Wow, what a great episode ! I just loved Sogeking intro, with the song and all. Reminded me of some of the '80 shows I watched as a kid. Kudos to ADC for making a karaoke of the song.
So-ge-ki-nnn-ghuuuuu !!

I love how they have "#1 Fansubbing group for One Piece" on their webpage.
Good job with the episode, especially with the sogeking song. However there were still some bad translations. Perfect Clima Tact -> Nami's Perfect Weapon. Wanze's nose hairs -> Wanten and a net in his stomach. Still, overall it's a good(and the only) speed sub of one piece.
dythim, can I just say something? Every time you jump to defend KF, I understand why you do it, I'd do it for my website to but it makes you look insecure or something. Look you and I and probably everyone on this forum all know that KF is the bestest group for subbing One Piece, quality and quanity wise. If another group out there is faster, who cares? Let people say they're faster. That doesn't mean KF is no good, it just means… there's a group out there that's faster. I love how fast KF is releasing now and everyone else appreciates it too. You have had slow times, especially last year, and people like me are impatient fucks and we want to look for a way to get stuff now now now. It's why I went looking for Hong Kong subs. It doesn't mean I thought any less of KF, it's just one Piece is so awesome, I hate having to wait ^_^
So don't worry about what other people say about KF or this group or anything. Alot of websites out there say "The number one blah blah" and they aren't. They just say they are. It's no big deal and IM sure ADC has nothing against KF.
Just wanted to say that... that and this episode ruled beyond anything and Wanse is the most awesomest XD he made me laugh so hard.
The best tagline i red on some site was :
"When it comes to self ranking, we're number one !"
we've always had direct downloads… we just don't advertise them on our site because there are just too many people. i don't see what's ironic about it at all.
You do?!
can you pm to the link.
There has been some bashing type comments in this thread. All you gotta do is look no further than the guy you quoted on the last page, "Bad-Beat".
I bashed them for the sole reason that I didn't particularly like their subs…if we are all going to just go 'oo they are good..yey!' what's the point of there being a discussion thread about them?
people can voice their opinions and my opinion if that they are no where near the quality that K-F produces..people say they get better but that is only because their earlier work was a complete mess..
I don't mind anyone saying anything that's true. >__>
I cared because we have been releasing very well for the past 2-3 weeks, and it gave me this "all that work was for nothing" feeling. I guess that would qualify as insecurity, but most people should have a sense of pride in what they work on, right? Even in this thread, there is constant (even unprompted) defending of their quality, by people who aren't even in the group. ^^ So, if I am insecure, I say that it's at least justified.
I suppose I've also been peeved recently by the treatment One Piece fansubs get compared to other series like Bleach and Naruto. And how sites like narutofan bring in 90k$ to someone who does not do a single ounce of work related to the series.
Oh well. This is why I don't post on forums often, the more you try to convey, the more emo you look. Not that the black background helps, damn you wanderer-zero. IRC is a lot better for chatting, since it's real-time.
Dythim, there's no damn reason to feel K-F's work is for nothing. Anyone who likes One Piece knows your subs are the dogs bollocks (means good), and will stay that way for aslong as you continue to sub..
This group is only focused on speed as that seems to be what most people seem to want? and I guess if you rush things, quality is going to lose out..
how does the saying go?
Good Things Come to Those who Wait
Ignore this. Forums were acting up for me.

I'd have to agree totally. I don't know the inner workings of KF but I get the impression you're the main person that is running the show, or atleast keeping things in motion. Taking pride in something doesn't mean you're insecure, or even so, not that it's a bad thing. Truth be told, and this is "generally true".. if you aren't the least bit insecure about something, you probably don't give a shit about it either.
Personally.. the reason I came here and talked some about ADC's increase in quality is very simple. Before, through the "wtf"-subbing thing being mentionned often, they were stuck in my head as "avoid".. but then I read some posts here about them getting better, so I checked em out.
And they turned out to be quite enjoyable! Pleasant surprise. Maybe not archive-quality (I leave that for everyone personally to decide), but definately good to get your quick fix. So to kinda show that they have improved, I have posted here too and voiced my opinion.
It's kinda like standing for the one that's bullied.. if you get my drift. KF is different altogether.. barring some slower periods (shit happens), they are a milestone in OP subbing. You know, most people won't be too inclined to keep reaffirming this. It's kinda how it is you know.
Don't need to say the sun comes up every morning either you know. "KF is high quality fansubbing". We know ^^ And I think I actually post in KF's releases quite often.. to show my appreciation, to vent my ideas about the episode (I'm a talker), to maybe give a glimpse of what to expect and also to incite some discussion about it. This last part can often bring extra enjoyment to an episode after watching it (dunno why).
Wow, long post.. hope it made sense.. don't think I really had a solid point, just kinda talking about the matter
Ugh, ignore all that. I don't know whats wrong with these forums, but there's definatly a problem. Not the least of which is the edit stopped working.
So what was supposed to be an irreverent remark looks really annoying now.
K-F is definatly insane with the quality. They'll always be the fansub I burn to DVD. But I also simply don't have strength of will to wait over a year to see what's happening now. Especially since it's discussed all over the internet(I have a hard enough time avoiding manga discussions). So in that regard, ADC is simply quality "enough" for my speed sub needs. If someone was making speedsubs, but they were only HK quality, I still wouldn't watch them.
K-F is always gonna be behind because they only sub DVD rips. So that's just something you have to live with. They've been releasing really fast lately, but they're still always gonna be at least a year behind. I've gotten used to it.
So that's pretty much that. They're good enough to be my speedsub. K-F is the only ones good enough to be my archievesub.
K-F does excellent work. Their attention to detail and quality will always put them at #1. Maybe not everyone really cares about that - they just want whatever they can get as fast as possible, and that's their prerogative…I guess.
And I don't blame Dythim for his response and from a personal point of view I think it's justified. Truth is, K-F puts more time and quality into their work than anyone else, they're not getting paid for it (nor is anyone else), they have increased the speed at which they release episodes (not that they were ever slow to begin with), and there's still people who complain.
But I think those are only small minority of people. I don't think K-F really needs to defend themselves, - if a few people are stupid enough to complain because ADC releases an episode a few days after a raw release, then screw'em.
Anyone know when they'll release episode 259? I'm so dying to see Sanji vs. Ramen Wanze!
Guys i'm having trouble with this group, nothing will seem to play it on my computer but the sound will come. Is there anything I need to install or something to get them to work?
Usually 1-2 days after the raw comes out so Monday or Tuesday. 258 came out on Wednesday because of problems with the raw.
All episodes come out in Japan on Sundays. The raw will be out then. ADC, most likely a few days after.
259 hasn't even aired yet in Japan. I comes out this Sunday.
I think it will be subbed by ADC till the middle of the next week.
Probably after it airs… in about 26.5 hours from right now.
yur dum

can I just say that… my respect for you has just grown in the last few days

so it is, with no direct download and this BT is taking forever…grr i shoulda started it before i went to work.
Guys i'm having trouble with this group, nothing will seem to play it on my computer but the sound will come. Is there anything I need to install or something to get them to work?
Hey, follow these instructions exactly. I believe ADC and Kaizoku use similar codecs so if you do as these instructions suggests you should have no more problems.
I have no problem with any groups fansubs with these codecs.
@Sonique:

mIRC works.
Oh, and you only need the DIVX codec for their subs…
They also changed their motto to the slightly less arrogant sounding
"Your #1 source for One Piece"
Still not accurate, but at least they are no longer claiming to be the best. They just claim to be your favorite.
Like those pizza boxes that claim to be your #1 choice for pizza!
259 was such a great episode.. didn't want it to end lol. Animation was sublime. Subbing was good, only the font they use for Franky's attacks is barely readable but whatever.
And btw don't they host all the available OP eps on an FTP or something? Which would indeed make them a great source for One Piece.
20:00 (GMT) 260 Release according to one of the admins on there site.

Eh, source and choice are 2 different things. They do have all episodes from k-f to gerusama available for direct download. So, in some ways the motto is true at least for the one piece anime.
Anyways 260 is now up for grabs!

I noticed a mistake - Sogeking says "I still don't understand Luffy" when it's supposed to be you don't understand Luffy.
Well, they are a speed sub. Speed or quality, it's your choice.
K-F = Speed and quality.
I wasn't dissing the subbing in general, just pointing out a mistake that I thought could be misleading to someone who didn't know it was a mistake.
Oxyshare files never work for me… or wait they do just not when this group has them up... grr.. fine Ill just use BT... and wait 23 hours?... christ
Irc calls out to you….irc calls out you!
seriously i used irc and got it in 10 mins.
i couldn't find anyone who had it…
actually... none of the msg things im sending seem to be working
EDIT:
NM it's working now
Ep 260 is out. Quite a good sub on this one, and fairly fast too.
that's what we've been talking about for the last page or so.
@Sonique:
that's what we've been talking about for the last page or so.
Bah, slow as usual :/
Yeah very nice (except for the I/you mix-up).. and the episode itself was totally amazing too
you know how sometimes you read a part in the manga, but the anime just outdoes that? This was one of those episodes I think. Particularly during the Franky vs… Nero is it?.. Espeically when Franky lied down,I thought it was funny in the Manga, but hillarious in the anime.
Also the other guys immitating the cool things zoro and luffy did was absolutely HILARIOUS here in the anime :)
How can I use the direct download of that oxything?
Naruto-Central.net also have ADC's subbed eps. and their speeds are good too, only thing is you have to register at their site.
I….have a question.
Please take this seriously because I'm not looking for a 'because they suck and have bad breath.' answer.
How can a group....speed-sub or not......have translators that can obviously understand English....and Japanese....well enough to convey them in some form that makes sense. And yet....call someone Kaku.....Kuku?
Now I'm not bashing anyone/anything here but can anyone explain how that happens? I can understand Kaku being Kakoo, Kakuu, Cacoo, Cakuu or any other jumble that somehow manages to get the correct syllables out. Speed sub or no speed sub....how does something like that happen? This has driven me literally insane since I became aware of HK subs that turn Sanji into Sunkist. It would seem that at least they're trying to avoid using copywritten material...but here??? Huh??? Has anyone actually tried thinking about that???? If you're high on shrooms, how do you continually fuck up people's names but manage to get full sentences out. On second thought, DON'T think about it, you'll just end up hurting yourself. But if by some miracle, someone has an explanation I would love to hear it because it's devouring my soul and very being.
You must really like Kaku… or you like names pronounced right... I've been wondering the same thing, especially when the HK subs had "Jeob" for Chopper's name ;_;
That's the problem with speed subs though. It could either be a typo, or that they just rush so fast that they don't hear it right. I'm not saying it's okay that they do that, but they do say they're speed subs and that happens a lot with those kinds of things, unfortunately =/. Im just glad they aren't doing "WTF" anymore and things like that. Because people these days want everything now now now, it's an unfortunate side effect
@omae:

Basically, I believe that our original translator hadn't had any experience of reading or watching One Piece (or Water 7 more specifically) before, in it's anime or manga forms, and as such didn't know the correct names of characters (explaining Kuku and Butch, etc.). Don't take my absolute word for it though.
Since the first episode though (which was really the one that set the group up with a bad reputation), the entire staff of the group has changed, explaining the difference in subtitle quality.
The translator did not read the manga so he doesn't know the official spelling for character's names, attacks and places. It is hard to guess what the character was talking if they were talking really fast. Some example I can think about is Zoro's "36 pound cannon". The translation said "36 point cannon". In japanese pound is pronounce as pondo while point is pointo. It is kinda hard to distinguish between pondo and pointo when the character talking kinda fast added with background music.
Unfamiliar with Oda's naming convention may also contribute to character spelling error. Example is Kiwi. I don't remember how it was spelled but definitely not Kiwi. The translator might also heard 'kiwi' but doubt himself as kiwi is the name of bird and fruit. Therefore he used a human name with almost sound as kiwi.

First of all, thank you. And again, please don't take this personally because I don't watch fansubs so it doesn't bother me either way, I'm just genuinely curious as hell.
As I said above, I can understand a translator messing up a spelling so long as it carries the phoenetic soul of the name. But how can names be messed up where they clearly say them, repeatedly. There's just no way you get a 'ku' out of that first syllable.

No, it really isn't. There's a clear 'i' in ポイント and it's a full syllable longer. That's why I'm saying, if you can understand Japanese well enough to comprehend what they're saying without even a script like the manga, not that all the lines are there mind you, how do you mess that up?
Again, I'm completely unbiased towards any fansubs because as long as you're doing something for fans and you're not charging people in this day and age, that's great. But I would love to know how those things happen because it can't simply be hearing it incorrectly.
