I don't think I've encounter any outright 'haters' of Franky, but there are a few who certainly dislike him more than most. Though, just not enough to go on character bashing sprees. ;)
Chapter 360 "Soon to be Sailing Out" Discussion

If you hate someone, like Sanji, for example, at least say "I think his fighting style is weak and his character isn't that well developed," not just "Sanji is teh suck!"
His fighting style is weak! Its like franky has a bazooka in his arm, but oh look, Paulie's got his danty little ropes. Everyone fear Paulie's boy scout mastery of the pipe hitch knot. Plus his personality is just so blah. But honestly, I think most people hate him (Including me) is because if Franky doesn't join the crew, it will most likely be because of him.
-
Ahhhh, Oda. You always know how to heal my heart, don't you? This is why Sanji is my favorite OP character, he's always there to make things seem brighter!
All this hate for Paulie, even after he was the true star of the chapter (although I couldn't read all of what he said, I recognized a good portion of it.) I think people are just jealous that they can't be as cool as he is. ^^
THANK YOU. Yes, Paulie was the biggest part of this chapter. I can't translate all of what he was saying (I wish I could translate that blurb he said to Iceburg!), but a lot of it was telling the Galley-La that Luffy and the crew are innocent and that they saved their lives. Quike the Straw-Hat supporter now, isn't he?
And people can have their opinions about characters, but to just go "this character sucks" is bashing and immature. I'm a Paulie supporter for the most part, but do I bash Franky? No. Why? Because he's an awesome character that Oda has given depth to. Is Paulie worthy of bashing just because he resembles Smoker? No. Oda has given Paulie his own character traits and the resemblence to Smoker is ultimately of little significance. Give Oda a break, creating good character designs is hard.
Geez, in a way I can't wait for this arc to end just so people can stop choosing sides between Paulie and Franky!
-
Like I said before, there's nothing wrong with saying he looks like Smoker (with a touch of Sanji). Smoker's the man!
I used to hate Pauly's rope attacks, but the style's grown on me. Though I wish he had a more creative use for them…
-
I got in trouble today. Our high school gives out portable labtops for schoolwork and guess what I was doing? Downloading this chapter. I snickered when I saw Sanji's fantasy. The teacher thought nothing of it. I chuckled at Chopper and she glared at me. Enter Santa Zoro. I laughed my ass off. Obviously she took my computer away for the day.
Love the avatar Moq. I will love this cover story! Miss Goldenweek rocks! Hope Valentine and 5 appear here too. -

The title is what I said in the spoiler thread, but I can't think of any better way to say it… Mamonaku Shukkou... ... argh.
Hmm…. according to the dictionary, Shukkou means leaving, departure, and what not.
Considering it's a train, departure makes the most sense in context.
Mamonaku means soon, before long, and in a short time.
So:
Soon to be Departing
Not Long Before DepartureIt'd be easier if the word train was in there.
Imminent Departure works as a title. That's cheating a bit though.
-
Where the hell is Hattori??
-
This was something I was wondering: just how old is Miss Goldenweek? She looks like she's 10 or 11, which is pretty young to be one of the top members of a criminal organization.
-
Yeh, Hattori rocked! I hope Lucchi didn't munch on him, when he was in Leopard form. ;)
-
Has anyone tranlate it yet?

I was so happy to see Miss Goldenweek, because she's SOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUTE!
Now that you are talking about her. How old is she? Luffy and company are from 15 to 18 except Robin. But I think that Miss Goldenweek seems that she is only 8 or 9 years old.
But she is cute.
Kinai.
-
If you give her a closer look than she actually looks like shes older.

Not mean to be rude but you should redo the spellings and grammers
I'll let the irony of that sentence sink in for a while…
Deep.... Deep....
Okay, done.

She's probably older than she looks; on the other hand, Crocodile apparently doesn't care about anything other than a person's ability to do their job. So she might just be a little kid.
General thoughts:
Man, Sanji looks creepy in that panel next to the fantasy scene. It's like he recieved a makeover from Bon Clay. Okama Eye for the Straight Guy?
Looks like Lucci missed the ocean the first time, but hit it the second. I suppose this is Zoro's legendary sense of direction leading him to the wrong building after climbing out of the ocean, that or it's just really warm in that chimney. Wait, does he have all three swords in that one image of his legs sticking out?
Chopper's army is cool, so is Pauly. Still a horse race between him and Franky, though I lean towards Pauly being a character with more development potential.
Robin doesn't look happy in the slightest.
There sure are a lot of CP agents on that train, I hope that we'll see a running battle on the train itself. Yep, lots of CP agents. Wonder if there are any stragglers out there for Sanji to steal a jacket and hat from, he's already got the pants.

**Amazing how many times I've seen this….
I don't hate any of the OP characters either. I really did hate Franky because I couldn't stand to look at his gay macho man self with his speedo and dancers. After he busted spandam I've liked him ever since. He was a lot cooler as a child. He needs to do some face busting again.
Pauley just needs more. I need to know more about him or he needs to do something really bad ass for me to get on his side....for now he's like a pell or that guy from the drum arc or gin. Kaku is still a bad ass.
Honestly if Usopp doesn't step up soon I'm gonna vote for him to not be let back in the strawhats.
-
Gay…..macho man?
Sadly, a lot of people would say that about Franky. What's wrong with just being flashy?
-
doesnt a shipwright cover all the parts of the ship, right.

Hang on a sec… Is it just me, or is Sanji riding a unicorn in his little fantasy?
I also get the feeling that Hattori ate some kind of Coat Coat Fruit...or is a coat that ate the Tori Tori Fruit. Just a hunch...
-
Anyone notice? Lucci's coat doesn't appear until the last two frames of page 5.
-
pigeon = coat coat fruit
lucci = pimp
sanji = gay in unicorn pick
franky = new crew member
paulie = still awsome
good news= i saved on
my car insurance by
switching to gieco -
Yeah, his coat suddenly appears in one panel. I don't really care about Oda explaining it.
EDIT: It's a lame coat! Made for Robin! What's wrong with you people?! :P
-
About the coat…look at pg 5 top left (someone is putting a coat on him)
*It isnt a bit mystery XD
Hehehe check out bottom panel right on pg16. Little T. XD

He has the sheth, but Chopper has the sword.
I forgot about the sheaths.
As far as Lucci's coat goes, check the panel before it shows up. A CP agent zips up and puts it on him while the others snap to attention along with the Marines.
Edit: Which somebody else pointed out while I was typing that… bah.
What's the text on the page say anyway? Lucci is obviously somebody with a pretty important rank judging by the reaction the other agents have when they see him.
-
I like Pauley I really do but he is not a full shipwright he just fixes ups the mast not any other part of the ship.Franky could become the shipwright and Pauley could become a lasher or something on the crew and they do have only 6 crewmembers so far and hopefully add 2 more on for this arc and its 8.

Maybe they're just really happy to meet the government's top agent. So happy, that they rip a coat off a woman to warm him.
And it doesn't hurt that he has the ability to kill all of them in seconds.

**Still they all have a mafie look to them and Lucci looks like an old bootlegger.

He was the best in that department and was made Dock Foreman as a result; that doesn't mean that's all he can do.
-
when it first introduces him it just tells the areas he works on the most maybe or he doesnt know how to do the other parts of the ship
-
If Iceberg trained him as he said he did then I HIGHLY doubt he only taught him in specific areas. His line was "Iceberg made me a full-fledged shipwright!" or something to that extent. No master would teach the apprentice only part of the trade.
Also, Paulie was the one who originally explained the significance of the keel to Luffy and co. I think he knows his craft.
With my handy-dandy dictionary I think I understand a little bit of what Paulie was saying. I believe he told the other Galley-La members that Lucci and Kaku "went to visit their parents" or something like that. "Satogaeri" has the characters for "village" and "to return home." Looks like for the time being he's covering for them, or at least so the other members don't blow their tops in this urgent time.

Man, that coat just kills you doesn't it?
And it doesn't hurt that he has the ability to kill all of them in seconds.
Probably so.
I didn't mention it earlier, but that's a lot of Marines as well. I wonder who is in charge of that detachment if they're not directly under CP5's authority; if there's a Captain or higher ranked official aboard the train on top of the CP agents, then it's going to be even harder going for the Straw Hats than we expected.

**There was a lot of mention of CP9, and he came out with his little top hat and two criminals, so I guess they know the score.
And "hate" isn't a strong enough word to describe how I feel about that coat.

As much as I have learned to appreciate the -ahem- finer points of Franky much more than I could ever have before his flashback -and you have to admit, the sight of him in a speedo takes quite some getting used to- I am still chanting for Paulie. I'm not sure why, but this chapter encourages me a lot. :) I still think he's the guy for the position.
Though I don't see why he should get compared to Smoker. Not that there's anything wrong with getting compared to Smoker. Smoker's pretty rocking, as far as the Marines go. But really, aside from the cigars, I don't see too much to go on a comparison.
As for Lucci's coat…
Nah, I think it's cute. I think I might look nice in it. I'd like to borrow it from him.
