Face it, One Piece just isn't about romance (the love kind, anyway), it's about adventure. There are no romantic elements to it. You can write all the pairings you want, hell, most of them can even be in complete agreement with canon, but in actual One Piece canon, there is only one pairing - Igaram/Terracotta.
Thank god there will be no main character canon couples in OP :P I always get disinterested if my favorite ship happens and annoyed if it doesnt.which is why I cant read shojou till the end >_< its more fun to ship when its all just pretend ^^

There's no huge possibitly for ANY romance in One Piece. There are no canon couples, and most likely never will be. So denying it is perfectly reasonable.
yeah, i have to agree with you. I know that Zoro and Robin wouldn't be a couple, but its fun to imagine they would. and plus, its also a relief that there are no gay couples… those are there to have fun with XD

Wasn't Nami happy to see Luffy come and save her from Enel? I view it more as "happy to see a friend come to help friends" than "a knight saving a damsel in distress". I bet you if Luffy came to save them in 413 instead of Sanji the reaction would have been the same. Besides, because One Piece is about friendship, not romance, I view the scenes that could hint at love as instead strengthing the bond of friendship between the characters. Based on the angle Oda goes for, it seems more likely to me anyway.
I agree with the other comments. Pairings are unlikely to become canon in One Piece and frankly I prefer it that way. They work fine in fandom so leave it that way. With the way it stands at the moment none are likely to become anything more than a close bond of friendhsip, possibly a brother/sister relationship.
You could just as well say KakuxJabura, they bicker like a married couple!

I'm not taking side in these couples debates as there's no proof one way or another and for one I'm glad there's no romance in One Piece, but where the hell does she look happy when Sanji shows up in 413? She has a blank stare, a tear in the corner of her eye and doesn't smile. To me she just looked shocked that one of her friends nearly died.

Exactly. Even IF she did look happy, it's pretty much because Sanji was the only one left strong enough to fight Jyabura, as Zoro and Luffy were tied up with their own opponents. I bet if either of them were able to save them and did so instead, she'd react the same.

there are a couple of hints I think, though I always say that if you don't like the pairing you will never see the hints properly.

For some odd reason, I have this strange vision of Nami seductively waving Sanji into the (unoccupied) Women's Quarters. All heart-eye and nosebleed, Sanji literally floats into the room as Nami leers at him. Sanji closes the door behind him, blocking the view of what's happening in the Women's Quarters. Suddenly, a girlish shriek reverberates through the ship, and Sanji rushes out of the room, looking like he's just escaped Hell! Nami appears in the doorway, fully clad, I may add, snapping her fingers in disgust.
The two do look cute as a couple, but I always figured Nami would end up cheating on him with Zoro. The dreaded Love Triangle! I also like the Robin x Chopper pairing (cause I'm a seeck leetle monkee): it's kawaii and hentai, all in one.

While it was made to appear that Kuina was most definately dead (except in the dub, dur), I still don't rule out the possibility that Tashigi could in fact be Kuina somehow, or at least be related in some way, it's just too strong of a plot emphasis to be nothing but an odd coincidence.

Yeah, it's just one of those cultural things. Probably stems from the fact that men can father children until the day they die but women usually are done by their 40's, preferably younger for health concerns. (yes I know there are exceptions, just the norm).
On the other hand, women tend to outlive men, so dating older women should be good. XD I don't think 10 years is really that big of a difference whether older man or woman. It depends on the relative age. Like there's a difference between a 15 and 25 year old dating and a 30 and 40 year old dating.

I don't view any pairing as canon, even the one I like. To me they exists outside of OP in some kind of fan created alternative universe. Frankly I hope none become canon, partly because, say SaNa fans will be unhappy if LuNa (for example) becomes canon, but also because it would ruin some of the essense of the story. I think if anything the characters should develop deeper levels of friendship with each other and that's about it.

Hmmm I dunno what to think about Usopp and Robin, personally to me it seems like its a pairing that just wouldn't work for some reason (unlike Usopp and Nami) but it could be a one that is good if done right. However, RobinxLuffy for the win anyday, those two seem to have the most connection for a Robin pairing.
I agree about RobinxLuffy - not that I'm a fan of that pairing, but they could be a very good couple. Like I've said before, nobody else is as patient with Luffy's antics as Robin. He drives everyone else crazy to some extent except for Robin, who finds it cute and funny.
I can see ZoroxRobin too, and even SanjixRobin. Robin doesn't take advantage of Sanji like Nami does.

The problem with Sanji and Robin is that I doubt Robin would let him swoon over other women, especially with the past she's had. And I doubt that Sanji would be able to manage to not swoon over other women lol
