Pepperidge farm remembers when republicans the last few years touted themselves as being law & order candidates/being very supportive of law enforcement.
Now here we are entertaining the idea of somehow shutting down the FBI/at minimum firing impartial members of the agency to replace them with loyalists.
This is annoying, but as far as I can tell this "DOGE" is pretty much a made up department with no actual power. The silver lining seems like they'll only have as much influence as Trump allows, but in all likeness Trump will follow their advice for now. I can only hope those articles mentioning Trump being annoyed with Musk are true.

I’m more concerned of the flip where Elon uses Trump to put just let his companies essentially have free reign and no regulated oversight, but the overall concept of creating a system that’ll “drain the swamp” aka prune the government of anyone Trump and the Republicans are against I imagine will get general support from idiots unhappy with the current system and view Musk as a visionary, which is a stupidly high amount of people.

As it is the only ones that might suffer that fate is the dipshits that voted for Trump. A number of people in Trump’s cabinet during his first term wound up running afoul of the DOJ but of course were never investigated or charged with anything because of course.

What fills me with hope is that I'm seeing many articles and reports that even Republicans hate this pick.
Conversely, if he gets confirmed anyway they're everything is ruined. It'll be one way to confirm the Senate as a full rubber stamp. But, that's not going to be clear for months now.

Probably isn’t new but sometimes you need to remind people of stuff they either missed or refuse to pay attention to.
And with how often Conservatives love to smear certain people as pedophiles this is definitely something that should and must be hammered home.
