Hmm, I wasn't much of a fan of Daz Bones, what could he bring to the ship? But an addition of Crocodile and Mr 2 would be quite fun, I'm sure Oda could pull it off if he wanted too. Plus, we'd finally have a logia on board, though I always hoped that would be Smoker, eventually becoming disillusioned with the WG and turning rogue, in Drake's footsteps. Which brings me to my next point, Drake should join the Sh's. Yes, it is a radical step, and very unlikely, but I would love ot see his T-rex zoan being used in humourous occasions with the other Sh's, plus his being a former insider could finally bring what the SH's nee dmost. knowledge about the world, they can't always rely on Robin having heard of something, and why isn't Nami readin the news regularly anymore?

So, in conclusion, Smoker, Drake, Crocodile and Mr 2 will join the Sh's after this war, and there's no way about it. Oda promised me. Plus, Marg will fall form the sky for no reason, and join too, since they need more girls onboard.

Not true. Margaret has shown exceptional skill as a seamstress. Hancock hasn't been given the chance to show much in the area of "trade skills", but both would appear to have an arsenal of abilities that are unique if you consider their potential Haki + Snake combo's. Considering Hancock is a Pirate Empress, a Shichibukai, and a Princess she must have some other skills. At the very least she would have some sort of value akin to Robin's value to the crew. Admit it, Robin being an Archaeologist was only useful to the crew because Oda wrote her usefulness into the story. In any other pirate story she would be useless. The same could be said for both Margaret and Hancock.

That's dodging the point. Robin is only useful because of the world of One Piece. Well, no that is not accurate. Robin is only superior because of the world of One Piece. The point is that Hancock, or Margaret for that matter, still have more than enough potential to be written with the same usefulness without bending story or character.

Edit: Oh, and last I checked Robin was introduced in Chapter 114, whereas Poneglyph's were introduced in Chapter ~~224~~ 193.

I would not say that Hancock would be like a Secretary on the ship. She would be more like a co-second in command. Zoro is the second in command but he normally is in the position most of the time of being part of the fighting force. He would be the physical protection like he always has been but Hancock would be more like the mental protection in a manner of speaking.

Nami may keep things together but if the oceans and the navigation of the New World gets to be much more dangerous she will need to concentrate on navigation for the ship and work closer to Franky to protect the ship. Hancock could keep everyone going on their other tasks.

Robin would be a great officer on any ship even in the real world. She is an archeologist and linguist. Ships have officers on board that handle keeping up with history their ships and of the world. She also knows language which many ships need to communicate with other cultures. Robin's knowledge of the language of the Blank History makes her useful to the world of One Piece.

The way that I see it the gaining of new crew members has represented the increase in the dangers that the crew have had to face. I mean before they hit the Grand Line while they had injuries before they did not really need to have a doctor until they got to Little Garden and Nami got sick and after that they had Chopper.

My belief is that in order for a crew to do what Luffy and the others are planning which is to get the One Piece and have their dreams come true they need to be as independent from the need for help from outsiders as they can. I can not say that Hancock would insure this but I can see how she might help to add more strength to the operation of the crew.

Now to who I think that needs to join the crew the most at this time I feel that is Perona because she would be the ultimate lookout. Every ship needs a strong lookout. If a ship does not have a good lookout terrible things can happen to the ship. The Titanic is an example of this being the case. The ship had lookouts but they did not have the equipment that was needed to know what was happening in the waters around them. So they hit the iceberg. It was not the only reason but one factor but I feel they need Perona.

However instead of Hancock the Straw Hats may need Camie more because of her knowledge of the sea and the fact that she can save some of the Devil Fruit users. I can also see where if it happens Ace could become part of the crew because he is like a massive missile. He did blow up the Barque Works ships. If there are pirate captains in the New World like Krieg who had many ships under his command then Ace would be needed for possible defense against them. He is also very good at working on his own and intelligence gathering.

So it all depends on what Oda sees as the most dangerous new element that the crew may face as to who might join. I mean even someone like Brook is important because if a crew can not go on leave the on board entertainment is a must.

I am just thinking about what may be awaiting the Straw Hats in the New World because I feel that it will be much more dangerous that the Grand Line has been.

Honestly, I feel that making statements gauging the Amazons' power like that is very premature and ultimately useless since Oda pretty much dropped them like a rock before we knew anything specific and non-vague about their power other than that they were strong enough to potentially cause a few headaches amongst the World Government.

I can agree with maybe Vivi, Camie, and Margaret but not Perona. She may be been beaten by Usopp but he only outwitted her. He did not physically beat her. She may see this defeat as a need to get stronger and she has eaten a Devil Fruit so that makes her stronger than Usopp in many ways. Perona is now with Zoro on an island that may make her stronger because she may need to protect herself and a slightly weakened Zoro if the island has something really bad on it. Now of course Zoro is more than likely be able to protect himself but Perona may end up having to do more of the protecting because Zoro has been hurt. So the way I see it Perona may get a power up in the future.

Hmmm seems like it but the thing is she's so minor she never came to mind lol. I mean she's only important cuz of Zoro(looking like Kuina).

Silk on the other hand had a base when it comes to character development that had a lot of potential. I mean if anything her story sounds more like Franky with her parents being pirates and leaving her on an island. With the added addition of those pirates attacking the village she got left in.

About her bossy nature could make it more cut throat or more polished, either or I dunno…..

This can be said to Lysop's situation also.
He was surely send by Kuma to that island,for the reason to improve,whatever improvement he might get.
Saying that Perona will get stronger,but Lysop not doesn't make sense at all.
Seriously,if the SH get a nember,it will either be Hancock,with the most chances atm. or Ace,which is unlikely if the current plot/arc development's would going on like this.

Not exactly like Pauly.
For me,Margaret was like Pauly,the joking,naiv little girl,which purposes was to introduce the island,and to get a glimpse of knowledge in Haki.
I never expected Boa,when she was first introducet,to get so much development on her character,and to play such a big role in the upcoming war.
Oda has done an awesome job on this part,it's a bit alike the situation with Franky.

Well whether it could ever happen or not i'd like Hatachan to join. I doubt it would happen but I think it would be cool if it ever did because he's a octopus fishman which is just awsome plus he's kinda funny.

The strawhats still have 2 more places to fill in there roster (unless luffy wants to give up on the 10 members thing because he has a musician) so if I had 2 pick another yeah perona why because her powers are cool and she's already with zoro so it would just make things quicker. Plus she's pretty powerfull

Though I've only seen one or two people mention it in the last few pages, does anyone really want Perona to join the crew? While I've always thought she's had an interesting character design and ability, Thriller Barque proved she has some major weaknesses of character. Her personality is all wrong for the Strawhats. She left Moria's crew when she thought her life was in danger, and in the latest chapter she actually has the nerve of wanting to go back despite trying to abandon them. She's not the type to put herself before her friends like the other SHs, and after all she's been through it's unlikely to change.

I don't care how unpredictable people think Oda is, if Perona is a candidate then it seems impractical to discuss anything else.

Usopp gets scared, runs, cries and panics, but when truly tested he's loyal to the crew. He's saved lives and risked his life to help people.

Perona got scared and fainted. Then when she saw her life was in danger she stole a ship, stuffed it with treasure, and sought to escape and abandon a crew she had lived with for multiple years. And in the latest chapter she's shown crying over her current situation, and pleading for Moria to take her back, well knowing that Odz's attack (as far as she knew) may have destroyed the ship.

If there's anything that all the SHs have in common, before and after joining the crew, is a strength of character. Perona's character is weak, and she's shown that if pushed she'll break, and betray her allies to save her own skin. We've already seen that this is within her character.

So this I think is the main reason she can't join the crew. She's…a bad person. Yeah.

And unlike Nami or Robin, she's shown no redeeming qualities. Just covering that before someone brings it up. To say that Perona is the same as Nami or Robin at any point of the story is another gross generalization.

So wouldn't that be a reason for why she won't join? I don't see Oda giving us a female Usopp. The crew doesn't need that in there next female nakama.

I never really considered Perona for nakama because I probably have unfair stipulations I'd apply in order for her to join like change her color scheme, change her laugh, and make her a more capable fighter(cuz getting bluffed in to defeat is either lame or their for comedic relief). As a nakama I'd say it's a given that her personality/attitude might change a bit but I like her the way she is.

LOL @ ppl saying she's too powerful. If anything she has more of a disadvantage than when a logia user's weakness is found out. She has the negative ghosts, ghost bombs and that's it she gets out of her body and all it is an illusion. You find her body and she might as well be dead.

To me her as is would be just as bad a nakama as Hancock.

IMO, the reason that Oda made Hancock's previous bounty as 80M was that it would be reasonable enough to be included, if her shichibukai status is revoked, among the SH's current bounties, and as such has the capability of increasing it further as she joins the crew("IF"). FYI, it's lower than that of Luffy's and Zoro's current bounty. With her lovesickness and all, i do believe that she would fight alongside luffy, therefore giving up her shichibukai status as well.

If things go according to the current state of things, isn't it that the shichibukai would lose two members during the fight?(Hancock and Jimbei). The balance would shift to the side with the greatest military force, Dragon's revolutionaries(if he shows up that is). We don't even know if dragon has subordinates with very high bounties. It's quite possible Dragon could have recruited powerful allies to help him. He's like the darkhorse or the ace up the sleeve in the war. Who know's which side Dragon would be taking up during the the thick of things.

BonBon seems to not have a crew anymore. In the shorts BonBon was alone. plus he in Impel down. His crew would be disbanded coz they have no captain.

Zoro's the vice captain. The only role i see of hancock in the crew is being a mistress to luffy. She, by the way, is the pirate empress. And what's a better partner for the empress than the pirate king himself!

I think the crew currently needs someone that can make the crew stronger as a unit, even if they're weak as an individual. So i'm gonna once again say a Helmsman and if that can't work then maybe a mechanic. I feel the crew right now seems a underpowered, but at the same time, don't feel they need another powerhouse, so someone that can strengthen em from behind the scenes, like a cog in the machine. In that regards Marguerite made sense, her style of fighting seemed to be that of a supporter, but she offered the crew nothing bar that. I think that may be what we need, someone who's role will force them to stick to staying on the ship/support. Of which a mermaid-helmsman see,s to be the most obvious choice.

I don't really understand what you mean here. It takes a full crew to manage and navigate a ship in a storm. If the water becomes more dangerous she would imo be working closer with the rest of the crew, not being alienated from them like you seem to suggest.

I don't see how Hancock can be any help at all really. The only reason her position as boss worked on the amazon's ship is because of her ledgend, her beuty and her power they accepted her as a leader and overlooked her flaws with a :wub: look on their faces.
I at least haven't seen her doing any administrating or handeling except kicking puppies and punishing ppl that upset her the slightest.

I can se Sanji and Brook accepting Hancock, possibly even Franky. But why would the other strawhats follow a lady with such an attitude? Sure Nami has a bad attitude at times too but hers is somehow more justified then Hancocks since she pulls her own weight. Hancock is just a pampered little princess with a tragic past in my eyes.

I'm sorry but I just don't see her working out in any position above the other crewmembers. THe SH crew is a democracy under the captain in my opinion.

I have my eye on Hancock. The way I see it, she's either going to get her hands messy with the government (captured, take them on while Luffy/SHs escape, try for reform...), or she's going to join.

As far as how she'll "fit in", I don't see it as too much of a problem, though she'll need to undergo a little bit of character reform, but it seems that's already happening.

As far as Perona or...any other of those suggested that I've seen...
The likelihood, to me, is slim enough to be negligible. Perona's return was unforseen, but I really don't think she'll join. The others have an even lower chance. Caimie and Margaret are already dismissed. Go collect pictures of these minor characters, make a shrine, but they aren't joining, sorry.

Also, this thread seems to be flooded with women… someone must be getting pretty obsessed…

Yes because the Veggie pirates had a great chance to be a greater force than a yonkou's crew.

As for Franky the exception there is he left his gang in order to keep them safe. Where as if Hancock left her island she'd put them in danger.

Sorry, I was unclear. I meant as an active player. I totally expected her to have an Enel-esque epilogue in the… picture pages before the chapter. My mind is drawing a blank.
