid.

I think that he knows the techniques, but he just didn't expect so much from sena. After all he got past yamato without him noticing. Takes more then physical ability to do that. He saw the 4-D, he saw feint, and he saw the spin. And he was ready to stop him. He just didn't expect sena to play the rough game.
The chapter was pretty good (two-week winning streak) and we've seen how Panther still has a slight upperhand with Sena, even though he's gotten way better than the NASA game. (then again both have)
yamato should've wrapped panther in a 360 caesar's charge and slam him onto the ground rather than simply pushing him aside..
Remember he just reached Panther at that time, so he did what he could coming off the block as one of Sena's shields
actually i think what he did took more effort. He could've just run tackled panther the moment he got there instead of trying to maneuver in between the two and push him away.
Wonder what special play Clifford has up his sleeve is gonna be, The whole Hiruma can never pull it off thing made me think it involves him running since his speed is second only to Panther among the pentagram.
And cant wait for defense, Agon and Shin are gonna demolish Panther:happy:
