tao stood standing on a pillar in the center of the ring. his hands behind his back and his braided hair blowing in the wind. he watched the other entrance in silence waiting for his next victim to enter the ring. hughes finally walked in but looking very angry. he stopped and pointed a finger at Tao ''YOU, I WILL NEVER FORGIVE WHAT YOU DID IN ROUND TWO''
tao hopped off the pillar ''round two? oh you mean the pathetic duck''
hughes brought his finger down ''thats exactly what i mean. sure he was a jackass but he was a duck and you know what the effect of you killing him was? YOU MADE MY DAUGHTER CRY''

hughes pulled out some knives and threw 1 straight at taos face and another at his stomach. they were no more then a second behind eachother but he managed to grab the front one by the tip of the blade and knock the other away. tao smirked a little ''well i hope your daughter likes crying. shes going to be doing alot more when im through with you''

and actually i finished FMA before i even knew one piece existed. and i'm not sure why hughes gets special treatment…just something about him.....

and i know hes fictional but that doesn't mean i have to despise them and not care if they die. when things happen you kind of forget its fiction, if ever thought oh its just fiction who cares then no one would cry during shows/movies and alot of people probably would have no feeling when watching the movie at all other then the funny parts.

ok heres an example. have you ever been watching a movie and this big epic part comes up and your nervous that things might go wrong or someone you like might die, and your hanging on the edge of your seat not blinking?

It was totally ruined for me, some jerk friend of mine was spouting "Omg, hughes dies!" over and over and over again, so I knew it was comming, and it totally ruined all emotional effect on me. What a shame.

I like Hughes's character and his death was one of the few deaths that touched me…But seriously, Tao Pai Pai killed a man with his TONGUE, flies around on top of a pillar, was voiced by Micheal McConnohie in the Harmony Gold dub of Dragonball back in the 80s, and while he turned into a cybernetic wuss in DBZ, his badass spirit lives on within One Piece as Jybura of CP9.

I do like Tao and his fight with Goku in DB was good. Plus I did like the scene where he met Gohan in DBZ.

However Hughes is probably my favourite character in FMA and was shocked when he was killed, so he gets my vote.

on one hand Tao pai pai did travel on a pillar he trew himself which scores him some major badass points but then again on the other hand Hughes was hilarious a loving father and suprisingly badass in his own way and his funeral scene touched me deeply…...

No. Although being hit a grenade, Tao appears in the 23rd tourniment where he fights Ten/Tien. After his fight with Goku, Tao was rescued and turned into a cyborg by his older brother brother. Tao had already beaten up Chaotzu (sp?) and wanted revenge against Ten for brtraying the Crane skill of martial arts by allying himself with Roshi and Goku for his earlier defeate. However Ten's power clearly outclasses Tao, even with his enhanced cyborg strength. Ten beats Tao and tells the brothers to leave him and his friends alone. In the manga that's the last we see of Tao. However he does two DBZ fillers set during the ten days before the Cell Games start. In the first he's terrorising a town which Gohan happens to go to for supplies. When a villager who Gohan befriends tries to stop Tao, he gets beaten badly. Gohan steps in and quickly begins to power up, causing an aura to appear around him. Tao recognises his face and asks Gohan if he's Goku. Gohan states he isn't, much to Tao's relief, but then continues by saying he is Goku's son. Tao, scared at the mear thought of fighting Goku's son takes a tree and uses it to escape.

He also features an ep or two later, this time working for a gangster looking for the DragonBalls and bumps into Goku who's also looking for them. I can't really remember what happens in that ep though other than Tao trying to escape by giving Goku some puzzles he has to solve, which he manages to do.

he wasn't bashing hughes but he was bashing the tournament. im ok if he doesn't want hughes to win or isn't happy that he does but he was bashing because he didn't like some outcomes and thats just unnecessary. also i don't care if he expresses the fact he wanted tao to win but he could do it in a less jerky manner
