Sengoku says that they have six Shichi's on their side, so that means that Kuma didn't get in trouble!!!
Chapter 523 "Hell" Discussion
-
-
My prayers for a new seasonal island has been answered!
Sanji's island is the best.
-
Sengoku says that they have six Shichi's on their side, so that means that Kuma didn't get in trouble!!!
I don't know how he did it. Either lied to Kizaru or just disappeared before Kizaru could do anything. Kizaru probably wants to personally tell Sengoku or face Kuma to ask him what the hell he was doing.
Then again Sengoku could be oblivious to everything and just assuming Kuma is definitely on their side since he's always been loyal.
What's more interesting is that Moria is back in action, maybe. He could've just said yes cuz he's in no condition to be treated the way Jinbei is and doesn't want to fight again so soon.
-

I didn't even think about Moria! I think the marines are so desperate right now for power on their side that they wouldn't care if one of the shichi's walked up and spit in Sengoku's face.
EVERYBODY SCARED OF THE WHITEBEARD!

And also that Crocodile will be fighting.
Does this mean we could see the old Shichibukai again…?
I'd like to see how Croc's art has changed.
And as for Kuma and Kizaru, I doubt Sengoku was simply oblivious. He's in a time of peril, and wouldn't simply sit there and not care if Kuma told him he teleported the Mugiwara to safety. My best guess is that Kuma lied to Kizaru about where they were sent.
-
Didn´t Brook say that he was something along the lines of "a Knight of a certain Kingdom" before he became a Pirate when he joined? Has been some time since I red that chapter.
That was stroke me as somewhat too random to be just a useless fact. Brook´s pledge of loyality would have made just as much sense without this part.
So, maybe Brook´s wish was to know "What´s up with them?" or "I want to see my old friends again" and that´s were he´ll end.
While he´s there he can improve his fencing and most likely music as well. After all there he learned his swordsplay and I doubt there was a lack of music on that Island ;)
Althought that would nice, Isn't this island outside of the grand line? But yeah that'd be nice. Maybe the emphasis will be put one the other type of sword style. Since Zorro's is power I'm guessing his is technique.
No, its where Kuma wanted them to be sent!
Well, I really don't know about that after pondering about it for a while. If Kuma really did send them into different Islands for their own good, why would he send Luffy into the Island of a Shichibukai on purpose. Unless Kuma is omiscient and already knew about Hancock's past I don't think there was a good reason for him to be sent on an Ilse on the calm belt where the only means to leave is through her.
-
I mentioned it on Mangahelpers already, but it seems Luffy is in a much nicer position than I thought when I saw the smaller pictures in the spoiler thread. The guy is underneath the overcoat and not just underneath the cloak. He is literally clinging on to a half-naked Hancock in that picture as you can clearly see her bare back and the hem of her lower dress.
Man Hancock must be "real" comfortable with Luffy to allow him to hide there. I see many doujins spawning soon lol.

Corocodile isn't fighting…
six shichikukai
1. Hawk
2. Hancock
3. Moria
4. Flamingo
5. Kuma
6. BLACKBEARD -

Silly me.
But also, when Absalom and Hogback left TB with Moria, are we assuming that they sailed right to Marineford or Marijois?
-

I also see many parodies of that scene.
since yanno HE'S AGAINST HER NAKED BACK
I told you guys he'd be riding someone off that island.
-
WOW~ incredible chapter….
I guess Moria is okay... if he can show up for a fight against WB.
My theory is that Garp is going to free Ace. Luffy will help, but nobody kills Garp's grandson, shit he's one of the strongest men in the OP world, he'll just go tell MHQ to go fuck off.
I can see Luffy/Garp/Hancock being surrounded by the 6 Schichibukai... and in big trouble.. and then White Beard shows up!
Luffy is going to free Jinbei/Arlong/Crocodile/ and the other SuperNovas.. they're all going to fight together.. and leave together....
This is going to be totally awesome... Luffy has the potential to recruit some strong Nakamas here.. haha.. hoping Hancock and Ace will join the crew (if WB goes down of course)
I'm thinking Shanks is going to show up and take care of Mihawk... I think we're going a bit of foreshawdowing here with Sengoku receiving a message that other pirate crews are on the move.
Shanks v. Mihawk
Flamingo v. Jinbei
WB v. 3 Admirals
Marco v. Flamingo
Jaws v. VAs
Luffy v. Black Beard
Hancock takes out most of the fodder and starts battling a VA.Dragon will show up and end the fights with some spectacular moves.. either him or Ralyeigh.. don't see how Rayleigh can sit this one out... hahaha
Franky is going to show up with a giant robot that also transforms into a ship.. hahaha
Sanji is going to show up with an army of Transvestites who follow him like a king.. hahaha..Nami is going to be bring thunder and a hurricane like never before.. she's going to be with Hancock and take out thousands of fodder marines..
Robin probably was sent to some scholarly island.. and Chopper must have been sent to some kind of island with advanced medicine (just a guess)... Brooke was sent to?.. I have no idea.. hopfully him and Zoro were sent to some Samurai island and they're both training like hell.
Hancock for Nakama! (I envy luffy... he's on her ass like a pimp!)
-
@dirt:
Actually, isn't the place Brook wants to be the most is being with Laboon again? Except, the place he wants to be most in the world has a condition (of getting there by sailing the rest of the way around the world), so it probably doesn't apply.
Kuma could have ejected him back into West Blue so he could just enter the Grand Line again. That makes the most sense to me.
-
@Fire Fist:
Kuma could have ejected him back into West Blue so he could just enter the Grand Line again. That makes the most sense to me.
That still doesn't let Brook get there by sailing the rest of the way around the world.
-

But I doubt Kuma sent the crew to where they want to be the most.
-
Hmm, Jinbei and 500 captured pirates added to Impel Down. Might be the makings for a large scale prison break. I'm getting more and more excited as I think about it!
Nami getting blown away was kinda funny, so was Franky getting Super with the locals. Of course, what's not to love about the situation Sanji finds himself in? Kuma really had it in for that guy.

I think Brook is going to learn a morale boosting song, that is one of the many things musicians/entertainers do in comics and games. So far the only music he knows seem to have more offensive uses, like sleeping his enemies or knocking them unconscious.
As for Robin I think something a bit different than that (but in the same light) I think she will go somewhere, anywhere, that will teach her history regarding the upcoming events, and something that would aid the strawhats struggle coming up. Could be something on the Tenryubito and the Void century which could further ignite the eventual regress in power for World Nobles. (Its hinted that we will at least probably see the end of the slave and discrimination of Fishman and Merman atleast. Its after all this arcs hidden and more subtle theme thanks to Camie/Hachi/ And now Hancock both having pasts that relate back to it.)
Zoro will probably be somewhere that helps his technique and I bet he learns either Haki now or later. He needs a Devil Fruit cutting power or he won't even surpass Rayleigh much less the current master swordsman in Mihawk. (Maybe the ability to cut sea stone? They are going to Impel down after all).
Chopper is going to probably learn new ways to enhance devil fruits and thus consequently upgrade himself. I don't think he will learn how to just "go" Monster Point (Mainly because I think that is too obvious an upgrade). Probably something similar, but maybe control a different point form and have it more free than his Rumble Ball system.
Ussop is either going to be on an island full of scary things (Not sure what is scarier than the island Sanji got put on though lol) or a place where worldwide huntsman are at. Or he could be at a place where inventors are too to give him more incite on customizing his ranged arsenal.
Basically I think in the end they will be at places to make them more useful, but not just in fights, but to aid them for the new world.
And yes, I wasn't for her joining initially but now I can't see it going any other way. She will be the next Franky, someone that the whole One Piece fanbase will be indifferent of till she proves herself otherwise and than everyone will want her.
-
Wow I can't believe how fast Oda managed to make it up for last week's disappointing chapter !
That stuff about Jimbei going rogue seems legendary.
And this chapter confirms that One Piece World Government is the dumbest Power Organisation in the whole multiverse.
" TEH BATTLE CANS TAKING PLACES ON IMPEL DOWN ?! O RLY ?!!" -
Was sanji, like, born under some kind of miracle-star or something? (dixit usopp)
Maybe one of the most hilarious chapter of one piece, with the scene of the bubble trial, in the skyppia arc. All i can say is that sanji is very, very unlucky ^^ .
And i expect that usopp is in the island of cliff, where he will learn how not to land on the head :3, cause he already have a good sight and a powerful weapon. Just to be on a island to improve his shooting skills would be boring. So now he just has to find a way to escape quickly of high places without hurting himself, like he usually does.
Definitely, i want the over SHs be on island where all are not in order to make them evolve, like a lotery. This one is on a potentially interesting island, whereas this other one is in some ambiguous situation. That could be really interesting.
Furthermore, they all think of regaining the sunny, so i don't think they really have the time to improve significantly. Just like luffy, whom i think has not be on amazons island for more than 2 or 3 days.
-
Well lets think about this
Arlong and crew are in impel down
Crocodile Mr1 2 3 are in impel down
Jimbei the son of tiger is in impel down (i bet that its his son looks like him the shade and he goes against goverment)
Ace is in impel down
Garp too at least now
probably some supernovas are there too
i dont think kuma saved everyone -
I don't know how Hancock will be able to explain her sudden craving for meat to Momonga during the trip.
Ah right, she doesn't have to, she's beautiful. -
So did Kuma realize that the Strawhats will need to become stronger (in more ways than just the traditional sense) to become worthy adversaries?
Thus he sent them all to places where they can become improved versions of their current selves.I hope we learn a lot more about Vegapunk now that franky is on 'The future island where a genius was born'….
-
Is that a heart shaped island?
didn't Usopp lie about something like that?
-
Arlong and crew are in impel down
Was this ever stated in the manga?
Jimbei the son of tiger is in impel down (i bet that its his son looks like him the shade and he goes against goverment)
Given that one is most likely a whale shark fishman and the other is either a tiger shark or fish fishman and all we have are silhouettes I doubt it and lets not jump to conclusions anyway.
probably some supernovas are there too
Maybe, it weird though given that Kizaru basically went on a rampage capturing 500 pirates I gotta guess he was doing this on his way back as well. Since when did SA have that many pirates there? the other 11 SNs couldn't have that many ppl in their crew. It would be a nice way of bring their part in the story full circle though.
Maybe Law and Kidd are with Kuma or maybe Kuma told them to do something specific.
So did Kuma realize that the Strawhats will need to become stronger (in more ways than just the traditional sense) to become worthy adversaries?
Thus he sent them all to places where they can become improved versions of their current selvesDoubt it since Luffy didn't get stronger at AL. It could be Kuma didn't have any time to send them to specific places. I mean if he sent them to places where he would know they would get stronger he'd have to know them pretty well. Unless he just did a first impression judgment from meeting them at TB. I just think he made sure to send them to an island and not in to the ocean.
We may never know though, I don't see Oda making Kuma say "I sent you guys there for ______" Oda may explain this in an SBS just by saying it was by chance or something comical.
-
My point is this Luffy's words and reasoning as to why he wouldn't go and save Ace where to me too strong for him to go back on them later. His reasoning for going to save Ace seems to me to either completely invalidate his words or use a loophole in them to make sense. I expected Luffy to rush to Ace's aid and him not doing this portrayed him as not being your standard shounen lead and him not filling the criteria for good guy as smoothly as we might like. I liked this about him and now it's invalidated all the assumptions I made about Luffy's character from that are meaningless and Luffy has become more ordinary because of it. I'm looking forward to the epic but Luffy has lost some depth because of his decision.
Look, what part of FAMILY, EXECUTION and DEATH don't you understand?
Yes, Luffy did say he won't rush to Ace side. That is because HE DOES NOT KNOW ACE IS IN DEEPER SHIT THAN HE THOUGHT.
When Luffy found out Ace life is in danger, he just thought Ace WILL PREVAIL, however he doesn't know that ACE GOT CAUGHT BY THE MARINE/WORLD GOVERNMENT.
BUT CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGES.
1. Ace is up for EXECUTION.
2. Luffy knows Ace might die this time.
3. No matter how much Luffy wants to protect Ace's pride or whatever, it wouldn't have any points left if ACE IS DEATH.Maybe some of you should act as Luffy and ask your love ones to act as Ace and put through what Luffy and Ace are going through, then only come and say this is a gross inconsistency on Luffy's part.
Death might protect pride, but it's meaningless when you can't see anymore of your love ones.
See the choice that Luffy has to pick? Would you do that same if your wife/parents/siblings/someone you love needs rescuing or you are going to stick to your pride and their pride and let them die?
If I were Luffy, and I know my brother is going to die, I would care less about pride and whatever the whole principle is and go save him. It's meaningless if my brother had died and I still want to protect his pride.
-
That last panel has to be both the single most awesome and the most disturbing thing in the entire manga.
-
I saw at least 1 person say that Luffy was hanging onto Hancock under her clothes but I think he's just under her cape. Either way, it wasn't how I thought Luffy would go. I thought maybe he'd dress as a girl or something.
Edit: Nevermind. I just realized that if he was just under the cape, Momonga would be able to see his hands wrapped around Boa. He must be wrapped around her naked body then. Go Luffy!
-
well the reason I think if Kuma's ability does send you to somewhere you want to go subconsciously. Nami thinking of weather, or make climatact stronger. Franky thinking of kuma's beam and advanced weaponry ect. I think that Luffy was thinking of Sentomouru and how was he able to hurt him, which was haki, and thus it sent him to an island that all know it.
But ha since banned from spoiler discussion couldn't post there. But one retarted argument i saw there was someone argueing about SH's and Ace being as strong as garp and being able to throw that huge iron ball. And comparing to pushing or pulling, and the building luffy pushed apart.
Lol that is so retarted. Have you ever held like the buster sword or a sledge hammer. Find the center of gravity of the object, and it is really easy to hold out in front of you. If you hold at the handle i bet you can't even hold it level at all. Lift up a 5 gallon pail of water, you can do it fine enough. Now put a top on so water don't go out and try throwing that pail as far as you can. Ha good luck.
Benching at the workout place, bench 200 lbs and its fine, now grab the bar with all that weight on it and see how far you can throw it across the room.
Zoro throwing that building at Mr. 1 was nothing. Or Arlong throwing a building. The building will weight barely nothign compared to a iron ball the size that was. The iron ball is not hollow at all. And zoro and arlong threw the building like 10 feet.
-

I doubt that Luffy would ever do something like that, considering his reaction to just wearing a girly shirt. xD -

I'm positive Luffy would do if it was the only way to get on the ship.
-
hmm sanji's in the island of the origin of the great okama kenpo?!?!?!? :)
hehereally good chapter this week, awesome, ill bet that now oda will show us where the other shs are… and i don't know how oda will pull everything out, but it seems that this will be one big clash of everybody.
curious to see some of the supernovas get back, and very eager to get see some action from croc!!!
-
Wait, if sengoku said that 6 shichibukai have accepted it, then Moria must be better again!! I guess.

Weren't there multiple lawless zones. Even if its just one zone how many gang bangers do you think populate bad neighborhoods in California? Thousands of pirates in SA shouldn't be surprising.
Maybe Law and Kidd are with Kuma or maybe Kuma told them to do something specific.
They wrecked the Pacifista, got the hell out of there, and are in the New World already…..at least they should be. Don't know why they would be with Kuma. Obviously a Pacifista that attacked them because it had no bible and why would Kuma just fire a mouth laser without saying a word?
Doubt it since Luffy didn't get stronger at AL. It could be Kuma didn't have any time to send them to specific places. You actually think its mere coincidence they each got sent to islands where they're specific specialties could be improved? He has information on their old exploits, likely basic information on their histories, watched them fight Oz&Moria to get perspective on their abilities, then got insight into their personalities when he attacked.
Plenty of information to go on to determine the best places to send them for advancement. Reason? He obviously has some connection to Dragon, who definitely wants&expects to see his son for whatever reason.

no point of bring science into one piece cause im sure chars in one piece could do the impossible its a manga -

Hatchan: "Nyuu?! Oh! Arlong-san?! Well, he and Chew and Kuroobi all got caught by the Marines!! Only I escaped"
I know he was captured. That was kinda obvious given the marines being there at the time and what Hachi said when they met again.
I'm talking about ppl claiming Arlong is in ID which as I thought was false as of now.
Weren't there multiple lawless zones. Even if its just one zone how many gang bangers do you think populate bad neighborhoods in California? Thousands of pirates in SA shouldn't be surprising.
I didn't say it was surprising. I said it was weird if he captured all of them at SA. I also find that to be unlikely given how things were left when the SHs got sent off by Kuma. My point being he either took down anyone when he was blowing shit up when he first landed(civilians, bounty hunters, etc.) or on his way back to MHQ by attacking any pirates coming to SA.
They wrecked the Pacifista and are in the New World already
Speculation unless you can show me in what chap this happened. don't act like it's fact

Speculation unless you gonna show me where the Kuma and Dragon connection is shown. It's possible but it is not obvious at all.
Why are you talking like you know where all of the SHs are? Also so far we only know that where Nami is might help her. How do tranny's help Sanji improve anything? We don't know for a fact that Vegapunk is from the island Franky is at. So it's not clear that what he will find there will help him for sure. Besides exactly how much stronger could they get from learning a couple new tricks? See me if Zoro is sent to Mihawk's sword master or something and I repeat that Luffy did not get stronger at all at AL. You're also doing a lot of assuming about what Kuma knows about the SHs(Moria only knew so much about them from bounties, Hancock nothing).

The island on which the Spaceys were developed was never named.

Hachi told the SH this when they first reunited.
Read it again, they are NOT in Impel Down. He was caught, NOT in Impel Down.
His son seems a little much.
It's hopefully not going to happen. Jinbei looks like the Yonkou shilloutette dude. D:

Again, jumping to conclusions.
Like making weather would scream YOUR A NAVIGATOR! Like spourting arms would scream YOUR A ARCHEOLIGIST! Like turning into different forms would scream YOUR A DOCTOR! Like builiding stairs would scream YOUR A SHIPWRIGHT!
They shouldn't just give off the automatic vibe. -
when u got to zoro throwing a house u should have stopped
no point of bring science into one piece cause im sure chars in one piece could do the impossible its a mangawell i know science doesn't apply in one piece. which is also why he shouldn't have been arguing about that they should be able to do it.
but either way, he threw 3 story maybe building of brick, that was 1/8 the size of the completely solid (not hollow) iron ball. and he threw it like 10 feet vs. the couple hundred feet garp did.
-
@joekido:
Thanks Joekido. I am not sure what the RAW would translate to, Machine Island or just a mechanical Island. I am sure there are more islands similar. The idea might very well be right, but the pool and other images in the cover story suggest it is not a winter island.
@Zik: Then I answered your question for you, right? =)
-
@Zik: Then I answered your question for you, right? =)
I specifically wanted that person to answer so they could realize they were wrong. I was pretty confident that it wasn't stated that Arlong or any of his crew was in ID.
-
I love how whenever Franky does his SUUUUPPPPPEEEEERRRR~! pose there's an explosion in the background for absolutely no reason. I'm a bit more interested in his little adventure than the others for now, though I'm still bummed that Machine Island doesn't look like it'll be a full arc.
Sanji's would've been a bit funnier if we hadn't already pegged him for something like this from the moment we first saw the spoiler pic of Luffy being ahem washed two months ago. Though the chapter title implies that we may be following him around for a bit, so who knows.
-
Out of the current three, i'm hoping for Nami. D:

The whole part where Franky was telling them where to move and how to do the pose bugged me out. It was too ridiculous for me. The whole convo between him and that other guy was weird.
The whole time I was thinking Franky didn't feel that much cold cuz of being a cyborg except for on his backside. There's probably more funny science to the mechanics of Franky's body and cola.
-
IDK. I am still under the impression – due to the narrator comment -- that we will not be following any of the other SHP's. Rather, I felt that it was just letting us know where they were as of a given amount of time prior to our current events so that we would feel relieved at knowing they were ok...somewhere. I guess I am just imagining that instead of writing a mini-arc for them all, we get a peek of where they were so that when they are introduced back into the main story no flashbacks are required. Just an explanation and maybe a single flashback image (like Sanji's nightmare). This would bypass any "training" while still allowing them all to learn or upgrade. Ugh. I am trying sooo hard not to use a million sentences to get my point across.
-
I have to say, the whole Franky part of the chapter made me burst out laughing, especially with the robot dog doing the SUPER dance.

That would be the best course of action for Oda. If he does mini arcs the whole focus he created with this chap would be lost and it'd be like he hyped us up just to switch topics(like having ADD). Also things would just be too long even for Oda when it comes to pacing to do 8 other mini arcs one by one.
Lets just hope we get glimpses of the rest of the SHs a few chaps from now.
The chap title does seem to only apply to Sanji's predicament but this could be all part of Oda's joke.

They shouldn't just give off the automatic vibe.I edited 1 sec after my post an already 2 replies thinking the edited part was serious…..oh well.
Clearly I meant fighting specialties not their roles on the ship. He knows Franky's a Cyborg, Ussop is a sniper, Nami manipulates weather(he couldn't have missed Oz being frozen unless he wasn't paying attention to the battle at all which is unlikely) via tech, as well as the M.Trio power&potential. In Robins case he likely knows of her past if Rayleigh knows, so he would send her somewhere relevant to Poneglyphs or her own past. Would be odd if he sent her somewhere to learn how to manipulate her powers more offensively, but thats also possible.
How you came to the conclusion I meant he sent them to the Islands because of their roles as Cook, Navigator, Doctor, etc. puzzles me.
Why are you talking like you know where all of the SHs are? Also so far we only know that where Nami is might help her? How do tranny's help Sanji improve anything? We don't for a fact that Vegapunk is from the island Franky is at. So it's not clear that what he will find there will help him for sure. Besides exactly how much stronger could they get from learning a couple new tricks? See me if Zoro is sent to Mihawk's sword master or something and I repeat that Luffy did not get stronger at AL. You're also doing a lot of assuming about what Kuma knows about the SHs(Moria only knew so much about them from bounties, Hancock nothing).
I know how to read patterns? What, everything Oda does is random until stated otherwise?
Nami's on a weather Island, Franky's was attacked by a robotic Dog, and Luffy sent to a place of Haki users where we discover he has a very rare form of it hinted at before. Luffy didn't get stronger but he did unlock his Haki for the first time and is in company of somebody with some knowledge of it. Eventually Boa and Luffy will get around to talking about it.
I don't see how its not clear Kuma sent them to places populated by people who can pass on useful knowledge to them so they can improve their abilities. By how much can't be known, but seeing as Franky basically made his body out of scraps and Nami's items were made by an amateur inventor getting access to knowledge, skills and/or equipment from other experts in those fields should prove very useful.
Though I admit, why Kuma sent Sanji to Tranny Island is a mystery, though Oda is always full of twists. Oh and the reason Moria&Hancock don't know much on the SH is because they don't care about much outside of their iwb affairs. They've don't go to meetings and neither can go wherever they want in an instant to gather information if they wanted too.

Honestly I think we are going to get the whereabout of all the other members next chapter instead of spreading it out over a couple of chapters. And than have the end of next chapter (or begining) where it shows the battleship Luffy is on entering Ennies Lobby. If the info we have on the time is right, once they hit Ennies Lobby it should take no more than an hour or so to get to Impel Down.

Out of all the stuff that happened in this chapter, I think I'm actually most interested in what happened to Jimbei. This is the fishman shichibukai after all, and now the least known out of them all.
I just…really want to see what this guy can do. I've kind of wanted to see it since Fishman Island was mentioned.
