I also have the feeling that Spandam has the keys, and the keys that each of the CP9 have are just to delay them from all going after Spandam. He's that kind of a bastard. Well hopefully this fight will end soon, because I want to see Zoro/Usopp's fight, Nami's fight, and Luffy's fight alot more.
Chapter 405 "Power" Discussion
-
-
According to the TOC guy, there might not be a chapter this week. I say there might not be, because I don't want to believe it. … and several weeks ago TOC guy failed us once. ... but some say the break which didn't happen was postponed until this week. ... :S
-
Um, how can that be when One Piece is featured in the SJ #18 preview?
Sucks if there's any truth to it.
-
oh my man that SUCKS if there wont be any chapter this week T_T
-
regarding the second hand being intact, didn't we all agree that it was a prison issue prostetic as a hook could be a dangerous weapon in prison especially on someone of Crocodile's calibre?
-
We've never all agreed on anything, actually. Unless it was directly stated.
-

To add to that, I'll bring up a question from a few chapters ago.
Who the hell put his hook back together, and why?
-
@Battle:

Sucks if there's any truth to it.
Same reason as why it wasn't featured in the preview. … We'll see. I'm still in doubt, too, because of his (or Shuei-sha's) recent mistake.
-
We've never all agreed on anything, actually. Unless it was directly stated.
Even then, we've still got dissonance in these discussions. "Belly or Berry", "Saul or Sauro", "Olvia or Olivia", "Eneru, Enel, or Ener", "Juraquille or Dracule", "Navy or Marine"…endless, the list is. ~.~;

Who ever said he had only one hook. Why shouldn´t he have more of them for the case that one breaks eventually?

On Olvia however we all agreed since it was directly stated on her wanted poster.
-
Who ever said he had only one hook. Why shouldn´t he have more of them for the case that one breaks eventually?
A question for an answer heh? I can play that too:
So why would his spare hooks or at least one of them end up in prison? -
A question for an answer heh? I can play that too:
So why would his spare hooks or at least one of them end up in prison? :biggrin:Very simple, if you arrest somebody then you also confiscate his weapons. Just think back of the Morgan arc. Zoro was arrested and his weapons confiscated. When Luffy freed him he went to get this weapons first before he untied him.
Same thing could apply for Croc. It wasn´t your everyday hook to begin with so if Croc had duplicates of that one it is an important weapon to him. Reason enough to confiscate even the duplicates.
-
Who ever said he had only one hook. Why shouldn´t he have more of them for the case that one breaks eventually?
But he didn't want to break out anyway, so why re-attatch the hook?
-
Did he only have his hook after the handcuffs came off? I thought when the seastone cuffs were on, he had a normal hand, when they were off, he had his hook.
To me that means he can 'make' his hook with his power somehow, except for the poison. The only other explanation is that one of the BW underlings found his hook for him and gave it to him when they did the prison break.
-
To me, it looks like he's still sitting in the very same place, with the very same cuffs on him in the episode the Baroques break in to free them. If you take a gander it looks very much like the Baroques only just opened the door, which wouldn't really have given anyone any opportunity to get Crocodile his claw back. I think it's just been there all along and was a simple Oda mistake… Or his assistants.
We'll see when volume 41 is out (pretty soon).
-
Wait, he still has the cuffs on after they break out? I can't check because I lost chapter 403 and 402.

Zoro was not transported to a jail after being found unconscious in the midlle of the street without any weapons (okay a lumo of goldsih metal is a weapon but still ) so why should the go and search for spare hooks if they're putting Croc "away for good"?

wow I love this chapter….the battle franky vs fukurou is great!!!!!
WOW
but i want see rufy vs lucci
lucci must die

I think Califa is a mermaid, because first of all mermaids are pretty, and second, the most important reason, mermaids like water. So Nami won't be able to use her weather effects like rain on her, so she will have to come up with new tricks and evolve.

MangaHelpers web site has a couple scanlations or if you have the raw then Stephen posted a script as well.

Except that Mermaids are not animal and Califa is not immune to water.

Most people believe she already used her fruit on Sanji, which somewhat turned his body into glass, or made his body look like glass. Also Nami said something like this most be the work of a devilfruit user. So if that is her power, then the mermaid thing is out of question.
And if she turned into a mermaid, she wouldn't be able to move and Nami could use her lightning on her. So personaly i think mermaid fruit is preaty weak, plus if Calipha jumped into the water she would sink to the bottem and loose her abilities. -
But he didn't want to break out anyway, so why re-attatch the hook?
Why not? The one thing doesn´t have anything to do with the other. I could also ask why smoke a cigar if he doesn´t excape. Putting the hook on doesn´t have anything to do with not being willing to go with the rest.

Erm, he doesn´t wear the handcuffs anymore. He had them just on the cover of chapter 398 . In chapter 400 we can´t see it very clear but last time we see him in chapter 403 he definitely doesn´t have them anymore.
I´m not saying it´s not a glitch as you said but if it is really the case that the hook had to be brought to him then I don´t see why it shouldn´t be possible. I mean they already did him the favor to open the handcuffs so why shouldn´t they have brought the hook to him? Wouldn´t that be a good distraction to use the Color Trap on him?

Come on, the guys is an arrested criminal who plotted against the entire world. There´s no chance that they didn´t check his casino for evidence on further BW members, plans weapons etc. If they would just arrest him and leave his stuff behind then why did his ship get confiscated? If they did it to the ship they could also do it to the stuff in his casino and be it just for the case to have evidence.
Trust me, when security forces search for evidence they confiscate every little piece of crap you have laying around at home.
-

So personaly i think mermaid fruit is preaty weak, plus if Calipha jumped into the water she would sink to the bottem and loose her abilities. She could be a reverse-mermaid. Then she could walk around but still be immune to water. And she could wear a rubber suit to protect against the lightning.
I don't know how Sanji became all shiny though. If she's a shark reverse-mermaid then her skin should feel like sand paper. Maybe she sand-polished Sanji.
-
A reverse-mermaid? Do you mean a fishwoman, like a female Arlong? There's already a whole race of those, no need to emulate them with a DF. And it doesn't explain Sanji's ailment at all… >_>
I've had a new idea for Cali-chan's DF by now: Her DF works like Hina's, but instead of creating iron bindings, it makes bubbles of some sort of plastic substance. Once you're inside, the bubble starts shrinking and compressing whatever it contains. The actual Sanji would be in one of the later stages of compression, thus the deformities and the shininess.
I also picture Calipha making a whole string of bubbles and then bursting them all at once with her barbed whip for an explosive attack.
But that's just an idea, I think a glass Logia is more likely, becuase it would render her immune to electricity, but very weak against direct attacks. Nami would have to fool her, so she can hit her when she's vulnerable.
-
@Monkey:

I don't think Logias work that way. As seen with Aokijis, even Logias users made of brittle, breakable solid elements like ice or rock are able to get back into their initial shape after being cut or broken.
A glass Logia would be too much for Nami to handle. I like your first idea though.
-
Where can i find the translation scan of 405 tried msn groups but it says i have to be a member blablabla.
Turns out if you got a passpoint account the moment you join it you are in, no confirmation. So I had no problem.
-
Hmm, I thought of completely shattering her into really small shards. Even if it wouldn't kill her, the effort of recomposing would be too much to keep fighting afterwards.
I mean, how small can you really break a Logia? Even the more volatile Logia users keep a certain (rather large) amount of their element together which we can identify as the user's body (or thinking core or whatever). We've seen them become bigger but not truly tiny, right?
I don't see Ace traveling incognito as the flame of Sanji's cigarette, so where are Logias' limits?
-
Thing is, they have the ability to produce their element at will. So let's say Nami can shatter Calipha's upper body, leaving only her legs. The glass shards resulting from the attack would become normal "dead" glass, so Calipha would just have to create a glass replica of her upper body and come back to fight.
Of course you could say that her head being destroyed she'd die in an instant and couldn't even think about recreating her missing body parts, but we've seen a similar situation before, when BB blasted Crocodile's head in chapter 170, and it didn't even faze Croc.
I'm not sure I was clear…
-
Glass Logia's weakness is… High Pitched Sounds?
And Nami has a Sound Dial which she will end up using to Shatter Calipha?
-
Maybe Calipha is something like the T-1000 from Terminator 2. She can produce some sort of liquid, but it's not a logia.
I could be that Nami freezes her and then breaks her apart, just like in the movie. Then Calipha just formes back together. -

But why would they store them in the prison ? i don't see his ship aynwhere around :laugh:
-
But why would they store them in the prison ?
Probably because Crocodile and his agents are just stored there for the time being before they get sent to Enies Lobby and from there on to Impel Down. There´s no chance a Shichibukai who turned his back on the WG would remain at a regular prison for eternity. So for the time being (probably until all remaining agents and evidences have been collected) they remain on this island until they get send to Enies Lobby.
i don't see his ship aynwhere around :laugh:
Yes and neither to we see any other Marine ship around. Does that mean that there´s no ships harbored there? Of course not. It just means that we don´t see the harbor.

Sorry, I focused to much on the "still sitting" part.
But still it doesn´t change much. For all we know they might have tossed the hook at him the second they opened the door. Seeing it that Miss Goldenweek, Miss Doublefinger, Miss Merrychristmas and Mr. 5 are already inside the cell I´d say they the time was definitely there to throw it over to him.
The scene how his right hand touches the hook could be interpreted as if he´s just putting it on.
As I said often before, I for myself wish it more then anybody else that he doesn´t have a left hand and that he carries the hook permanentally. But speaking objectively there´s so far no die hard evidence for it.

Is my english so bad? What I meant is that it may have been somewhere in on the base and they delivered it to him.
Just like Zoro´s swords weren´t somewhere in a prison but in Hellmeppo´s room. Why store criminals and evidcence on two different islands when both come from Arabasta and end up at Enies Lobby eventually? There´s no logic in that. It makes more sense that they were delivered together and stored at serepate places, the criminals inside base´s prison, the ship at the base´s harbor and the small evidence somewhere else at the base. Is it really that much of a stretch to expect the criminals and the evidence to be stored at the same base for the time being?
-

I like money. But if you throw enough money at me, I'd suffocate and die.

Was the candle wax baroque works guy a logia?
If so, perhaps there are different levels of logia. Didn't someone in the manga say for instance, that Enel had one of the "invincible" fruits? If so, maybe some logias are significantly weaker than other logias. The "invincible" ones would be common elementals like fire, lightning, ice (I guess), wind, etc, the weaker ones would be like candle wax and crap such as that.
The only thing is I don't think the candle wax guy could transform into his wax, he could just create it.
-
Nope, Mr3 was a Paramecia. He could create wax from his body but couldn't turn his body into wax, or "become" wax.
-
Ah, is he the only paramecium we've seen that could actually generate something from his body?
-
Humm… Depends of your definition of "generate something". You could say Hina generates some kind of metal (?) when she catches her opponents. But Mr3 is the only non Logia one so far who was able to create and control some element. To me he's kind of a semi-Logia like Luffy.
-
What do you mean by semi-logia?
Is it because his body is always in rubber state? They are 4 types of paramecia that I can deduce
- Body always in the state of the DF power (semi logia?)
- gomu gomu
- sube sube
- Body can generate the DF power
- doru doru
- ori ori
- noro noro
- hana hana
- Body can turn into the DF power
- supa supa
- toge toge
- bomu bomu
- bane bane
- Body can manipulate the DF power
- bara bara
- kilo kilo
- mane mane

Zoro's case in not similar to this in anyway. He was left for dead in the place where he was captured. So why the comparison?
Why store evidence half way to it's final destination anyway when they could possible store it better in Enies Lobby where it could await the trial and the prosecutors could already examine it or it could already be discarded and/or destroyed.
And if the eveidence is personal weaponry it's only logical to assume that it'ss kept in such place where the criminal cannot get it in case of escape.
So no it's no a stretch but it's stupid and why should the Marines always be the stupid ones? This is getting boring though but if you want to play on i think i can play a little longer.
-

Why store evidence half way to it's final destination anyway when they could possible store it better in Enies Lobby where it could await the trial and the prosecutors could already examine it or it could already be discarded and/or destroyed.Doesn´t matter whether or not Zoro´s case is the same or not the point is that if they can make the criminals stop there before they get to their final destination then they can do the same to the evidence.
And if the eveidence is personal weaponry it's only logical to assume that it'ss kept in such place where the criminal cannot get it in case of escape.
So no it's no a stretch but it's stupid and why should the Marines always be the stupid ones?We don´t know for sure if there´s just prison cell inside there or if it is not a Marine base with other institutions inside.
I don´t see why it makes the marines stupid. Making the Marines think that it is a bad idea to store weapons there would mean that they don´t have faith in their prison. If that would be the case then none of the Marines there should be armed because the prisoners could use the weapons for their escape. I don´t see the reasons why the Marines should be affraid of having Crocodiles hook there. This is getting boring though but if you want to play on i think i can play a little longer.
Thanks for speaking out loud what I was assuming the entire time. You´ve just created this discussion for the sake of disagreeing with me and nothing else. That was already clear to me when you made this post. I just wanted to hear it from your mouth that all that this was about that you want to have the last word instead of proving a point that has anything to do with One Piece. With that I´ve heard what I wanted to hear so the discussion is finished for me. Go ahead, have the last word if it matters that much to you.
-
The last word? Ok.
BAH.
-
@Jedai27:
What do you mean by semi-logia?

I think you've grouped it a bit wrong there. Firstly, there's the category which changes your body permanently. Gomu gomu, supa supa for instance.
Then, there's the category which lets you change your "image" at will. Like toge toge, kilo kilo, mane mane.
Then, there's the category that lets you give off stuff. Doru doru and noro noro are some of them.
Finally, the last category is that that lets you change the environment. This is the Door door fruit.

is 406 RAW out?
