Kinemon and Kanjuro might be with Viola off somewhere scheming something. Maybe they're preparing a boat and moving Kyros' statue on to it as a gift for Luffy. =P
@Best:
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but what does this "Kaidou" in one of the panels on the last page mean and whats the relativ (if theres any) to his name Kaido?
If you're talking about mangastream's garbage translation mistake the line should actually just read that 1 on 1 he can't be defeated. Nothing about "being a kaido".
Just want to throw my two cents in and say that the island Sanji and crew are on is most definitely Zou. I normally wouldn't mention something I think is obvious but there's apparently a lot of people that think otherwise. Some quick points: 1) they were ordered to sail to Zou and said they would wait there, 2) after beating Doffy, Law's priority should be reuniting with his crew as well Luffy would want to reunite with his and both are assuming their crews are in Zou, 3) the theme of the island matches the name, 4) Kinemon is looking for one last samurai who he implied was in Zou, 5) Law NEVER stated Zou was a safe haven, that's an assumption by fans.
And even if it was a safe haven the coincidence of a samurai being there may have brought Kaidou's men to the island as pursuers. So yeah, rest assured that this island is Zou.
I just realized that the Rubber Band Land that the Skypians opened to honor Usopp is probably a foreshadow of Luffy's awakening.
Blew my mind. =P
Not trying to argue or debate but it begs the question, if Rebecca isn't the Vivi of this arc (the character that becomes nakama but doesn't journey with them) then who is?
That's actually the reason I think there is credence for her to join. Dressrosa isn't the same as Alabasta it's a juxtaposition of it. Doflamingo took over the kingdom, Crocodile didn't. Smoker was covered up, Fujitora wasn't. Vivi didn't join but seemed likely to, Rebecca seems unlikely to but…. we'll see. It's worth noting that Rebecca doesn't have the same hang-ups as Vivi either; she doesn't care nearly as much for her country as Vivi did (was outright hated) and she was never even raised as a princess to begin with.
But yeah, I don't want to open up a can of worms here. I just think she has a solid argument in her favor to join, that's all. Not claiming it's likely or that I desire it to happen but from a literary standpoint I'd say it would still make sense. All the same it doesn't have to happen either.
I wish the next nakama thread was still open because I'm not going to lie, right now at the very last minute I'm starting to support the idea of Rebecca as a nakama. Despite her hated status, the more and more I thought it over, the more I came to support it. Mind you I JUST started thinking about this stuff and it all culminated in an epiphany just now…
Not going to kickstart a debate though. This isn't the place for it. But I will just mention my epiphany, the bronze statue and a "beautiful female swordsman carrying meat" were foreshadowed long before this arc. If nothing else is certain, we know Luffy wants (and will most likely get) a statue eventually and he's keen on the Kyros one right now. I used to think Kyros was the dealbreaker for her but a statue of him makes for a pretty good motivator. Just some crazy thoughts. Also, Luffy sure does love dressing up as a gladiator. =P
I know it's unlikely and a bit irrelevant but on the off chance it happens then I'm totes calling this shit.~
Man I just gotta mention it real quick, I love the mutual respect that the Supernovas have for each other. It's so freaking suffocating that literally EVERY enemy that Luffy faces underestimates him, to the point of pure stupidity. Like Moria, "I heard he beat Croc but he's still a rookie so fuck him." Or recently with Doffy, who's even DUMBER because his sentence would go, "I know a warlord is teaming up with him, he beat TWO OTHER WARLORDS and I even promised myself I would NOT underestimate him but fuck it, he still ain't shit." And let's not even pretend like the yonkou aren't going to underestimate him either.
I mean shit, thank God we have some peers here in this manga to recognize and respect the game. Even Kid, who hates Luffy and sees him as a rival he needs to top has respect for the man (and well Law too of course). When they figured out they were gunning for Kaidou they weren't like, "Yeah they gonna get wrecked" they were just like, "Cool, we don't have to fight them yet and we acknowledge that their actions make sense." That's the shit I like to see. That's the kind of enemy I want gearing up for a challenge against Luffy, someone that's going to keep their head in the game.
It's refreshing, man.
Died today of bile duct growth.
Not going to lie, Nintendo is a big part of my life so this hit me hard.
Pretty sure Hawkins' predictions aren't going to be any better than 30%, if that. They'll probably have to just pull a Luffy/Law, say fuck it and jump in. I think you guys are seriously overestimating Hawkins precognition.
You probably have to read a poneglyph to reach Raftel.
The key factor this time is that it isn't being covered up. As far as the world knows, this is the first time Luffy has brought down a warlord. Even further, he's upsetting the balance even more by allying with Law so in one fell swoop he's actually taken two warlord spots. Post-Alabasta the government mentioned that even one vacant warlord seat can massively upset the balance. And now it's here in people's faces.
Furthermore, Dressrosa was razed to the ground. Even though we know the citizens of Dressrosa are happy (mostly) and Doffy actually caused most of it, the citizens of the world are going to think that the alliance is just heavily destructive. AND an admiral is going to fail to capture them.
A small increase would be absolutely ridiculous. Luffy is going to hit 500 MINIMUM.
They're not going to abolish the Warlords at this time. We don't even know who the mysterious seventh one is yet. It would be really dumb if one of the three great powers was able to be abolished over one incident, no matter how big.
This is just the groundwork for shit that's going to happen at the end of the series.
They did propose the title to Buggy who escaped from imperil down and opposed them in Maine ford(even participating in Luffy escape).
Different situation entirely. The government feared the released prisoners under Buggy's command and needed to reign them in. And besides, I'm sure Oda just wanted to keep Buggy relevant and this was the way to do it. Buggy is a personal favorite of his.
But anyways, I'm not concerned with other similar situations. I'm looking at this purely within the context of this arc with how things have been written and implied. If Law was going to keep his warlord status or one of the two needed warlord status then he would have just lied and said that Luffy worked for him. Or if he was allowed to stay as a warlord after this, despite having his title revoked, then it would have effectively destroyed the writing of the Dressrosa arc. Because we were led to believe that Law and Luffy had to fight against the marines and Fujitora since they were no longer protected by Law's status. It's too jumbled up and the writing becomes really poor.
Law quitting then, would have only served the purpose to inject fake tension into the arc. Which means that the arc in and of itself held no weight on its own to provide sufficient tension. Not that any of it was very well written anyway but it would just make things even worse. I can't, from a storytelling perspective, justify Law keeping his status or Luffy gaining it. Luffy will never accept being a subordinate, even if it's fake. Likewise, Luffy would never join the warlords because it would mean he wouldn't be free. There is no precedent for it. Even just sending an invite to be rejected would be contrived because Law's status is currently revoked and the papers have them depicted as working together in an alliance. Their alliance hasn't been dissolved yet, ala Buggy's. It's still very much active so they're still tied at the waist.
You don't like someone's theory, so you're going to snidely berate them and the entire forum?
You're being very immature.
It's not that I don't like their theory. It's that what they're saying has absolutely zero basis within the context of the story. This is basic writing, it doesn't get any more simple than this. If you retract one person's warlord status in a 2 person partnership you do not send an invitation to the other person in the partnership, ESPECIALLY when the reason the warlord status was retracted was because… dur hur, THE PARTNERSHIP. That's like if two people (one a part of the fire department) burn a house down and the one that worked for the fire department gets arrested for burning it down but then the other guy gets invited to join the fire department. It doesn't make sense.
I'm all for theories, fire away. But at least make sense.
"Fire Law for teaming up with Straw Hat. He can't be a Warlord anymore!"
"Who do we send an invitation to?"
"Send one to Straw Hat! That'll make sense!"

Seriously guys. Please tell me your reading comprehension is at least this strong.
He did say that he was sort of terrorized by gays before (which is strange, but I didn't argue with that, because if anything, I don't like arguing against personal experience). So I don't know. I guess I'll just be careful for a while, and try to get to know him better. Although I don't like how he makes me feel like a girl/woman. In a bad way. Maybe my brain's just making things up, and I'm so against being viewed as a girl because I automatically assume they automatically assume other things with that.
Thanks for the opinions and advice guys, as always, you made me look at the problem from another perspectives, which is always nice~
Ah well, if he makes you feel uncomfortable in more ways than just the homophobic comments then you should definitely be cautious. I personally don't like going against my gut feelings since I usually end up getting burned when I do.
Good luck to you.~
Hey, you never know. He may have had a really bad encounter with gay dudes before. I'd say at least get the context first. If it's nothing more than, "Cause they fruity" or some dumb shit then yeah, he's an asshole and should be treated as such.
Not trying to defend the guy or anything but my naive optimism wants to believe that hatred doesn't stem from nowhere and that most people at least have some kind of reason. Maybe he can be made to see the error of his ways. Shit, I know if people didn't give me the time of day I never would have seen through my own ignorance.
Although yeah, I'd still pull back on any romantic thoughts. That's just being smart.
Nah I'mma just sit here with my Fahrenheit.
You guys can keep going on with all that metric I don't know.~
Mm… Old picture but I figured I'd post something. I need to develop all the pictures I took on my recent trip to Chicago.

By the way Demon Rin, you look gorgeous! =D
To be honest, I don't like the idea of giving the majority of the crew bounties in excess of 100 million at least not for the moment. Like I mentioned before, breaking 100 million is a big deal. You received Supernova status if you broke 100 in a short period of time and Blackbeard considered beating a 100 million bounty (Luffy) enough to warrant a Warlord position. It's a big fucking deal. That's not to say they don't deserve bounties that high but I still don't think they'll get them or should get them.
Of note, you have to also consider that the captain receives quite a large portion of individual members' infamy. By all rights they might be of that strength tier but a lot of their actions are still more heavily accredited to Luffy as he's the one that calls the shots at the end of the day. Take into consideration also that it's highly unprecedented in this world for an entire crew to have bounties and it's a little easier to see my reasoning. So I'm standing by the notion that, while they will get honorable bounties eventually (most likely post yonkou defeat) at this stage they should still preserve the sanctity of a 100 million bounty. If any other members on the crew are going to break the 100 million mark it's going to be Usopp and Robin.
Robin is obvious, she can read poneglyphs. But what's more dangerous is the information that the marines should be receiving now. Luffy is Dragon's son, sworn brother to Sabo the second in command AND Robin spent 2 years with the revolutionaries. In lieu of the recent alliance and from the outside looking in, it's easy to assume that Robin could be a huge fucking threat in the near future (by awakening an ancient weapon). The marines might assume that the StrawHeart Alliance and the Revolutionaries are corroborating to mount a heavier attack on the government (since they also just defeated a Warlord). As well, her breaking 100 million may have been hinted at when she was recognized as notable back on Punk Hazard by the brokers (who didn't even acknowledge Franky).
Usopp, for pattern's sake, should follow Luffy and get 100 million. But he also deserves it because he's been seen commanding notorious New World pirates. He's referred to as "God Usopp" and holds Buggy-like charisma in strengthening his ally base. I could easily see the marines considering that a huge threat.
The rest of the crew can receive increases but I would personally be upset if they broke 100 million. Zoro doubling to 240 is fine since he's "vice-captain" in the eyes of the world and already a Supernova. But the rest of the crew should still remain as hidden potential, especially Sanji. He's their "hidden trump" that they can rely on. A lack of bounty increases would be justified too since even a notorious pirate like Blackbeard went largely unnoticed while on Whitebeard's ship. I just think that, from what I've seen of the story so far I'm led to believe that breaking 100 shouldn't be such an easy thing for non-captains. Whenever we get bombarded by huge bounty numbers it's always a captain that's holding it. Subordinates don't get nearly as much love, not unless they're top tier like Pekoms and Ace. And even then Ace was a Division Commander. =P
So…
stretches
Hm… Normally I wouldn't ring up an exposition for something like this what with having forgone conclusions from the experience but I did receive one or two things of tangible note that have been valuable in my recent growth so perhaps someone will get something out of it as I have.
For a long time, I've struggled with the question of, "Who exactly am I? Why do I think the way that I do?" And, through my desperation and mounting depression I aggressively sought answers. I was fed up, I was so tired of not understanding why I could not simply assimilate with my peers and accept their notions of things. And so I searched, and in my search I found the Myers-Briggs personality assessment. Now, this was not my first encounter with this particular test. To the contrary, I had already taken the test years before. But I decided I wanted to look more deeply into the personality type that the test had bequeathed to me. And I found that the personality type I had (INFJ) was considered to be the rarest amongst all personality types, constituting only 1-2% of the entire population. And that even further than that, an even smaller percentage of that was actually male with the greater proportion being females. Simply put, I'm as rare as they come (personality-wise).
Wonderful! Right? That whole thing about, "You are not a special snowflake" that they try to remind people of, in my case it's actually the opposite. I am a special snowflake. That's really something! Right?
…
I can't stand it. In fact, I hate it. Amongst the most notable traits of the INFJ are empathetic qualities. We have the ability to quite easily discern someone's thoughts based on their actions, speech and mannerisms. Not to say others can't do this as well but for this personality type it comes naturally. And I can personally attest to this as I find it very easy to read the people around me and figure out their immediate motivations. And here would come the irony. I, in being so naturally empathetic, find it difficult to relate to anyone around me. As you recall, my personality type is the rarest one. There is no one that is truly like me that I could talk to. And yet it's something I've yearned for since I was a child.
But the only thing this test did was reaffirm my already long held beliefs that I am painfully alone in the way I view things. It's absolutely daunting to think that I would have to find another super rare snowflake just to have a conversation with a person that gets what I'm saying. And so, rather than hold the test as an iron clad law I said fuck it. And more or less those were the conclusions I reached. I agreed with a lot of the test's assessments and then the in-depth analysis of the INFJ profile that I later looked more deeply into, but ultimately I said fuck it. Because I can't live like that. I can't live with the thought that I can't connect with people and truly share understanding with them. It instead has to be my environment.
In many ways, that's why I've returned here and even went so far as to get my old account back. Because here I have connected deeply with people and it's something I feel as if I'm growing out of touch with. I will admit that the assessment did clear up some confusions I had within my own psyche and has at least alerted me to the problem but having said that I also just don't like throwing letters and numbers around in interactions. Taking that test was something I needed in order to help me along the path of self-discovery but ultimately what I found and what I'll always continue to find is that people are much more than that. People are more than 4 little letters, no matter how much science is poured into it.
It's people that have bared me and it's people that will heal me. Dammit, I need people. =P
Hello, Chrissie-sama.~
Popping in to say that whether intentionally or not you really opened my mind up years back (like way back… like probably five years back xD) and got me more interested in the educational system. It was actually your posts and opinions that made me think a little more clearly on general issues. For that I owe you a massive debt of gratitude. So thank you. =)
Hope things have been going well for you.
I'm thinking Luffy's bounty could be either 500, 550 (Ace tribute) or 556 (tourney number; surpasses Ace; go-mu). Zoro could just as well double again making his 240 (surpasses Killer; stays relative to Luffy). Usopp should jump to 100 (follows Luffy's bounties) since everyone sees him commanding several infamous New World players. They might even mistake him for a staff officer since that seems to be a recurring position now.
I wouldn't want any more increases to the crew than that since breaking 100 million is a big deal but if anyone else besides these three break a hundred million then I want it to be Robin since she's already got global infamy (was recognized by brokers back on Punk Hazard). If the marines find out her involvement with the revolutionaries then she could easily double to 160. Franky could double too for wrecking shit so 88. Law should be more or less equal to Luffy's bounty after this. Could be more or less depending on if they interpret this as Luffy getting Law to come over to his side for the alliance or vice versa.
Man, I just want one arc where we're not on the impending doom clock. Fishman Island had the Noah falling, Punk Hazard had shittykuni and now Dressrosa has Birdcage. If Zou isn't some Jaya or Water 7 type shit then I'm going to freaking lose it.
This thread has too much ki in it to be about haki.
I'm sorry bruh but maybe you need a guide on haki. =P
Ironically, right after Robin apologizes to Vivi, Vivi would then have to turn around and apologize to Brook for trying to kill Laboon. >_>
Just a thought.~
When the Straw Hats arrive on Raftel.~
Luffy: "Guys, the real treasure is that we all made it here… in one piece."
roll credits
I've been thinking about the character number chapters lately (The First, The Second, etc.) and was contemplating on why Chopper and Robin haven't received their numbers yet. And before I even begin, to all you naysayers saying that they won't ever happen because it was never significant… uh, I disagree with you. I would have agreed if Nami didn't get hers later after a significant event (her village freed from Arlong) and Usopp didn't get his (much much later!) after a significant event (falling out and rejoining). To me, the number chapters solidify that those characters are 100% on-board with being in the crew. There's a precedent to believe this with the Nami and Usopp situations.
So then I was thinking, Robin for all intents and purposes has already received her big defining moment at Enies Lobby. She should be on-board right? Why the hell wouldn't she be? And I agree. I think all the BIG stuff with Robin is out of the way (I'm more interested in Chopper but I'll get to that in a moment). So what's left? What morsel of resistance is left in her that she isn't 100% on-board? Personally? I think it's Vivi. And even though Vivi has shown that she actually doesn't care that Robin joined the crew and that she trusts Luffy's judgement, Robin doesn't know that. I think she feels guilty, as she should, for the pain she caused to someone that's essentially a Straw Hat herself (though just not present).
And to be honest, I think when she does get that moment to meet Vivi and apologize it'll all happen fairly quickly. Oda could throw some spins on it but he doesn't really have to. But the reason I believe this is because we already saw with Jinbei that he apologized about Arlong to Nami. That was something he had to do. Obviously Robin is already on-board the ship and a full-fledged member but it's something that she probably thinks she still has to do. Get it out of her conscious for good, ya know? And I think that'll be resolved around the time of the reverie. Don't know if it'll be via den den mushi or if the Straw Hats will actually meet with Vivi in person but either way, I do think they'll talk it over.
But yeah… The INTERESTING one to me is Chopper. I won't lie, at first I thought that Chopper's issue was going to be his Monster point. But in lieu of him mastering that form and accepting himself as a monster for the sake of Luffy I actually don't buy that anymore. So I've developed a new theory and I think there actually is some weight to it. I think that Chopper is going to start feeling inadequate. Kinda funny now that I think about it, it seems like the weakling trio (Usopp, Chopper and Nami) have the most reservations (though Nami's was just straight up an opponent that needed to be defeated; not a psychological thing). Anyways, why would Chopper feel inadequate? Well let's consider things for a moment...
Besides just that he's a part of the weakling trio (and therefore not exactly a frontliner) his dream is to be able to cure any disease. What did we learn recently about a certain character's DF and its rumored abilities? That's right, I'm talking about Law. In Law's flashback, the Ope Ope no Mi is said to be able to cure any disease. It was the very reason that Corazon wanted to get it for Law and it was the thing that ultimately saved his life. Now is Law's fruit actually going to be related to Chopper's dream? Nah, I don't think so. I just think that it's a wondrous fruit that would have given any doctor a substantial edge over any other doctor in the department of "curing anything". Normally though, even this wouldn't matter.
But Law just got his "nakama for life" card with the defeat of Doflamingo. Now, I don't think Law is joining the crew. Not at all what I'm implying. But I could see Law being a permanent (or even just longtime, i.e. he ain't leaving the story any time soon) ally. We still have to go to Zou and see his crew. We still have a yonkou to take down. And if the Luffy/Law alliance joins up with the other Supernovas, Law could potentially be in for the long haul. Now, unlike Chopper, Law is a frontliner. This motherfucker pulls his weight in a fight. On top of that, I'm willing to say with certainty that Law's doctoring skills shit on Chopper's. After all, wasn't it Law ultimately that saved the kids on Punk Hazard? The very same kids that Chopper himself so desperately wanted to save?
And as well, wasn't it Chopper's lack of adequate medical knowledge the very reason he poisoned Dr. Hiliruk even further? Personally, I could see why Chopper might start to grow inadequate. Now as to the question of what would be the final straw and how would he resolve these issues with himself, I don't know. But I see enough evidence at this point to think that this has a high possibility of happening and to be honest, I'm really kind of interested to see this. Perhaps one of the Straw Hats, or even Luffy, might be seriously gravely injured. Or maybe even diseased. And maybe then Chopper fails to help them, but Law with his badass Ope Ope just POP saves their asses. And then maybe that's what'll set Chopper off and make him think he isn't pulling his weight. Who knows?
Anyways, tell me what you guys think.~
Not to mention Dellinger low diffed Bellamy (who is himself worth 195 million). Cavendish had to resort to Hakuba just to beat him. And Cavendish is worth 280 million! These numbers are serious threats in Paradise. >_>
As it was said, the Don crew may have had a poor showing but in terms of warlord crews they are undoubtedly the best.
That was an excellent post Demonicpoodle.~
And yes, I have the confetti ready and everything. ^^

Top right panel, it looks like Law is actually down for the count as well. I'm guessing both Luffy and Law are going to be passed out for a while so they might just wake up in palace beds a few days later or something.
I think we can reasonably assume that we'll go back to Sanji's side for the in-between portion of this and their waking up. Not before wrapping the last bits up though (Sabo, Fujitora, etc.) unless Oda wants to just opt for a quick summary there ala a King Riku explanation.
To be honest, seeing Plotcage go down was more than enough satisfaction for me this week. I'm glad there's light at the end of this seemingly never-ending tunnel.
Although, I think Rebecca snapped for a moment and thinks she has Mansherry's DF. I'm sure Luffy appreciates your appreciation lady but geez!
I was supposed to enroll in classes today but I got lazy. Hopefully I can pull myself together and take care of some actual business tomorrow. =P
On the flipside, I'm rekindling old relationships and forming new ones. Something I've wanted to do for a long time now.~

I'm not expecting people to necessarily reply to this - I don't necessarily deserve it anyhow - but the explanation is there for those who are wondering.
I was wondering about it.

Change of plans. I'm stepping down from this as well.
I look forward to seeing how you guys revive and maintain this thing in my absence. I've enjoyed my time here and I sincerely appreciate all the patience and willingness to participate I've been shown over the short history of this thing. I can honestly say that some of the best conversations I've ever had were had in these writing conferences.
If you guys ever need me, give me a ring. Otherwise, ce la vie.~
So, I decided to give this whole "romance" and "dating" stuff one last try. I asked someone out.
He said yes.
Needless to say that I'm insanely happy right now~.
I can see it now…
He's going to be so whipped.~
Mind you I was joking but while we're on the subject, I'm not of the mind that psychopathy is intrinsically evil. Come at me, psychologists.
Although, I apologize if it seemed like I was belittling your problems or attaching a label to you that you didn't want. To be frank, I have the same sort of issues. Although maybe not as prominently. I seem to be very unaffected by what would normally affect the people around me, like overly composed in certain situations.
My family has called me out on it multiple times, wondering why I'm not emoting very strongly and then I think to myself that there just doesn't seem to be a valid enough reason to react in such a strong manner. =P
It doesn't solve anything… And/Or it might not be as bad of a situation as it's being made out to be.
Like Noqanky said, being able to stay composed can prove to be a source of strength for the weaker willed members of your family and friends. On the flipside though, if you're completely incapable of empathy and have zero comprehension of the merits or purpose of it… please don't be offended by this or take this the wrong way but perhaps you could use therapy? There could be a deeper-seeded problem at play here that you might need to bring out to the open.
Perhaps something in your past that's secretly eating away at you. Mind you though, I'm just presenting both the lower end of the spectrum and the absolute extreme of the spectrum. So take it as you will.
That cheater! D:
And I shall show my working too.
To symbolically integrate what Foolio said, you must first ensure that you have a graphic calculator. Most people also like to keep a pen and paper by their side. Then, preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir melted butter into all-purpose flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce the temperature and let simmer. Next, place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill it with apples, mounded slightly. Cover it with a lattice work crust. Then, gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Don't make any careless mistakes here!! Pour it slowly so that it does not run off. Now you can put it in the oven! Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until the apples are soft.
Sorry trapped, looks like you didn't carry the cherry.
Your work is only somewhat delicious.
Dryish, you must live in the land of shitty fruit.
Most fruit doesn't come soft and mushy. Not if you have grocery stores that give a crap. >_>
Alright guys, let's all be honest with ourselves here…

Brain. Fried.
I'm just giving LaCa a hard time.~
