RE: One Piece Collectibles v.7 Main Discussion - "The never-ending POP alts"
Hmm I was wondering if all of you guys who are waiting to buy the Re-release (HK version) of WCF Vol 1 - 11 have realized that this figures will be made using the new material instead of the old one? I mean it makes complete sence, since these WCF have to be remade with the same molds of course but I doubt that they will use old material since they have been implemeting this new one on latest WCF from 10 ,11 , 12 etc.
Do you guys think that this might then cause more collectors to go back and try get JP versions or first released instead of HK re issues? what are your thoughts? -

RE: Eiichiro Oda: " I want ranks among the mangaka"
first he never says he is BETTER than someone else, basically saying he just wish that after time or whatever you upgraded to say a veteren mangaka instead of always just being a mangaka.
dumb imo, you don't refer to book authors as a super author or anything. they are just authors.
also its tough to tell sarcasm/joking on internet, but those responses to me don't sound serious at all
Exactly, however there is a difference, in Books, authors are caled author of this and that, but an author who perhaps created a best seller such as one peice for example, then would be from now on called "Best seller author or author of the best seller" which kinda takes it beyond the simply " author" name.

War is looking highly probable right about now…
Very true , but for now will be NATO bombings (like Bosnian-Serb conflict) . I just hope no innocent deaths happen if NATO start bombing. Since based on previous experience, it has almost never been 100% accurate.
Only thing I do not want is the US to deploy troops, The East is taken by the Rebels and I heard is a oil rich area. I heard over here in Fox news that there were talks about splitting libya in two.. Not sure if that is on the table or was just politicians rambling. West and east libya with independent governments. -

RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
@JERK:
LION, NOT TIGER
AFGHANISTAN IS NOT THE ARAB WORLD
Also BULLSHIT did you think I was talking about some random Iranian politician.
YOU JUST CALLED IT THE ARAB WORLD
Maybe part of that is how you're "currently fighting" in a war that was against the current authorties allied with rebel armies who you are now defending as the new government and probably even fighting alongside. If you wouldn't side with the American people against a 40 year (FOURTY YEAR) dictator we lived under hypothetically then go fuck yourself.
What the hell is your motive as a soldier in the first place. You're ostensibly defending the people back home. Or not evidently.Hey remember last time around when I called you, admittingly in a moment of rash anger, a praetorian guard with huge loathing for actual civilian Americans relative to a shouldneverexist in this scenario soldier for soldier agenda?
Yeah, I take back that it was rash anger.
I think the funniest part is that you still seem to hold some innocent naive expectations of talking with Kuma in some happy bubble land away from the "uninformed" american civilians. When after this shit (if he's even goddamn alive) he's going to be ten times harsher than me. The dude was literally in makeshift rebel army training.
And yet you've far far far more disgusting and offensive. Funny how that is.
What the hell even is this.
Let me rephrase it, the Muslim world. happy?
the rest of what you said, bla bla bla. Im sick of arguing.
Long live peaceful revolutions, out with the tyrant.
and for your info, I never went there to help an army overthrown the government, I went there to fight terrorist who according to our chain of command where supporting and giving quarter to those who attacked US. -

RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
@JERK:
You moron.
The current infrastructure and administration is largely made up of former rebels against the Taliban.
Karzai was a rebel. Dostum was a rebel. Ismail Khan was a rebel.
They've been rebels for over a decade some of them. Many of them were rebels against the Communists, then against the Taliban.
And when we were planning to run out the Taliban they were the first people we contacted, and we were already thinking about who to place into positions in the new government after we ran the Taliban out.You know what, I don't think you do.
Before if nothing else I assumed you would understand this, especially being as it's not very hard. But you don't seem to have the slightest clue who the current Afghan government and politicians were before we came in.
I half expect you to act shocked at the mention of Communists being there at one point.
Massoud was a hero and potentially the greatest Muslim hero in centuries had he lived into the new Afghanistan. He could have singlehandedly built cultural bridges between the US and Muslim world, he even tried warning us about Bin Laden planning something major against us.
Bin Laden had him killed like a month before 9-11.I don't think you even know about the Massoud I'm talking about thankfully, you better have been thinking of someone else.
Karzai was a funder of insurgency against the Taliban. ooohhhh noooo a reebbeelll!
Dude calm down, shit man geeze. stop spreading stuff, im not talking bad about one of the man who I admire (The tiger of Afghanistan) , im calling an idiot this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massoud_Rajavi. NEXT TIME SPECIFY which Massoud you are talking by using FULL names. specially in the arab world , you better use full names.
I love what Ahmad Massoud did .
I am assuming that you have been to Afghanistan and fought there and studied for years their politics, situations and popular people right? because you obviously talk like someone who knows everything about it, you moron.everyone here seems to not like the fact that I dont agree with an armed revolution by civilians and the formation of Rebel armies against the current authorities. My bad that I dont agree with all of you, but not because of that you guys have to insult. Look I am in the side of the coin that if ever happens would be closest to that of the Libyan armed forces, so when you say the troops feelings and thoughts dont count, that is hitting a nerver here. I have been in the field and I only talk based on my experience.
I said it before and say it again, F*** Gaddafi! not sure why still the hate against what I say , I support the people to kick out the dictator. I just dont agree with some points, is that such a subject to attack me? seriously. you guys are all attacking me and most of you dont even live in Libya. While I am not attacking anyone , just expressing my opinion towards a conflcit.
so banned should be you guys who dont respect other members and their opinions. in my case, I havent insulted anyone nor attacked anyone.
So moderators, keep that in mind.
Conflict of ideals and Opinions, that is how the world works, if we all agree then what the point of UN and other international organizations and democracy? it seems to me that you guys are implementing Groupthink here and there. -
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions

RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
Eh I didn't say Gaddafi was right. But I dont believe based on my experience in Afghanistan that civilians should attack government forces. it just make things worst.
No they shouldn't get bombed neither. They should just avoid any violence and follow government warnings, I mean come one people, if the government tells you they will bomb you if you dont leave, and you stay, aren't you already warned and pretty much you accepted being bombed?
Everytime in Afghanistan someone hated us for being there, or for whatever reason, they turned to the Taliban and insurgency, yes they were citizens, but no ISAF soldier hesitated on shoting them down once they had a weapon and a will against us. Most governments in the world labeled these "civilians" as terrorist and insurgents, and the ones that we considered civilians were those who stayed home, tried to comply or at least knew something was wrong and decided to do things more diplomatically, and if they didnt achieved them, then oh well. I am against Gaddafi, but I cant look with good eyes neither the rebel army trying to take cities from the corrupt leader, that is just putting more gasoline to the fire. -
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
lol.
What the fuck are you talking about? They didn't choose to fight, they were being bombarded and shot by anti-aircraft bullets in their houses even before they thought of fighting. What do you expect them to do.
What about the people who refused to leave there homes and decided to stay? Seriously, what are you even trying to say.
You don't really need officer school to tell you that and I'm pretty sure you you would like to hear what's Gaddafi's side of the story is.
Not perhaps, he is wrong.
and that's why I told you are clueless. You obviously have no idea what is happening and who is fighting who.
Now stop talking.
LOL @ your frustration. I can see which side are you on.
Yea Gaddafi is wrong.People who refused to leave and decided to stay , that is fine. but taking and attacking government forces and control cities ? that is hardly something civilians would do.
I am all up for stopping Gaddafi, I am all up for a no fly zone, and I am all up against civilian (non armed and inocent that is) deaths.I cant be up for anything else because I dont live there.
-
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
Well, you can follow the news or you know.. read the thread.
And obviously you only heard what Gaddafi's forces are saying. The same forces who are killing the Libyan people.
correction, Libyan ARMED Rebel forces. people stop being just "people" when they choose to bear arms and go hand by hand the same with the people who are fighthing them and become soldiers, warriors etc. the real just "civilan people" are those who fleed and refused to kill others.
I belong the army and one the first things that they teach us in Officer School is not to believe only ONE side of the story.
I am listening to both parts, one side cant be the only correct one and it usually isnt. Perhaps gaddaffi is wrong, but soldiers inside their army , they often might have no direct connection to gaddafi but their own opinions as human being must be heard the same as rebel forces. they both fighting for different alliances but they all want in the end a united libya. -
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
You're clueless aren't you? Damn, I hope they don't send you there.
Is not like I am there to know exactly what happens. All I can do is watch news and hear people opinions and experiences. How do you expect me to be a pro in what is really going on, I can only give my opinion of what I see (vids) and hear. Do you live in Libya?
-
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
I don't know where you guys get this, but he isn't controlling anything. Even Zawiya, which is the closest city to Tripoli has not yet fallen. Now imagine if he can only depend on forces that have no support from the sky or the sea.
-Libya state TV: Gaddafi will address the people of Benghazi.
Edit: He is talking right now.
lol, you're a natural aren't you.
Well about your last quote, that was what soldiers in Libya expressed concern about. Is not something I am inventing,
here is where I got that info from http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2011/03/17/robertson.army.advance.ajdabiya.cnn?hpt=C2 -
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
The only people with the right to take arms and attack an established government are Americans.
/dragonpiece
Did not say that and never implied it. I was just saying that many people in US look at rebellions in a good way but if it happen in their own country , here, they would condem it.
One of the problems of the No-fly zone was that The arab league aproved it but then they called for no international interference, to western countries that was confusing, however it is clearly that the arab league want arab countries to implement the no fly instead of western planes. Now will the western nations accept that? I feel that the arab league have a legit concern here, I mean I doubt people in the middle east want more american troops and NATO troops in their lands, right?
I believe the no flight will serve good if Gaddafi violates it, his planes will be taken down and will be easier to invade after all this is over, to remove him from power, if it ever happens. But don't be too confident, he still hold major arsenal for ground battle.
I think its not fair neither that Rebels are hiding or staying in houses full of civilians, that will just cause more innocent deaths.
This war is perhaps well justified for a regime change of opression, like many Libyans say but at the same time it was taken out of proportions by Gaddafi full blown all out initial killings, deffinitively he got to go.To JerkD.
All of our Afghan allies are NOT rebel forces. Many are part of the new government and trained military , others are policemen, etc. Yes they do have rebels, but I know for sure what are the causes of our war with Afghanistan and I have seen it with my own eyes. On this conflict in Libya, I needed clarification and retification. Now that I have it, you see my new points of views.
Massoud is an idiot and Karzai is just a man trapped in support for the West and the frustration of his own people to kick out the West. For a puppet governant, is not easy to speak up against the countries who put him in power, same with the Shah of Iran (former) , he was a simply poor guy who became a soldier and because of his views and experience was placed as the ruler of Iran, only difference is that he was dressed in his fairy rich western tale and forgot his people, Karzai is still in the dilema. -
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
@Bad:
You seem to be confused about who started firing. The protests started peaceful asking for reforms (basically asking for democracy from a ruler they never elected). Gaddafi's answer was firing live bullets & hiring african mercenaries. The protests had 3 options: -give up & go home, -stay & be killed OR -grap a gun & fight back. They chose to fight for their freedom.
ِِAn "elected" government is a legitimate ruling party who expresses the majority, a 40 year ruling dictator is NOT. So don't look at them from the same perspective.
So what do you expect the Libyans or Palestinians to do?
Why does it always become the responsibility of the "weak" to seek peace and accept that opposing the powerful will only lead to death?
Did the "international help" granted the Palestinians a country of their own yet? Did it discredit the 40 year ruling dictator? And for how long exactly should those who are oppressed be patient? Is this justice? Is this really peace? or is it giving up and accepting any blessing the powerful bestowed upon you (after all he DID let you live in peace didn't he?).
Let me end with 2 quotes.
JFK (or so I heard): Those who make a peaceful revolution impossible, make a violent revolution inevitable.
A leader from the late Egyptian protests (with tears in his eyes after being showed a pictures for the young dead protesters): This is not our fault. This is the fault of those who cling to power and refuse to let go.
You make good sensitive points that show the true color of things. (unlike Jerkdiseas who creates an evironment of violence and can confuse people who are asking for the true reasons).
I dont deny for a while I was skeptical too about the real situation, but the way you put things have convinced me how things really are.
Now my question is, what are libyans expecting after Gaddafi is killed or removed from power?
-
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
I in particular would never shoot my fellow Americans, even if they werent American I wouldnt shoot innocent civilians. But it is hard position to be for a military officer when chain of command is issuing you an order and if you dont go with it hardcore bad stuff can happen to you. So in a way I understand the soldiers way of thinking.
Now if some people get wild during a peaceful demostration and they are civilians and they got guns, I wouldnt hesitate on shooting after they pull the guns at me and dont obey the warnings. But anyways, I hope everything gets better in Libya, and my support goes to all those innocent who arent killing others. -
RE: Red-Flag Sellers: Where NOT to Buy OP Merch
I just received my Garp POP today from HobbyFan.com and it doesn't have any authentication sticker on it… The figure has great quality and looks completely legit but I don't like not having that toei sticker or Funimation sticker on it. Has anyone had a problem with them before? and what should/can I do about it?
I had a problem like that with Otacute. they wanted me to send my franky back and they refund me the money + partial initial shipping + the shipping I spent on sending it back, however it was not in my best interest since the figure was on sale, and if I did that, it would cost more.
So following that rule, you should contact them, but if they want you to send it back and they dont have anymore, think twice before doing so, and think what is better have a legit fig with no sticker or rebuying it somewhere else for $30 - $50 more .

RE: Youtube issue
Same here lol XD radomly youtube started working fine. I guess they received bunch of complaints and did something to fix it.
-
RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
Well it is not similar but I am giving you an example, if we arent allowed then how come many other countries actions like these can be seen wonderfully in the international community. It is the same thing no matter if is USA , China, Egypt , Libya , when the people form a rebel army and stop being peaceful. Yes Gaddafi is insane, but it still doesnt give people the right to take arms and start a revolution you know, because then, anyone can start a revolution wherever they want to for whatever reason they want to. and if the majority of the people are poor, then the majority will be seen as the right party. So if a bunch of Americans decide that nothing they do will change the way the government do things and they become desperate because the government is corrupt and keep spending and enriching the rich, and prices go up for everything (which they are) and still tons of corrupt politicians fight the so needed health care that can help millions of Americans, then by your thinking that the masses are allowed to rise and take arms against what they think is corrupt AND when they are disatisfied with the quality of life , we would have the same situation here of a rebel army against the US. but that doesnt mean that all of the Americans, will support that, im sure you probably wouldn't if it doesnt affect you what they are fighting for, so this same theory can be applied to other countries around the world that are experiencing Islamic revival and revolutions.
I mentioned the whole right to have weapons , because this was the reason why bunch of milita groups around the US were mad at the government if they aproved the restriction of it.
AND specially because people, like you say, dont care about the life of Gaddafi's forces, then why the military should care for the rebel forces loses? they stopped being purely civilians when they took arms , yes some in defence but others because they wanted to seize power and even other mercenary groups joined them. same applies. A Life is a life man. There is no way to do peace if the other party whoever it is keeps attacking.
Dont get me wrong, I hate what Gaddafi is doing and I think he should be removed from power. He used way too much power against an army of rifles, similar to Israel abuses to Palestine. But I still believe things should be achieved peacefully and if they cant be achieved peacefully then one must seek international help to create awareness, not just take matters in to one owns hand and take it to the next level to be a civil war.!!

RE: One Piece Collectibles v.7 Main Discussion - "The never-ending POP alts"
Thats a bit odd. With the disaster happening in Japan right now, shouldnt the JPY be losing steam? Do we have any experts here?
Nop, Many US investors invested in JPY because they saw more "security" in that currency with the growth of Japan and the crisis with the USD.
Now that Japan have been hit by the tragedies, there is a oil concern as well as a concern among all the investors that relied on Japan. Despite all this the funny thing is that when there is Chaos in the world , the USD goes down, when there is Chaos in the US, the USD goes down and when there is Chaos in the US , many exporter countries currencies goes high. Not to mention that investors always think in riskier ways and they believe that after the earthquake and tsunami, many companies that suffered damages, will then buy their assests back. But if you wish to have more concrete info:

RE: Rock the Casbah: Arab-World Revolutions
As some one who have been ( and still am) part of NATO, I highly doubt that the other NATO countries whishes the US to attack Libya. NATO countries are bound by a set of rules and promises in writing that specifically states , any country under NATO that is attacked, is an attack to all NATO countries. IF we invade Libya to help rebel forces, and Libya military attack US troops, that means, it attacks , by treaty and alliance, all other 28 countries. Also there are many delicate situations why the US is hesitant to help rebel and invade, primordially the condemnation of such act by the Arab League (which many control most of our oil dependance) , Iraq, Afghanistan and of course.. Iran. As you guys know, Iran has condemned any military intervention by the US or NATO and at this point , we need to keep relations with Iran on the least possible stressfull situation to get their support to stabilize Iraq. Shia resurgence in the Middle East has granted Iran a lot of power in the region, and most Iraqui authorities now are Shia, and they highly respect Iranian clerics.
it is very delicate the situation in the Middle East.
Oh yea not to mention, we need a UN charter to invade Libya, and that seems unlikely with Russia and China opposing military intervention. Eitherway, If I am deployed by any chance in the conflict, I would like first to get the fact straight, so Kuma , please when you get online, asnwer my questions above. I would like to know the deep roots of the conflict. The most we can do is tell our friends in the NAVY to set up some blockeades to prevent shipments to leave or come to Libya.
At this point I have been talking to two good friend of mine ( one is a Captain in the Italian Army and the other is a British Warrant officer whom I met in Afghanistan), we all been talking about the proposed and controversial no flight zone for Libya, and they pointed out something that I never thought before: Libya is having a civil war and the citizens want the world to support their coup, which they assambled a rebel army with weapons and took over cities. Now when Adriano told me that I was quite still thinking that Gadafi is crazy bla bla, but then I started thinking , what if that happens in USA? we grow tired of the government spending and the poor getting poorer , if we rise and pick up weapons against our government, will it be like in the Middle East? or why not? will the world support us (which now we would be militias ) or the US government? Is the people unsatisfied with their life and what they consider opression (Dont get me wrong please, but I am sure there are people in affected countries that support the governments) are allowed to take arms against their governments? , so all these things rushed my mind, and I didnt quite frankly knew what to answer him. So this is why I wanted to hear the roots of the problem in Libya and perhaps this way of thinking is why many other countries are divided in different issues such as invading, supporting rebels, no flight zone. However one thing we all agree on is that the loss of human life must stop, but how will it stop if neither side wants to give up?I ask those who are over there to answer me honestly, will you stop shooting your gun first? , how can the loss of human life and violence stop if one party keep attacking government forces and then they attack back , and even if attacked by the government first, the rebel army fight back, so its a loose loose situation.
