I seen the episode like several days ago. Here is my thoughts about it:
! I really enjoyed this episode! I felt like it was really good to be honest! Though I wish there was more time spend in the prison part of the episode, but otherwise things went well. Though I was not expecting both Ryan and Graham to leave! It seemed Ryan was foreshadowed a bit in the episode, so I was like okay he is leaving, but wasn't expecting Graham to join him at all! Though it was a nice touch for them to have psychic paper and do their own thing on Earth. Maybe this lead into a spin-off series possibly.
! I also enjoyed seeing Jack! He's a fun character honestly, and I liked the reunion with him and the Doctor. Hopefully he can come back in more episodes, or even have a revived Torchwood series.
! I enjoyed how simple Graham and Ryan's departure was. No weird pseudo-death thing, just, yeah, they're done. They've had their fill. Perhaps they'll meet again some day. We haven't gotten much of that recently.
! Yeah, finally something that didn't result in a sad death. I think the Doctor had too many companions dying, so less guilt for the Doctor as well as her not being as hurt if they died.
! The escape happened fast and was too simple making the prison feel unnecessary but I was happy to get to spend some time with Jack. Hopefully the decades in prison get explored in how it affected the doctor in the next series.
! Yes! I loved seeing Jack! And yeah you bring up a good point about the decades in prison, I'm sure it be brought up and might be one of the themes for Series 13.
! RTD made have a soft spot for Daleks so it was fun having them. And I'm all for them being smart enough to have legit plans that require the doctor some work to counteract. The solution reminded series 2 dinale when they were inside the timelord prison.
! Who's RTD?
! Yeah, I liked how it all went down with the Daleks! That plan they had was mind-blowing, I didn't think they could think of a such a thing to be honest.
! Fake Trump was fun but 1 I dont know why they had him kill that guy instead of just bribing or put him to sleep(from sleazy businessman to casual murderer seemed unnecsary). And it was weird when the doctor just let him walk to the daleks after he told her about his intention to betray them. Have Jack help restrain him or do that pinch thing or something.
! Maybe they are saving him for a plot story in Series 13 since it seems he will run for president, so I think that might be something to see when the new season arrives. What do you think?
